First hand looks okay to me. I think I'd be betting $23-28 on turn v fish and checking v aggro spewy fish.
Second hand I like your cr vs population. I think the jam is spewy unless there is a dynamic/read. His play is horrible-- r/f is the worst turn line I could imagine with his holding.
Will be following, hoping to see some more interesting hands!
Also wondering how bad you think the collusion is on ignition?
Unrelated to poker, it looks like a time of new beginnings for you too, Aesah!
Ya def new beginnings- starting less than a month ago, I believe I'm very likely to be settled down for good living with my partner here in LA (well with her- we may move out of LA). No kids for us except her 2 cats
I have gotten a refund for collusion from Ignition before but I think collusion in my experience isn't a huge issue. I download all the HH's 24 hours later and pretty meticulously look through them mainly as a studying tool to see how people are playing, but I haven't seen anything that stood out to me. There was a hand posted in here a month ago or so? (can search thread for "collusion") but they were just fish, and one of my friends said that the guy betting into the dry side pot with Q high made him think of it too. But yeah of course someone cold-calling a 3 bet all in with ATT7ss =/= collusion lol.
I don't see how ATcc with JT and top pair can be a fold? and if it is the EV has to be awfully close to 0 and likely slightly positive vs. most players I'd imagine?
you have 8 club outs to the nuts and 3 Q, thats 11 clean outs to the absolute nuts, surely your implied odds when you hit is enough to justify calling?
11 outs out of 44 cards is 25% right there and you only need 33% to be breakeven.
I don't play omaha, but I'd just call and have donking range
ya I posted that right before sleeping after checking a similar spot in Visions but I think it must have been a convergence issue, I agree it is a clearly not a fold- I have 32% against his hand for example.
I've seen some bizarre folds so I just went for the jam but I think calling would have been better. Could have saved 44bb
been taking a break from poker recently, haven't been that motivated but i feel much more at peace with it. I think oftentimes in the past I felt guilty if I played only XX hours per month, but after thinking more about the concept of "die with zero" I feel a lot more comfortable working less hours, especially with no desire for children or a super luxurious lifestyle. Oftentimes I'm presented the argument of "but what if you want more luxuries when you're older", well, maybe I will just work then, it is never too late. And that is kinda besides the point as I really don't think that would happen
Yeah, I'm going the opposite direction and often wonder how many unused piles of money I'll have in the bank when I bite it. It's a tough thing to balance and plan out, especially with family / dependents. Although money for me is mostly not about buying power but the simple stress free security it brings. Helps that I find my job (coming up on 27 years) a perfectly adequate way to spend 7.5 hours each day, and I still have enough hours left in each day to do things I enjoy. But also getting to the age where I'm wondering when I should cut back, although would certainly be tough to exit the gravy train while its running (cuz I won't be able to get back on).
I don't think you should focus on aggressively building wealth past a certain point, but imo it's super beneficial to reach a point where you can live a reasonable life off investments alone as early in life as you are able. Sure you could always work later but any money saved now will compound and grow over your life if invested whereas if you wait til you are older you don't have that time for compounding. Good health also isn't promised so I'd be weary of depending on working and having to bring in income when older. Since you don't want kids though you definitely can take a more relaxed approach since that's a huge expense you won't have.
I think maybe I just need to keep playing new kinds of poker, just found out global is offering PLO8 now it's pretty fun. I think I got caught up in the mindset that it is so expensive to switch games (which it is) but again on beat with the previous post, that is ok.
Still haven't been playing much poker recently (just haven't been that interested) but seems there is decent PLO8 action at around the $2bb level, seems kinda fun to learn a new game and I feel like I already have an edge just winging it
River:(66.86 BB, 2 players) Q Hero checks, BTN bets 66.26 BB, Hero calls 59.78 BB and is all-in

(Pre 29%, Flop 4%, Turn 0%) Hero shows T A T K (Four of a Kind, Tens)

maybe this will become PLO8 thread. Here are some winnings. Still looking for resources on this game, literally just 100% winging it right now but tbh I kinda feel like I'm crushing relative to the opposition
