Thanks. That's exactly how I played them. I'm assuming he had something like AK in the 2nd hand as I took it down on a board with no broadways.

Re: Finally moving on up?

Gotta say since I spent a few hours going through my preflop game it's increased my confidence. I'd never really sat down and worked things out since I made the switch to 6max so it previosly felt as though I was kinda winging it.

Ah, I remember now.

No, I was just wondering why you were at 25nl. The last thing I need is regs dropping down to my level.

There was actually a lot more than that but you can't cut and paste the chat on Party.

I only have a 48 hand sample on him at that point so I can imagine things will only get worse. Which should be fun...

I've never really understood it as I never use chat. I do enjoy it though

Also, it may just be coincidence but the majority seem to be German, like my new friend above.

1) 1st hand from tonight's session (against unknown) didn't bode well...

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php

SB ($59.48)
Hero (BB) ($25)
UTG ($70.26)
MP ($26.01)
CO ($25.20)
Button ($24.25)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K, K
1 fold, MP raises to $0.75, CO calls $0.75, 2 folds, Hero raises to $3.20, MP raises to $26.01 (All-In), 1 fold, Hero calls $21.80 (All-In)

Flop: ($50.85) K, 8, 8 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Turn: ($50.85) A (2 players, 2 all-in)

River: ($50.85) 3 (2 players, 2 all-in)

Total pot: $50.85 | Rake: $2.54

Hero had K, K (full house, Kings over eights).
MP had 8, 8 (four of a kind, eights).
Outcome: MP won $48.31

2) Same villain, who turned out to be super aggro preflop

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (5 handed) - Full Tilt Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com

MP ($68.77)
Hero (Button) ($29.45)
SB ($115.97)
BB ($26.82)
UTG ($25.77)

Preflop: Hero is Button with J, Q
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.62, SB raises to $2.11, 1 fold, Hero calls $1.49

Flop: ($4.47) J, 2, 2 (2 players)
SB bets $4.47, Hero calls $4.47

Turn: ($13.41) 10 (2 players)
SB bets $5.25, Hero raises to $22.87 (All-In), SB calls $17.62

River: ($59.15) 5 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: $59.15 | Rake: $2.95

Hero had J, Q (two pair, Jacks and twos).
SB had K, 10 (two pair, tens and twos).
Outcome: Hero won $56.20

I also got involved in a battle with another very aggro player who was 3betting me around 40%. I was however at a distinct disadvantage as he was on my immediate left on the 3 tables we were together. Came out on top though (House player FTW!)

Re: Finally moving on up?

Dude as soon as you've got a bankroll for the 50nl games start taking shots them imo. Honestly think they might be softer than the 25nl games

For example

Full Tilt - $0.50 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: $50.00 (VPIP: 30.03, PFR: 20.14, 3Bet Preflop: 2.86, Hands: 297)
MP: $46.75 (VPIP: 53.85, PFR: 7.69, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 13)
CO: $50.00 (VPIP: 26.26, PFR: 21.01, 3Bet Preflop: 6.21, Hands: 372)
BTN: $51.25 (VPIP: 26.43, PFR: 17.00, 3Bet Preflop: 3.52, Hands: 607)
Hero (SB): $171.80
BB: $19.90 (VPIP: 25.95, PFR: 23.61, 3Bet Preflop: 12.17, Hands: 292)

Hero posts SB $0.25, BB posts BB $0.50

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.75) Hero has K A

UTG raises to $1.25, MP calls $1.25, fold, fold, Hero raises to $5.50, fold, UTG calls $4.25, MP calls $4.25

Flop: ($17.00, 3 players) K 4 5
Hero bets $8.20, UTG raises to $22.00, fold, Hero calls $13.80

Turn: ($61.00, 2 players) 4
Hero checks, UTG bets $22.50 and is all-in, Hero calls $22.50

River: ($106.00, 2 players) 6

UTG shows J A (One Pair, Fours)
(Pre 25%, Flop 3%, Turn 0%)
Hero shows K A (Flush, Ace High)
(Pre 75%, Flop 97%, Turn 100%)
Hero wins $103.00

Nice

Assuming I'm back to winning again then I plan on taking a shot next month. I actually sat at a 50nl table by mistake last week and I already had 2 of the players tagged as fish. Was tempted to stay...

The majority of the volume was at full ring where I won at 5.24bb. I also had roughly 70k hands at 6 max where it was 3.43bb

Ok cool that's solid. How's 50nl going results wise and how are you finding the differences in games? And villains?

Haven't moved up yet. I plan to do it at some point next month. Still trying to get accustomised to 6 max but I'm getting there.

Re: Finally moving on up?

Ok fair enough
I personally find it more aggressive and less total fish. Table selection is much more important.

Yeah 6 max is much more aggro
