Suitedness matters ALOT HU, not so much in multiway pots unless it's suited to the A, even suited to the K is only "kind of" nice.

Regarding JT97r, yea the rainbowness sucks, but in the type of games that are common at the bike you're going to see flops ON AVERAGE 4+handed, so having a suit to a non-nut flush isn't a huge deal in my opinion. JT97ds compared to JT97r gains tons of equity HU, but I'm not even really factoring in the flush draw in 4+handed pots- just trying to flop a wrap so I can check/call on 2-tone boards or barrel rainbow boards, then get it in when you hit because no one ever folds.

I limp this hand UTG if I think there's a very high chance it won't get 3-bet preflop and I can get to the flop investing less than ~$50. Raising preflop in PLO is basically just adjusting the pot size/SPR to where you want it, so in that specific example I raise because I have a pretty good hand on the button with plenty of SPR left for postflop play.

At the majority of tables, pots will be either limped around or single raised, people will be playing all sorts of trash like 366Jss, and everyone is basically just trying to hit the nuts then value bet. It'll be a lot easier for you though if you have a decent starting hand selection range (rundowns so you can flop wraps instead of OESDs, nut flush draws, JJ+ so you overset people instead of getting overset) and you won't be bleeding tons of chips limping every hand like they are.

Regarding getting it in preflop, it's rare that you will have to. What's more common is you raise pre, someone re-pots you (almost always AAxx), you can hopefully flat with a pot-sized bet left on the flop (the more the better, but at least roughly SPR = 1) and you'll have a very easy decision.

FYP - now it's more believable

I played HU PLO vs. a better player than me for about an hour, for amusement mainly. I immediately recognized it wasn't +EV but I was alright with that, it was a learning experience. Broke even vs. him.

I think I got angle-shot today but I'm not totally sure. Action is as follows:

I raised pre on button with Ac7c, two callers. Flop is 8c6c3d, checks around 3-handed (of course I don't mind a cbet here). Turn is Ad, checks to me, I bet 2/3 pot, get called. River is a Jh, he checks, I bet super small, like 1/4 pot since I figure he can't have anything, now weirdness happens.

The dealer has her back turned to the table talking to a floorman about god knows what, then the guy slides all his chips out to the middle (an appropriately sized river CRAI) and then immediately pulls them back. He does this very quickly since they're in a rack. Despite the fact he's repping basically nothing except a busted draw, fish don't go for this check/raise river shove bluff so I pretty much insta-drop my cards when I see him pushing all his chips, but he was already pulling them back before he saw me do anything. Then when I see him taking his chips back and I'm like "uhhh, did you go all-in?" and cover my cards. He kinda laughs and pushes his chips out again- the dealer is finally paying attention at this point and throws him the all-in button... not sure if he only shoves because he saw me muck, and if I say call he can claim he didn't bet!? I was really close to calling... but didn't. Anyway it tilted me a lot so I left the casino very shortly after.

fk'ing dealer should not turn her back and talk to the floor in the middle of a fk'ing hand, but yea no point crying over spilled milk. Whatever, life goes on.

I played 6 hours today, was up $1687. Had a hand where I got it in with the nut straight + flush draw vs. nut straight + set and I won, boring stuff like that.

LA total: $26920, 142 hours.

I had a dream last night I was playing Texas Hold One, like NLHE but you have only 1 card. I was trying to figure out what the optimal strategy was, and eventually decided to play cards T or higher and only continue if I hit a pair. Yea. I'm analytical even when dreaming, and proud of it!

Eventually I somehow got it in with the J on J65 vs. the A. The turn was the A... then the K on the river!!

Just a random story I felt like sharing. The relevant part is that even when the A hit the turn in my dream, I was completely calm and still just felt like I was going to win. And it made me think about different people I've met on and off the tables, and what kind of people consider themselves lucky or unlucky.

When you get it in flipping AIPF with AKs vs QQ (or vice versa), do you feel like you're going to win or lose before the flop is dealt? My suspicion is that the people who feel like they're going to win the flip tend to be the happier people in life. Stay positive friends!!!!!!!

It's pretty funny that in your dreams you don't just play this nonsense game you have to figure out the best way to beat it haha

When I dream, I dream I get 4 cards like PLO while everyone gets 2. It's happened like 4-5 times already. I usually can beat those games in my mind.

Are you depending on your parents/social network to support you during the time you are broke? I've slept on a park bench for a couple weeks and let me tell you, being broke is the worst thing in the world

I have too...and it was the best 4-month stretch of my life. Nothing is more empowering than knowing that, even with no money & only having the clothes on your back, one can still find happiness.

Then again, it's all about perspective. I can see it being a terrible time. I'm also a crazy person, so I enjoyed it.

I work part time for the FDA still, low hours 25k a year. It easily covers my expenses.

I just chopped AA in the blinds, that tilts me more than losing my stack in a flip lol. Oh well the heater continues, up $1000+ in 2 hours of 5-5 NLHE so far.

I fully expect to see a live update tomorrow about you and turntup meeting hu in the final table of the freeroll and chopping it.

What did you think of the games in Vegas?

The 5/10 games in Vegas during the WSOP were standard, I think compared to average 5/10 tables anywhere else they were particularly saturated with young players who think they're good. Some of them actually were good, some were a lot worse than the more standard middle aged ABC rich guys that usually saturate the 5/10 games.

WOW LOL I CANNOT LOSE AT THE BIKE WTF. Very quick double up in NLHE, I raise pre with KK and get 3 callers, shortstack shoves for $170, I flat (effective stacks $1k), 1 other guy calls and the rest fold. Flop comes AsKd9d, other guy just straight shoves $700 into a $0 sidepot with JdTd. I obviously call but wtf????????

Lost a $3000 PLO pot where I cbet $100 after raising pre with AAxxr on AsJc7d, got called in 2 spots. Turn 9s, I check, V2 checks, villain (very rich older guy who usually only bets when he has it, but can play somewhat unpredictably) pots it for almost $500. I'm thinking there aren't that many combos that can call a flop bet with T8, so I jammed for $800 more... that was an oops moment. Villain had KQT8. fkkkkkkkkkk.

My stack got down to $200 at one point, then doubled up with KKxx on K73, then tripled up with the nut flush draw all in on the flop.
