did good today, Got 2nd in big 109 for $12,500, chopped the $55 fo for $800 and ft'ed the party poker 109 for $600. Few other $200+ cashes and very happy with how the day went. Spent the last few days watching the olympics and hanging out with some friends. Went to watch brazil v korea and we were surrounded by hot korean women so have been runnning pretty decent all around haha feeling really confident about my game atm and going to try and put some sick volume in for the rest of the month as I've been slacking off online lately!!!! I hit a sick one outter on this ft of big 109 where i think I almost woke up everyone in the house screaming SEVENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! haha

Not posted an update for a lil while so thought I'd do an update. After talking it over with my dad hes convinced me too take a shot playing on my own without being staked since I am a 26 year old man still living with his parents. This might sound pathetic but I am genuinely upset about leaving the staking group and truth be told I don't really want to leave but I have made my mind up that I have too. The stable I am involved with I think has a real strong community and I have made alot of friends through this experience and it sucks that I won't get to talk to them as often anymore or still feel apart of this group. If I was in the position I was in a year ago before I went to the wsop and lost all my money I would love to be backed as I coulda bought a house and then took somewhat of an easy life after that being staked not having too worry about money too much since I would already have a house to fall back on etc. I want to be able to meet a girl and have a place to live and not be seen as a joke when I say I play poker for a living and have a house bought within a year or two and I think I have to go it alone for this to be realistic and I'm not getting any younger. I'm rolled to play the games I feel I'm most profitable in and I don't want to let life pass me by being a 40 something with no pension/ house/ wife etc etc so I feel I have to do this whilst the games are soft and I have the oppurtunity. I am at a point now where I am bankrolled to play the games I feel I am most profitable in so it makes the most sense for me to do this now. I'm very happy that the deal was beneficial for both me and my backers and have been able to make what I think most people would consider a nice amount of $$'s for them (and me haha).I definately benefited huge from this experience in a bunch of different ways and really want to remain friends with everyone I've met. I am in approx $800 make up so I'm determined to clear this within a few days so it will give me alittle time to say bye to the people I've become friendly with and wish everyone good luck. I am happy to help anyway I can if any of them need anything and my stable still has some equity in my tlb tournies and my supernova freerolls etc so maybe can win some more

other news. My computer I grind on got raped by some virus and completely locked my computer in the middle of my sunday grind. This meant I was forced to finish up on a computer that was created at around a similar time to me with no holdem manager/tableninja and lagged like crazy so was pretty tilting. I did a full scan of my computer that took about 4 hours and it found something crazy like 20 viruses on there. I just bought a bunch more anti virus software so hopefully this won't happen again and I'm going to be much more careful in the future. I am planning on just playing exclusively off peak schedules for the first 2-3 months of going solo. I am unsure about wcoop. I'm thinking of selling on here if that's an option. If I can't work something out I will probably skip it.

I have entered the dublin marathon that begins in about 10 weeks and all I've done is get drunk/ eat pizza so really should start training haha. Tommorow I'm going to go on a run and try and have an early night so I can wake up early wednesday and try and crush one big huge session and clear this make up.

ok not had the best week. my computer still had that virus till about thursday so couldn't grind anywhere near as much as I'd have liked too and the stuff I played I feel I could have done better with and running not so great too. Going to make sure I get them this week tho

Ive been real lazy this month I admitt. Thursday morning at last minute I decided to go to reading festival which lasts till monday and was pretty much just getting drunk around a ton of drunk girls and seeing lots of awesome bands etc. Saw the cure, foo fighters, the shins, florence and the machine, feeder and tons more. Was absoloutely amazing and cant wait to go again next year. Have a bunch of photos from it that I'l upload asap. So I got home on monday and decided to take the day off resting. I woke up today feeling pretty good but I didn't have the usual motivation to grind that I usually have. When you've spent the last 5 days drinking with your mates etc and around alot of drunk girls grinding 15 tables for 10+ hours didn't seem so appealing. I often find my first session or 2 when I return from something like this are never perticularly profitable and I litterally force myself to get through it and then the next day it's easier and I'm back to normal. So I slogged it out and bricked most of a 6 hour reg session. I think being honest with myself I didn't play very well and I know I can do alot better than this. I am going to bed soon so I can wake up earlier tomorrow and try harder.

thx, so played day 1 of wcoop and got donked in both the mains but had a deepish run in the 2nd chance and bigger 109 but unfortunately still made a small loss on the day. Grinded hard today, got 4th in a 27 turbo but apart from that couldn't get alot going. Still have the 20 cubed left which im 1 tabling approaching the money with a decent stack, whilst watching some cardrunners vids.

