Still working on finding my way, but i'm on the upswing right now. Overall my happiness in the past 3 months has been really high. Going to use this time where I'm thinking clearly to reflect on how to not make the same mistakes again. Outside of poker, which is going average (I need more hours badly, still struggling with that), I would say I mainly attribute it to two factors.
The first one is finding close friends I can spend time with in person. I have had a decent amount of close friends in the past, but they are almost all long distance due to the nature of my lifestyle. Just as with romantic relationships, long distance friendships are much more difficult to manage, and for me personally I have found hanging out in person much more energizing.
The second thing is new experiences. This kind of goes hand in hand with the first, because when many of my friendships were long distance, I maintained them through online gaming. While gaming is something I still enjoy, there are just so many more things you can do face to face. Actually I'll add a third thing here and say making new connections, that was something that wasn't really possible when my social life consisted of making friends online. You never truly got to know someone, what motivates them, what irritates them. If they were in a bad mood they could just log off, etc.
Out for now, I just wrote this post in like 10 minutes so definitely feeling the effects of being happy/confident
