I have to step back and admit that I have a big problem:
T I L T.
Thats why I signed up and opened this thread. Because I AM my biggest enemy. It will be some sort of diary for me to keep it going in times when variance is coming in. I´ve learned very hard for the game in the past ....took coachings etc. And I KNOW I can beat the game. Finally I want to know where poker can take me. I dont know how often TILT throw me back.
From now on this will be my „sheet-anchor“ to hold on to my BRM. Even when Im running bad for thousands of hands. Like a backup where I can charge my batteries by writing it down and remembering myself by doing so why I created this thread.
START:
FR 6tables NL5 with $100,00 BR
I`ll move down to NL2 if my BR melts to 50$ and take a shot at NL10 when Im at 200$. (back down to NL5 at 150$)
I`ll play every day but want not to make any goals like 30.000k hands per month or so. Main goal is to play, learn and to keep up self-reflection to spot any sign of tilt. Now its the time I HAVE to realize that my tilting in the past is massive –ev if this is hindering me to play on with strict BR and show variance through high volume my middlefinger. And THIS is the whole point. T H I S!!!
Already a huge help for me was a hint that I find which says to listen to music when playing. (For serious cases one should only listen to one song over and over again to get oneself in a sort of "staying above things" trance.)
First 1k hands in, started really ....flopped with AA a set and got outdrawn by a onecard flush. But over all Im very satisfied. Stay away variance! I need VOLUME!
BR $110,30
FR NL5
Found a new song which I find is perfect for grinding!
2k´s in. Was really card- and spot dead the last few hundred hands. Hoping to move on to NL10 soon. Many times I caught myself with old thinking habits that puts my A-game in danger.
Observing mainly my emotions and tighten my ranges a bit.
3k´s. Cooler KK vs AA and have to switch to NL5 6-max the last ~800 hands due to terrible tables in the NL5 FR section.
No need for battling with tags even when Im not so used to 6-max.
Next 1k`s incoming...
I deciced to switch to 6max. The traffic is higher....I can bring in the same volume in a shorter period of time...can work more on my post-flop play and fight fire with fire to bring down my tilt through customisation with the up and downs of 6max. Its full of rollercoaster rides and it sounds weird but there I can handle the variance much more.
So I renew my BRM to 6max.:
BR $114.17
10 buy in Shot at NL5 if BR is $250.00
Back down to NL2 if BR melts to $200.00
I started at NL2 but the max buyin is 1$. Dont know why but thats how it is at 888.
First 1k 6max
BR $114,33
Today no song. Instead a video that is sending an shock wave through youtube and the net right now.
Was playing fewer hands the last days than I thought. Worked my way through a pile of theory about 6max ranges and postflop play and slowly I get used to 6max. Short it feels like you learn a much more about the game. Really like it. Also Im thinking about depositing 100$ next month on my Stars account for playing the 0,50$ 180 sng´s.
Feeling shorthanded better every minute. Love the action.
And Pokertraker has not much to complain about as I see. Really happy with my decision to leave FR.
1. I switched back to FR. Hade to admit that the high variance on 6max is not going to help me.
2. Never thought solving my Tilt problem would take so long. Videos, Articles, non poker-psychology. All I could get about Tilt. I breathed it and worked my way through. What an intense nasty battle it was.
3. Reached an understanding of poker I never thought to tackle. Feels unbelievable.
4. Learned to fly on flight simulator (FSX) a Boeing 737, 777, 747 and a Airbus 319, 320, 380. Dont ask, just a part of my Anti-Tilt training. Maybe I upload one day a landing in Vegas.
5. Will play at least 1k hands a day from now on. (December 2016 will not count cause a life changing task will take my time in my non poker life. But this means not that I will not play at all. Simply cant garantee 1k hands a day in this month.)
6. Had already a nice little bankroll but was forced from life to cash some money out. Current standing:
7. Will play NL2 NL5 & NL10. Dont care about the limit at the micros till I reached NL20/NL50. Feeling very strong. Should a downswing hit me back to 50$, I`ll only sit down at NL2. I swear.
I will close this thread. After I updated yesterday after a long time I recognized today during play every now and then thoughts about this thread and when to update. Couldnt do anything against it and it affects my play so I decided to do the close.
I learned to watch myself closely and to react intantly the past weeks and this step is really some sort of win over the tilt and to dismiss any disturbance. So from that point of view I reached with this close the total win over my tilt problem. And this was the reason I made this thread.
So good luck all and thank you 2+2 that you give players the opportunity to share, learn and write here.
