Background
Okay I have deposited endless times but only small amounts. But now I am ready to take **** serious and finally build a decent sized roll to play 50NL or 100NL online and live. That is still very far away as I have a bankroll great enough to play 5NL at the moment. I have deposited $60 a month ago and built it up to $115. I decided it was time to invest in Hold'em Manager 2 to make sure that I build a roll this time and I do not have to deposit again. I excluded myself from playing anything higher than 5NL at the moment because I have experienced it too often that I throw it all away once I am on tilt.

The Gameplan
So at the moment I have played 2NL and a few tourneys. I am planning on playing 4 tables of Zoom and moving up once I have 40 stacks of the previous level plus 4-5 BI's of the next level to shottake. I will drop down as soon as the buyins for shottaking are gone. This would come down to:

2NL: $0-$105
5NL: $105-$250
10NL: $250 - $480
16NL: $480 - $765
25NL: $765 - $1250
50NL: $1250 - $2500
100NL: $2500 - $5000

First small update:

So I have played two sessions today and the overall result isn't that great.

The first session I ran great and managed to win close to 5 BI's which is a great bankroll boost.


The second session however went a bit worse.. Got in some really disgusting spots but also made some bad plays. However, I ran really bad and was 3 BI's below ev so that makes it at least a bit better knowing that I should have lost less.


I cashed in a 1000 Starcoins which atleast made it an increase in bankroll for today!

Day 2
So I played another session and it was not a good one.. I misplayed a few big hands but also was on the bad side of variance.. Lost a bit over 6 buyins and now I am back in a dilemma. Should I play 2NL again until I reach $100 or should I use the remaining $7 thats left for the shot and try to increase the br again.

Day 2 Part 2
So I decided to play until I hit lost 7$ which left me with $75. So that happend fairly quickly after losing a PFAI with AA to AKs. Then I chose to play 2NL to rebuild the roll. I am not that good with hold'em manager yet so I do not know how to show only the 2NL graph but I can show the total 2NL graph.

Okay I tilted my complete bankroll away when running 10 BI's under EV. Now I decided to deposit $20 and grind the micros using a 10 BI strategy. Will increase the BI strategy once reaching the lower stakes. Will update later today! I also purged my HEM to start of fresh and not get annoyed with the bad EV run I had previously. Will post graphs and hands later today!

Hey GL, I'd be more conservative with your bankroll if at all possible. Playing 5nl with 10BI is just asking to be tilted when you lose half your roll in a session.

Just remember it's not a race, it's better to spend 3 weeks at 2nl if you have to instead of repeatedly busting your roll at 5nl and having to start from scratch.

Thanks for the reply! Yes I still have to think into the BRM I think it does not really matter if you just stick to the strategy and actually drop down to 2nl when getting below $50. By the way I saw you yesterday at the tables haha, I told you I recognized you from 2+2! Will be following your thread too.

And yeah the bankroll stuff is really dependent on how you play, I'm a bit of a BRM nit & would get a bit stressed knowing I was constantly on the the verge of dropping down, but if it works for you I might give it a shot!

Small update

So I had my first session and ended up breaking even. Lost AA vs AKs PFAI and AK vs AJs PFAI which causes the graph to be below EV. I am playing quite aggressive preflop because the 2NL players are really nitty preflop. Will see if I can do some damage later this evening.

Finally in the green! Made a few BI's now but my internet connection is really unstable so therefore I stopped playing.. I am also thinking of not updating this PGC thread every session but just after every 5,000 hands or when I move up or get busto. I will update once I hit 10k hands.

Btw how is this chest system even close to the original rakeback system.. I opened more than 8 chests which earned me just over 100 starscoins.. When I was Silverstar I used to make so much more rakeback..
