Seen someone refer to them as coffins the other day. Which seemed kinda appropriate

Read on another thread you suffer from acid reflux. I had that for a number of years and then it just disappeared as quick as it came. I've never had it again, not once.

It always related to eating though. I just basically gave up any sort of midday meal; b/fast and evening meals only became my way of life and still is.

You should see a doctor if you can't clear it up yourself, because it can lead to complications if you put up with it for a long time.

Another brutal session with a few stacks gone

Doesn't matter how strong my hand is at the moment, I've just had a set of aces cracked, for the 2nd time, by a whale who cold called a 3bet with K3s. Although I'm losing to pretty much everyone at the moment I've lost a large amount (maybe even most of it?) to whales and fish, which is slightly reassuring in a way. They can't continue sun running against me.

Cheers. I've actually just been playing less recently rather than battling through it. The breaks are good.

Started a session this morning and this was the very first hand. There almost wasn't a second one

Bit of a crappy month. My volume was down and I didn't do any work on my game due to the downswing. I just decided to do something else instead and even got the guitar out for the first time in a while (which was a bad beat for the neighbours ). Hopefully the recovery at the end of the month will continue

Also, I went to see this movie and would recommend it

Saw Dunkirk in one of those motion seats in the O2 on Sunday. I thought it was great, although as ex RAF obviously I thought the flying sequences were all bollo...but still great movie, Tom Hardy nailed his part as usual.

Also took the missus to see Celine Dion, stayed in the O2 intercont, ate street food in Borough Market and Greenwich Village...

Bankroll and diet busted

Brutal month but you will be on an upswing soon, just the way things work. It is a defo motivation killer to play when things are heading south. I usually know when I am down-swinging and I just dont bother to check HEM for a while so it doesnt tilt me as much.

And yeah Coffins are a good word for them Stars rewards. I lost motivation to open them so I just saved them all up until end of the month and got them out the way all at once.

Haven't really done any off table work last month. I've read Janda's new book though and started adding a couple of things to my game so I'll look at doing more of that. I bought Snowie as it was on sale so I'll make use of it at some point to kinda clarify some concepts (avoiding the areas it isn't great).

I'd definitely check out Dunkirk if I were you.

Is it bad that I wouldn't recognise Tam Hardy if he passed me on the street? Had to rely on the g/f to tell me that's who the pilot was.

Seeing Celine Dion has to be a bit of a beat surely?

Aye I didn't check my results for a while. Been through my fair share of downswings over the years so I decided just to chill this time and put in less volume. It was definitely a good move.

Tell me about it...had to sit through Michael Buble last year as well, ffs. Played a little 10nl today just to keep my hand in while I'm away from my rig...saw a Fatboy playing and remembered your post.

Completely OT but did everyone see the banner at the Legia game commemorating the Warsaw uprising in 1944?

Pretty hard hitting and I'm sure there's a Uefa fine coming there way. Pretty sure they won't gaf about it either.

I follow alot of football stuff on twitter so I seen that Legia banner in my twitter feed, was thinking wtf when I seen it.

Pretty sure Celtic got a bye into the next round of Champs Lg qualifying one year cos that mob fielded an ineligible player vs us. I cant see them winning any new friends at Uefa with banners like that.

In their defence, they're only stating the historical facts. Uefa will definitely fine them for it though.

I'll try to get back to saving some hands to post. Enjoyed this one though, it's clearly one of the unwritten rules of online poker that when a table is closing down you must always 3bet an SB open and try to take the pot down before the table closes.

Back from Rome, where it was DAMN hot. Still enjoyed it though.

Some pics

Chilling on the rooftop terrace of the hotel

Piazza Navona

These ruins are used as a cat sanctuary. You can't walk around them but you can go down to the office etc and they were trying to talk as into adopting a blind cat! We made our excuses and left (after leaving a donation)

The Pantheon is still the most impressive building I've ever seen. Everyday we'd have a drink in the square here and do some people watching. The alcohol may be to blame for the dodgy angle of the pic

Our favourite bar. They do a great Old Fashioned

An unusual flavour of ice cream

We never bothered going to the Colosseum or the Forum as it was too damn hot and there's not much shade there. We've seen them both before though so we never missed out. We did do something new this time though that I'd highly recommend and that was tours of the Forum of Augustus and Forum of Julius Caesar at night. Both are done with a multimedia display that lights up some of the features, while it explains them and also projects computerised images onto some of the buildings to reconstruct them and show how they'd have looked. It's a great way of getting a feel for everything. The picture below is pretty poor but it shows an image projected on a wall showing how it would've looked

Definitely a partner, you'd both love it. It's got lots of squares with bars and restaraunts around them and the best place for heading at night (imo) is the Trastevere. It's lots of tightly packed cobbled streets with bars and restaraunts. The streets are really busy, probably because the bars are so small so people are drinking outdoors as well as just mingling around. It's all very chilled though. The pics below are from the Trastevere but don't really give a true impression of how many bars etc are there,I think I was taking pics of the quiter spots.

For part of the year they also have a load of bars, restaraunts and stalls etc along the banks of the Tiber. Think it goes on for over a mile
