Been playing seriously for 10 Months give or take. Joined an awesome coaching group about a month ago.

Been playing through Micros , from 4NL up to 25NL , at the moment at 10NL

Goals:


Short Time Goals(within the next month):
1- Play 6hrs/Day , 5days/week (On average) , so 30Hrs/week for start
2- Study 2Hrs/Day , 5Days/week (On Average) , 10Hrs or study/week.
3- Reach 25NL by end of April.
4- Start Going to Gym 1.5Hrs , 3Days/week
5- Get my sleeping schedule straight. Go to bed in like 01:00 and wake up 8:00 AM.
6- Monitor My Smoking amount (I smoke a lot of cigarettes atm :-( ) and reduce it.

I will report back to this thread in April 30th with the progress on the goals and to set new ones.

Long Term Goals (Within the next year):

1- Grind full-time
2- Beat 100NL and ready to take shots at 200NL
3- Work out some deals , investments etc to get the heck out of this country!!


Ultimate Goal: Become a Professional Poker Player and live a comfortable life. (considering you can live a very good life with $1000/Month where I live , that shouldn't be hard!)

Nah... Don't care.. Didn't go in it for trade or anything.. Just as an investment.. I will sell them 3-4 months later and don't give a F what happens during this time to the price

The last 24 hours people are protesting all over iran versus Regime so, as always , Internet access is f up everywhere..
I have a net access of Dial Up almost...
So, no volume for now. Thanks to government...

Update:
Internet issues so far didn't allow me to put in volume.. Less than 4K I guess...
Add to that, I've been sick for 2-3 days really bad.
So I hope I will have a better next week!
BUT, I did put in at least 2 hours of study everyday so I've got that right at least...

Having a coaching season today as well , Maybe I can put in some volume today...

God Internet is killing me.
every 5 firikin minute it gets disconnected! God I hate this **** hole called Country ...

OK It's time for an update. IT took a while and I didn't update as planned. Bu you can see why in the above posts.

Recently changed networks and trying to get used to the new one...

So how the goals are going so far?
Play 6 hours/day: :-( Internet issues... Not Even close!
Study 2Hrs/Day: So far I've done more than 2 hours/day on average and I'm happy about it... This on is right on!
Start Going to Gym 1.5Hrs , 3Days/week: Yeah this one haven't happened yet Maybe next week!? (Weekends in Iran are Thursday and Friday.. So next week means next Saturday
Get my sleeping schedule straight. Go to bed in like 01:00 and wake up 8:00 AM.: Game are good at nights... So I guess I should change the schedule.. But overall I'm struggling with it a bit.
Monitor My Smoking amount: I Monitored it and I came up with a number.. I smoke A LOT!!!! :-( Struggling as well


I might start posting some hands here as well... Guys at BTS group are more than enough to review everything tbh there aren't much hands left to discuss here

Moved up to 20NL . Actually added some 20NL tables to my regular 10NLs. played around 5K on 20NL with a winrate of 7bb/100 (6.8evbb/100)

Happy Nowroz Everybody.
Been a long time since my last update.
What happened?

So , I wanted to reach 25NL by end of April , Which I think was a calculation mistake... It's a LOOOOONG time for it! So I'm glad it didn't take that long!
I started playing 25NL regularly around 15th of February so been playing it for 37 days now.
Also took a shot at 50NL (around Feb 25th), didn't work out so moved down.
Changed networks as well (rake in Bet365 was crazy high!!!)
And a big change in my Routine , I got a new study partner in BTS group who is kind of a role model for me and I appreciate working with him. Learned a lot from him and we still study and talk on daily basis.

Been a long time since update.
The last month I literally had no PC to play/study with!
My laptop's main board had to change and the job got into some idiot guy's hand who delayed it this long!
I got it back just a few hours ago and ready to get in asap
I started going to gym last week and it's been very helpful so far

Despite my original thought that I wouldn't work directly with a solver until I hit 50NL, I recently became aware of the massive help it could do to your understanding and going to starr with solvers very soon.