I am registered for day 1a of ukipt newcastle which is on thursday so I'm just flicking through a few places online now hoping to find a hotel thats pretty cheap with a good internet connection so I can play wcoop also. Really looking forward to the live tourney so hopefully I can play good and run good and make something happen

i swear im being trolled here haha and thx bubble boy, and yeh damn those sexy porn viruses!! haha just got home from ukipt newcastle, had an absoloutely awesome time and got to meet a ton of really cool people. I played day 1a, I liked my table draw tbh but had a very good online guy get moved to my direct left (jenbizzle) so wasn't ideal. I made friends with him, a lad from stoke called mark (grandy14) and this crazy dutch guy called rick.

Played some pretty interesting pots. In the 3rd level I 3bet the dutch guy who had been playing pretty aggro and lose with approx 100bb at bb = 150 (im on his direct left) . My image is also kinda spewey as I have 3 bet as much as anyone else at the table. so Dutch guy goes like 375 I go 875 and he then 4 bets making it something like 2100. I like my hand, I feel it can hit quite a few flops and I'm going to be able to outplay him on a few different textured flops etc etc so I decide to call. Pot is like 4200ish and i have about 13k back which is the effective stack as rick covers me. The flop is q33 with two spades (So I flop a flushdraw.) We are still pre ante at this level. Rick leads into the pot smallish only betting about 1850ish. When he bets this amount I felt it too spewey to just push all in for a raise of approx 80bb more or something pre ante and thought rick would shut down alot of the hands that he would be bluffing with on the turn and I can get his range face up alot more cheaply by calling here and betting a later street if it was checked to me so i decide to flat call ( pot is now about 8k and I have approx 11k back. The turn is an off suit king. This card is far better for ricks range than it is for mine as I have far less kx hands in my range than he does. I think rick shud bet like 3200 here with his air type hands as a bluff because its pretty hard for me to 3b ak and then just call his 4b then flat ak on q33, i meant its real unlikely for me to play ak this way. I dont peel kq as it does alot worse v his 4 betting range than a hand like 67 suited does so I guess if he checks here hes concerned I could be slowplaying qq kk aa etc but I think if he bets turn here he makes me fold all my 10 10 99 88 77 66 55 44 and flushdraws which make up alot more of my range than qq, kk , aa as with queen and king on the flop these are also blockers to them hands so less combos of having these hands and I wont always flat a 4b with aa where as I will always with 10 10 etc so to say 10 10 and aa are as likely is not accurate either. So I think a bet from him here is better as I have to fold the majority of my range and doesn't allow me to bluff him or realise my equity in the hand for free. He decides to check!! The pot is 8k I have 11k back, rick can have a monster here aswell as air and I really don't want to just push all in and hope, I don't want to bet small and then hear him say all in and have to fold a hand that might still have equity and im definately not wanting to bet call. I decided that when rick checks this turn he is either checking because he is done with the hand or checking because he wants me to bet. I think I rep showdown value hands alot better by checking this turn as most people would probably incorrectly assume that if i didnt have a showdown value hand I would start bluffing all in now so by checking this turn back I think everyone at the table has to give me credit for at least some kind of a showdown value hand rtather than a draw. I think if rick is trapping he will fire the riuver and if he has air he will check the river as people dont usually bluff/ then give up/ then start bluffing again as they are aware it makes little sense. the river is an offsuit 9. This is kind of a bad runout for me to try and bluff. rick checks to me so im pretty confident he doesnt have much. I have 7 high and am aware that I need to bet to win the pot as its obv not going to be good almost ever. I bet 5500 of my 11k stack into the 8k pot. I am polarised here, when i call the flop he has to put me on a medium pair/ flushdraw/ or a monster like qq kk aa. he has to know if the i call him ón the flop q33 with 88/77/66 etc those types of hands and it goes king/ 9 runout i would be checking and hoping these hands are good. So im only repping 33 qq kk aa aq maybe kq then alot of flushdraw combos. He folded pretty quick and im not sure if my bluff is unnecesary here as it was only the 3rd level but it worked.
I got bluffed a decent amount of times and made a few not too great river calls which i felt kinda dumb about but I know what I did wrong and hope I can adjust in the future but I think I had a huge edge in this field and just didn't get many nice spots too chip up. I made day 2 with 20 bb's and it was all over when i rejammed a5 into an old guy who had been raising every pot and he made the call wiuth a7 and it was time to leave. I grinded in the hotel room yesterday with limited sucess. managed to bust like 12thish in the 8 rebuy and ft a few 180s but lost on the day as I didnt cash either of the wcoops. after we finished on the thursday I had friday off so decided to go drinking thurs night. Was out with tons of the 2+2 guys, bakincookies, lnormajean, ledders, corey, deemer, jenbizzle, luke reeves, grandy14, sam grafton and his bros, torino2000, ste, max heinzelman etc etc hahaha list went on, was tons of fun. pulled a geordie girl on the dancefloor, was pretty funny. Definately going to go do it all again next year but time I think to grind again!!!

