Re: Finally moving on up?

Nothing really to update at the moment. Still got the poker aids and while posting a few beats felt better at the beginning I'm actually a little bored of it so I'll update things again when I've got my mojo back.

Best of luck to you Husker ! It's in those hard times that you can actually make a difference. Keep focusing on the process instead of the results.

I've looked at some spots and run some filters though and there are definitely clear signs that it's variance, for example my W@SD has dropped from 55% last year to 51%. One of the biggest things that jumped out was when I filtered for hands where I'd had either a flush draw or an open ended straight draw on the flop or turn. In the last 31 hands I've only binked my draw on 1 occasion (I excluded hands where villain had folded to my bets or where I'd folded at some point prior to showdown).

Also, not really poker related but I've started trying some Mindfullness stuff.

The KK hand I would check turn behind most often.
About the AQ hand. I think it's a (small) leak to call 3bets oop with AQ. Especially against regs... What are you hoping for really.
Yes, you feel like being exploited if you fold AQ to a 3bet and yes you most often have the best hand. But you can exploit regs in the same way by 3betting alot ip aswell... With solid reads you might 4bet sometimes.

Re: Finally moving on up?

Breaking my own promise already Haven't checked my results on FTP for the year so far but I think I've may be been around breakeven. I could be wrong but I'll check at the end of the month.

However after another shocker of a session on Party I checked my results there. Year so far:

That's just over -14bb/100

Only played a small session of 300 hands but in the first hundred I had the following:

89K all in on flop with 89 v AA and lost to a rivered set
AQ on 5KQ flop against A5 and the turn and river were A5 giving him a boat
KQ in SB v BB villain who is 3betting me 23% (over 43 possible opportunities). I 4bet him the round before in the same spot and folded to his shove, decided I was calling if he done i again and sure enough he shoved again.....and had AA

I never actually won any hands at SD till right at the end of the session

Down 3.5bi when I quit.

Back to FTP for the rest of the night.

btw, your KQ hand doesn't match with your 100% 4bet success stat... Just saying...

It's impressive how you manage to not watch results for such long periods of times. I guess it's just an habit..?

GL on FTP then !

Re: Finally moving on up?

It's a tough business. Shame to see those results. You clearly run bad given the breakeven blue line (blue line depends on EV too).

And I'd not be folding much vs that 95/3 guy. Imagine all the **** he has in his range.

You're right, I got my hands mixed up and that happened near the end of the session. The one that happened earlier was a QQ v AK spot where villain took a weird spewy line with his AK as the preflop raiser and of course binked on the river.

I actually find it easier not to check my results when I'm losing. There's a difference between knowing you are running badly and are down and the reality of actually seeing how bad it is. So I can leave it and not bother too much. I find I'm more likely to check my results when I winning a lot

Yeah my blue line generally goes up at 45 degrees so when that isn't happening then I'm in trouble.

Blinds play is something I need to work more on, especially the Big Blind, and it's on my to do list.

It's hard to get the results for 6max only in HEM2 so I've filtered my results for between 4-6 players so this will include some hands that were played at FR tables when they were short. This is for all the hands (on FTP) I've got on my database so it goes back to August last year. I'm losing the following:

SB -18.56bb
BB -38.41bb

When I filter for this year only I get the following:

SB -13.37bb
BB -46.02bb

Those are my results on FTP, where most of my volume is. When I look at my results on Party Poker I'm getting the following:

SB -31.09bb
BB -60.81bb

The AQ hand isn't always a call but the villain had such a wide range in this spot, as you can see from his holding, that I don't think calling is too bad here and I think it's just a bit too strong to 4bet bluff. I'd prefer a worse Ax hand for that.

Re: Finally moving on up?

Found these hands amusing (well after the second one anyway ) given it was the same 68/17 villain, and the hands we had in each of them were pretty similar. Think the second hand only took place 3 hands after the first.
