play regular tables dude, can notice more reliable patterns so reads and edge should be bigger play 1-3 tables if not using hud and 3-6 if using one sure your crush.
winrates should be higher so less swings and also smaller bankroll required cause of that reason (less swingy) to play same stake level, yh hourly might drop but might not might be higher even with less volume, only way to know is to test it out think your be pleasantly surprised though, but if your single tabling speed 3 tables of reg should match that volume and cause you are using a hud you shouldn't miss out on too much bet pattern wise, just maybe miss some showdowns when not involved in hands (which im guessing you are semi use to cause of speed poker anyway).

GL also if fancy throwing some tips advice my way once if i move up appreciate it ha.

keep thread up too dude for long haul im enjoying following this

whats going on guys! so its been a crazy few months in my life. I have been trying to stay focused on playing a lot more poker, and trying to move up from where I am at right now. I am still at 5NL and hoping to move up to 25nl in the next few months.

I have not really been putting in a lot of volume because I have to add more money to my bankroll online.

I have been studying a lot and running PIO sims and studying spots that I need to improve on.

There so many different strategies out there and I am somewhat new to poker, but I am trying to put all the pieces together.

I have a few friends that are doing a 90 day challenge to improve studying and developing a plan to move up to high stakes.

this would be month 2 so far. I honestly slacked last month just because of some things that really can't be avoided in my life.

Hopefully I can rack up the volume this month and really gauge where I am at.

My goals for this month is to get better at my XR bb vs. btn and to run boards and see what I should be check raising on and making a simple note so I can hit those frequencies.

I have a basic poker strategy right now where I am only using one bet size on each street. Idk if thats the best but its basic enough for me to follow and develop my balanced gameplan around.

ill try and post every week but idk its just super depressing putting all this time studying in and still not understanding more than half of what I am learning lol!

good luck to you all

what up up! so I am back at this **** again lol..... so I decided I would start back up my poker journey with one of my friends that is trying to crush in poker. he has been playing far longer than me and is on a different level.

He thinks i have the big balls to make some type of money in poker... so I am going to try this again haha.

so I decided to do a 18 month game plan of playing poker. I started back up at the beginning of FEBRUARY 2020. and completed a full month of playing poker. its been a long time since I played. did I do alright? **** no.... haha it was to be expected. here is my graph from last month:

crazy right? that is like whale times 10...if you played me you probably would just laugh ya way to the bank....geeshhhhh

I mean I think I put in decent volume. hey it is what it is....

oh lets not forget this one....

call me king of the downswing baby!

lol but yea disappointing month. can I improve? idk I think I can but we will see though.

so my goals for march..the second torture month.

Play 25k hands

study 1-5 pio hands a day(hopefully this will increase later)

drink a gallon of water a day

get 2 miles a day in walking

relax when I am tired of getting punched in the face by poker

talk hands with my friend everyday (he probably sick of me asking dumb questions but yolo) anybody want to be my friend so i dont bug him so much hit a guy up.

thats it keeping it simple.

I dont know if I will post weekly but we shall see. lets make a step in the right direction this month...can I make at least $5 so i can by me a coffee?

dev out.

update. well my health goals have completely crapped the bed. this whole covid-19 shaking up the whole world. Just havent been motivated to eat right. I cant even find chicken or rice in my stores but can find twinkies and oreos...the struggle

poker has been stressful this month, but I got a plan and been grinding. I have been consistent with studying and playing. so I am on track for that at least. last weekend I took a few days off to clear my head but started fresh on monday. I was more relaxed and focused after that.

I don't know how some people can play like 7 hours straight must be exhausting.

so hopefully I can quit making some major mistakes and keep making the right plays

but yea till next time. I was bored so I thought i would write something...

Ok not a bad last week. I am making so many mistakes when I review hands its killing me. today I am going to review my biggest pots lost and see if I can improve. maybe I will post some of those and talk about my thought process.

but still trying to figure out how to stop my redline from tanking lol. any suggestions?

I didnt know if I should bet on the turn. I feel like Im repping AT A9 JT QT etc my bluffs would be these gut shots. when I am thinking of his range I mean he as AA AK that he could call on turn. then since i missed I thought this would be a good hand to bluff river with.

dont know much about blockers. maybe I block too much of his folding range?

my question is should I of XR this on flop..I think the size is small enough so i could barrell off. when he checks I think he is checking some over pairs and over cards like AK KQ maybe some 10x hands? I should of def bet here. but is this a good hand to barrell on river when he call and checks the river? do I block too much of his folding range? block enough of his calling range?

anyway lol when it goes check check I should of bluffed river. missed opportunities everywhere lol.

anyway had a good session last night won 3 buy ins. I was focused. Hopefully I keep this focus up. turn on the tunes and just think of my spots

IF anyone reads this I follow a doug polk gto approach to the game. I have been studying a lot of his trainings and other people stuff as well. so right now just trying to understand range vs range interaction. hopefully in time ill get better breaking this ish down lol

Nice thread, I have a similar one myself if you want to check it out. I’m currently playing 16nl on stars. I, like you have a full time job and can’t dedicate my life to poker but am trying to give it as much time as I physically can, also don’t really know anyone within the poker community to bounce ideas off and learn from. Everything so far is self taught and all from training videos. Keep working hard mate

I guess it’s an exploit that I found watching some old nick Howard videos. I bet my whole range for 33 percent on a lot of boards that disconnected. In this spot sb vs bb srp pfc ip I do it as well. I probably should of checked the flop because I have some type of value but it is what it is.

Only just seen your reply mate. 16nl I’m definitely still finding my feet, I play 2-3 regular tables so it takes time to get the volume in, probably only played 2k hands of 16nl but after last nights session I’m about 2.5BI in profit so far, it’s a little tougher but definitely still beatable, and still tonnes of fish. Luckily covid is still around so I’m getting plenty of poker time and it was attracting lots of terrible players. I think some of them may of got back to there busy lives now there’s still lots of 60/5 kind of players at the tables, are you based in the UK?