not a bad day today. Got 4th in the hot 44 for like $4000 and change then had a deep run int he $1000 wcoop, A little disapointing as I got it in jj v aq with 100 left for top 5 stacks in a spot where i think aq was overplayed but im obv biased. Busted about 100th for something liek $3000 and happy with my level of play. Nice to mark up some profit on the day and hope I can go big 2morro nit nit x

played a small sesh but didn't go how I wanted it too. Had a few grinders crash at mine for the last 2 days (lnormajean and pokerjay9) so was pretty fun. Played a bunch and chilled out alot and geeked up on some poker stuff so feeling really confident about my game at the moment. Hopefully I can hit something before end of wcoop, gl fellow grinders

not updated this in a while. Had some deep runs recently. Broke even last couple of days. Doing a half marathon on sunday which I haven't done any training for fml. Went out thurs, fri and saturday last weekend so I hope I can make it round. I've made it round just about the last 2 times with minimal training so hopefully I can bink some rungood. I'm also going to be 27 on the day I have to run this thing so I'll have to go out next weekend to celebrate that. I've Done way too much partying last few weekends anyways so I'm fine having a quiet one. I'll try and get a before and after photo of me on sunday lololol

villain is a good high stakes cash game player and has been pretty active. In hindsight I think 3bet pre> fold > call but I kinda clicked call without completely thinking it through. I think call is bad because we have to check fold so many flops and its hard to win a big pot oop as we are most likely going to have to check raise if we flop huge and bet bet to get stacks in and we are going to look super nutted and villain is going to have to catch a decent chunk of it too to pay us off. If we 3bet this hand we are the aggressor and can barrel all the good cards etc etc and win the pot a ton more often with no showdown. This is probably a fold pre but whatever. Not much to be said I don't think until the river. I know villain is a very good cash player and he bets two thirds pot. I think he is good enough to value bet a very wide range here as my hand looks like pairs 88 and worse. I believe he will chose this sizing with all his bluffs/ hands better than 88 and also his nutted hands. I have a3 so only one other combo of 33, only one other combo of 66 so these are not very likely then we are only left with 55 and kk for his super nutted value range. He has aa kx qq jj 10 10 99 88 i think and maybe if hes real gross could even bet fold 6x since it seems so hard for me to have a bluff here and so hard for any of these hands to be beating mine as played. Think this is a good spot to check move in as we dont rep any bluffs except pairs turned into a bluff and villain most likely thinks we will check call or check fold these type hands as he seems polarised. As we are both aware he is polarised I think he will mostly assume that when I jam I must also be polarised and since I check called the flop and check called the turn that it's alot more likely that I was trapping and have a hand since there are so few bluffs in my range. Or maybe he had 9 high hahah who knows. I like to think I made him fold something good but maybe I am just bluffing with the best hand like a donk lolol anyways going to go to sleep and get up and run another 7 miles tomorow. Last day of training before sundays half marathon!!!!

By the way, do you know any program to use when u wanna go through a hand history instead of reading everything?

first hand is probably a fold by the river as he doesnt have many bluffs in his range and he pretty much never value bets worse. 2nd hand is pretty standard imo. I open the button and he has 18bb and I have aj. If he shoves I should be snap calling him, when he goes this sizing doesnt mean hes big, people do this with hands like 22 etc trying to look ripped to get more folds so my shove here isn't bad I'm pretty sure. First hand villain is sosickpl who is probably most aggro player on stars, although extremely good. I am very aware that he is very aware he reps no bluffs so I also expect him to bluff here as he knows he doesn't rep any bluffs thus making it a great spot to bluff but having said that I still can't think of any hands that he would play this way that I beat so I really don't like my call. I should be opening to 60 to get stacks in but It isn't anything huge, when im playing a bunch of tables I sometimes revert back to my standard open. I don't think players care too much about pot odds at 10 20 pre ante so my raise size doesn't effect the range I'm playing agains i.e If people are calling 45 thier probably calling 60 with the same hands. There are pros and cons to raising 45 and 60, Raising to 45 allows me to steal the blinds cheaper and keep stacks as deep as possible. When I raise to 45 its hard to get the pot big when I have a good hand. When I raise 60 better chance at getting stacks in and we still play very deep. I think raising to 60 is better because of this reason but I honestly don't think it's a huge thing to worry about but something I am definately going to do this in the future.
So in hindsight I think hand 1 is played fine till river where I should definately check fold. Hand 2 is played fine imo.

Yesterday was my birthday. I chose not to drink on Saturday as I run the Macclesfield half marathon every year and this year it was on my birthday. Managed to get it finished in 2 hours 13 mins which is 2 mins better than last year but not particularly fast either. I got home power napped 4 hours and felt great when I started to play. Since it was my birthday I played fewer tables as I wanted to be around family etc I didn't get a whole lot going unfortunately. I'm hungry though so I've just woke up now, going to take a quick dip in the tub then I'm going to put a long full session in. Hope I get some good results to write about!!