In the time I didn't have a laptop I watched a lot of streams , mostly MTT guys.
I saw a massive amount of leaks in their play post flop (despite the fact they mostly play mid to high stake MTTs)
Hell, it wasn't even leak! It was soooo bad that I can tell you most of the MTT regs can't even beat NL25 cash!!! They are that bad!
I know they don't face a lot of post flop play in general but still shouldn't they get better for the arlier stages where stacks are 100+bb?
So guys who also play (or played) MTTs, what is your take on adding aome MTTs in the side while I grind cash?
Is it that hard to learn some pre-flop adjustments and ICM concepts?
Most cash game regs (I say anyone who can beat 10NL on a reasonable sample size) have postflop advantages over 90% of the pool so why not?
I know the time consumption of turnies, the variance etc...
Are they that big of a disadvantage?
At the end, is it hard for a cash game pro (200NL+) to become massively profitable at MTTs?

Mohsen, I used to enjoy reading your posts in cash game strategy. You seemed to have moved up pretty quickly, how did you do that?

Also, some pics or stories about life in Iran would be amazing. I'm surprised poker is even legal there. Probably it's a lot better than we are led to believe by the media.

Still playing 20-30NL games... I did took shots at 50NL but variance wasn't on my side so had to move down and for the recent laptop crisis + living costs had to cashout half my BR almost!
So no 50NL for awhile...

As how I moved up, I say hard work with Bluff The Spot team
I'm not going to advertise a lot :-D
Just that I think it's the best decision I've made pokerwise so far..


Poker is not legal in Iran. Better say every sort of gambling ia prohibited by Islam and Iran's laws are "supposedly" written from Quran!
But as long as you don't make any trouble for the top guys, nobody cares...

Nah.. Iran isn't what you see in western media..
It is a beautiful country with nice people, extremly rich nature, OKish civilization, safe
But it's being eaten up by 1% of people up top with all the power
No democracy whatsoever, no freedom and whatever you can expect from a dictatorship + add some BS laws that is "supposedly" Islamic, you won't have a nice mixture :-D
Fwiw, we are not Arabs (nothing against Arabs <3 ) , we have some similarities (mostly in religious things) but we are a lot different..

Nice to hear you won't get into trouble playing. Also so sick you're crushing now, seems like you have been committed to learning for a while so you deserve it.

Will you make some money then move to a more accepting country??

Had a lot of technical issues + last few months my relationship with my fiancée took some hit (nothing to do woth poker fwiw :-D ) and I was a bit depressed as well...
But I plan on making it up for the rest of 2018

Yes I want to move out.
I am a retired Network Engineer as well. And I do love computer and networking as well.
And in Iran if you ain't connectes to the top guys, they don't let yoy grow at anything!
That's why I'm kinda done with the local market and seeking income from outside!
I believe poker is a great way for me to move out.
But at the meantime, with 300-500$ a month I can live a very comfortable life here as well!

Haven't played much yet.
Again, goinf through a network change and waiting on a withdrawal... :-D

So I had a very rough month.
Broke up with my 4-year Girlfriend/Fiancee.
Got stuck in WPN DDOS Scandal for 14~20 days!

Finally moved to Microgaming and now playing there on 20NL pool.
Played like 10~15K hands overall since last update with decent results.
There will be no more graphs :-( MPN doesn't have HHs...

But I will update results.

Been awhile...
Results:
Played like 50K hands since last updatr.
Overall at 20NL had a 6bb/100 WR (I assume it would be higher EV wise.. No tracking tho)
Started taking shots at 50 again 2-3 days ago
(I feel) as always, worst runs of all time comes when I'm taking shots :-)
But this time I am more equipped.. More BIs for the shot(Thanks to BTS) so less variance dependent
Also started working with solvers and trying to get how solver thinks and understand it.
I think it's important to know the behavior of solvers and know the correct plays...
As a friend said : "More knowledge, less tilt"
Hopefully can hang in 50NL this time and become a reg there..

Question:
Do you guys prefer normal tables (with HUDs ) or anonymous?
Traffic-wise , I have to add some anon for my grind.
In your opinion what is the pros and cons?
I will post my 50cents on it later on
