KK <<< 24s
AA <<< J9s
QQ<<< 77

I actually found this hand the most frustrating though. It was against the villain who stacked me with J9s and took place just a few hands later. In my mind karma was ensuring the return of the buy in I'd just shipped to him

Last 2 days

Rivered a set, which also brought villain's J7 a straight
Flopped trips and villain triple barrels and binks his 2 outer boat on the river
A few 3bet pots where I have a slightly worse hands (JJ << QQ, JJ << AQ etc)

I think I need to review my play in 3bet pots as it feels as though I'm losing time after time in them. As I posted above I seem just to have a slightly worse hand a lot of the time and I'm not sure if it's variance or bad play. I did notice one hand where I called with KQ and the flop was King high and villain had AK. Looking at this positional stats though it should really have been a fold preflop against him. Will maybe look into it a bit more over the weekend.

Still being rivered hand after hand after hand. Rather than post them though I thought I'd post 2 hands I won.

1) For a change I had an absolute dream river. Villain must've been fuming but I don't have the chat on so I don't know if anything was said

Quick question for anyone who's still reading. What's your winrate on the button when you filter for between 4-6 players and the pot is unopened? Also the results for the same filter but you include that you are opening preflop?

winrates cant be compared and it is a mistake to compare.
why ?
example:
compare vs river cbet.. normally it should be negative
but someone has it positive.... this would mean he play good river? maybe? but also it might mean he folds too much on turn.

even best database analysers do such mistakes ... and to get an answer for your questions you need a sample of players like 1 milion and each of them to give his answer.

Nevertheless:

28k hands, 10nl, 6max Zoom:

Unopened BTN: 14.14 bb/100
When I open: 31.64 bb/100

48k hands, 5nl, 6max Zoom/Reg:

Unopened BTN: 11.01 bb/100
When I open: 24.51 bb/100

26k hands, 2nl, 6max Zoom/Reg:

Unopened BTN: 45.55 bb/100
When I open: 91.01 bb/100

Just to be clear, the amount of hands played is total at the stake, not hands played from the button.

As you know I mostly play untracked on Uni, but for the 888/Stars/MPN hands I have for a small sample of 4NL-10NL (mix of fast and regular) in the last 2 years (with an overall winrate of 5bb/100) I've got button EV winrates of
Unopened: 34.5bb/100
Opened: 96bb/100

At 2NL, both figures were significantly higher. The stats for Zoom were much lower.

FWIW I think I attempt steals OTB less often than most regs, but I'm not sure if I could increase the winrate much by opening wider.

Regarding the button winrates, mine is terrible on Party and I think this may be down to me not adjusting properly to facing more aggresive blind play.

I'm only winning 20.42bb which is at least 10bb below where I'd want to be

In an unopened pot it's 17.4bb

When I open it's 34.07bb. In this spot I've got a sample of just over 5k hands on the button and my winrate peaked after 2.7k hands and has been breakeven since then. Hmmmm

Yeah I just had to take it. I'm down 2bi for the month overall, which is disappointing.

Really difficult for me to raise fold in that spot (in any spot on the river to be fair ). I was telling myself that with his range being so wide it was possible he had KT, KJ.

I'll keep fighting. I've just looked at my results and I've played 117k hands at Party (all 6 max) and I'm a losing player, which is difficult to take. I wish I could change the thread title to 'Making the switch to 6max', I think I jinxed the thing. Anyway, good luck in your own game and hop you get back to crushing.

It's definitely not my usual line but villain bets 100% versus a missed turn barrel so I thought I'd take this line instead and if he folded I'd look at doing it with semi-bluffs etc in the future. My inner nit wanted to test things with a value hand though.

Wow, I've just (accidentally) picked up on something pretty incredible while looking at HEM.

It feels as though it's gotta be wrong but when I check some hand histories I can't find anything wrong. Anyway, to show what it is, here's my graph for all my hands at Party. I'm actually a few buy ins better off than the graph shows as it doesn't pick up the first hand at every table.

Now, here's my graph when I filter for 4-6 players:

And finally here's my graph for 2-3 handed

I'm actually genuinely stunned to discover this. I don't start tables or really play short handed when a table's breaking unless there's a fish there and even then I don't hang around to battle much. On the one hand I actually feel kinda good about it as it's an easy leak to plug but it's incredibly bad to look at.

FWIW, I vaguely recall a 20k sample (so about 3500 hands in each seat) where I somehow lost money on the button, but was profitable in both blind positions. #variance.
