hey all,

i'm a college student up in northeastern usa. been playing casually for a while now and since summer has started i figured i'd be playing more live poker. anyways, i'm starting this thread to track my results across the summer. the first real session i played this summer was a couple days ago up at rivers casino in schenectady, ny.

now, i'm not from schenectady nor do i really have any reason to go to the area, but a friend of mine said that games are good. that's really all the convincing i needed before taking a weekend trip up to rivers.

the first night i was there (friday night) nothing eventful happened. I played a couple hours 2/5 where i lost about 275$ before transferring to the T/T game. played a couple more hours there and the game was good but i didn't manage to pick up any hands. also not super used to playing T/T (usually just play 2/5) but the games looked good so you know, irresponsible shot taking.

the second day (saturday) was an unbelievable session. my name got called for the 2/5 (the T/T game from the night prior ran all night but turned into a T/T plo when the sun rose lmfao) and I carry my stuff to the table. as i'm approaching the table the dealer asks if i wanted to be dealt in this hand. i usually like to get settled in (you know.. at least sitting down in the chair), but i was feeling antsy so I happily obliged. the cards fly to my box. i joined in MP. i was still standing at this point when UTG opens it up to 25$ (americanos love 5x'ing it from UTG), +1 calls and i go to look at my cards (keep in mind i'm still standing) and lo and behold red rockets! i cut out 125$ from the racks and put it out. "first hand lucky huh?" the UTG player comments. "something like that" i replied. the BTN cold calls, UTG calls, and +1 calls so we're going 4 ways (lol). the flop comes 742r and the UTG player lead jams 450$. +1 folds and I smirked, thinking to myself (lmfao im gonna double someone up first hand), and called his jam. turn comes a K and river is a 5 and my opp shows QQ, so yeah warm welcome to the table.

about an hour later, this lanky tall player with a graphic hat (you know those dumb very colorful ones with graffiti text on them) sits down and the dealer deals him in before he can get the chips out of his rack. UTG opens up to 25$, someone in EP calls, then someone in MP calls, I look down at 44 in the CO and call and this lanky guy calls out of the BB. for some reason i knew i was going to flop a set and sure enough there's a 4 in the window . flop's 784r, BB checks and UTG continues for 100$, the two guys in between fold and i elect to call to try and get the BB to come along. the BB calls rather quickly and in the back of my mind i was lowkey worried the BB was trapping a made straight (americanos love trapping the nuts), but that worry was quickly eradicated when the dealer put out the last 4 on the turn. BB checks, UTG checks and i check behind (thinking i should give them rope to hand themselves with). the river brings a Q, pot's about 425$, and BB bets out 225$, UTG folds and i slid out about 1.6k in chips (easily covering his stack of 650$ or so) and the BB snap calls (lol unfortunate for him). i table the stone nuts and he looked SO sad, and i mean this tall lanky guy in a funny hat looked as if he was about to break down and start crying. he said he had 77s full which is just a big rip for him. the guy buys back in for 217$ and i felt bad because it seemed like he literally took every last dollar he had on him and put it on the table...

this session ended up lasting about 6hrs and at the end i cashed out up 2.3k (300 of it was from the high hand i took down with quad 4s).

summer net so far is +2300$, thinking of going to parx in PA soon- hopefully the heat continues
