Sup everyone. I'm from Jersey in the US and plan to get back into poker after taking a break for 5-6 years. I'm 30 y/o correctional police officer and currently I put in for a schedule request so I can work (2) doubles + (1) single shift so I only have to work 3 days a week. That would put some balance in my life between work/social life/gym/poker. In terms of poker i used to be a cash game grinder but im down to try something new and play some cash on the side. Essentially my journey would be starting from low stakes and build up a roll so I can play $30-$50 tournaments online and start playing some live cash games. The combination of the two with decent volume could be some good money. Short term goal is to deposit $300-$600 between all sites I can play MTTs on and start from there. I work full time so If i need to deposit another $500 idc. Looking for motivation/feedback on here thanks in advance.

The tournaments I play are around 150-300 players so it's lower variance relatively speaking. Either way been very fortunate with increasing my BR significantly. Appreciate it man.

One of my buddies staked me for a $21 hyper rebuy 8k gtd at midnight tonight and at 2030 $11 rebuy for 7.5k. I normally play 2k gtds so im willing to give up 50% for those. Seems reasonable. I'll update my thread during my breaks if I go deep.

Got destroyed tonight. Stood no chance. Couldn't win a flip to save my lyfe. Standard. Except nothing less after running hotttt last 2 weeks. Essentially tonight my stake sent me money through app so it was like withdrawing money out so added in withdrawals so I dont put it in as lost money.

Hands
- No real interesting hands, just lost like every flip. Ill be reviewing the tournaments during the week so I'll get back to you guys. I can def work on my 20bb stack game. Think I might have defended some 3b shoves kinda light. Def some tilt calls, losing mad flips is not always easy to deal with.

On my 1.3k roll I'm playing up to $6.60r for MTTs and up to $20 for 9 man turbos/hypers. How is this for brm? Play around 6-8 sngs at once and load up 11-12 MTTs when I play em. Most of my volume is from the sngs though.

This is an auto 3 bet shove pf at your stack size. Def on the flop. At 19bb there are very few hands/spots you flat call pf.

Any stats on opening % from UTG+1 at that position?

Generally speaking AQo+ and TT+ is my shoving range here. AJs and 88 are the few hands I'm flatting.

I would be more inclined to flat AJs and toss 88. But yeah I guess either way it's a marginal spot with them. Thx for the response man.

GL dude, you seem to have a good work ethic and a good outlook on life. Definitely +EV to play small fields when you are starting out your roll and minimize variance.

I agree with Mr Spyutastic that the hand above is a shove pre. Generally ~20 bb look to reshove or fold over any open, I'm almost never flatting off these stack sizes (minus defending the BB). In this specific spot I'm probably shoving something like 88+ AJs+ AQo+ KQs intuitively, but would be helpful to look at it in ICMizer or HRC.

Keep posting hands on here and it will help you improve.

Seems fine, I follow this: https://www.pocketfives.com/f7/sng-m...-guide-378221/ for a conservative/good BRM strategy.

Thanks a lot man. I've been through a lot to get to this point but yeah small field has been great. So much easier to cash etc. average field is around 200-250 players I would say.

Totally agree with u guys. I've been making a ton of mistakes preflop and when I'm on FT's I am pretty aggressive postflop which usually means I end up with a huge stack or go out early. This has to do with my background playing cash games for so long. With that being said, my reshoves/ defend range needs some adjustments since I'm still in the transitioning phase.

I've been trying to review my own tournament like review every single hand but I can't find a good replayer. I downloaded universal replayer but Java is blocking the pop up or whatever and I can't seem to figure it out. On HEM I don't believe I can review the whole tournament as it doesn't display from start to finish.

In any case will def be reviewing n uploading many hands.

Don't worry, give it time, keep reviewing and keep playing small buy ins getting a lot of hands in and you will keep improving your reshoving/short stack game.

I don't know about HEM (I use PT4) but I'm sure there is a way to generate a report of hands from a tournament

H1- your 3 bet sizing is too small. Also bet smallernon river like 1/3 pot.

H2 - Open ATo+, 66+, KJo+ 98s+, A2s+

H3 - Shoving 22+, ATo+, T9s+, KJo+, QJo+
If table is tight KTo might slip in. it's real close depending on the table.

Agreed, would size up on hand #1 to 3.5-4x. River bet is on the big side, I think there's an argument for half pot but I wouldn't go more than half pot there because think about what parts of his range you're targeting.

Here's a push/fold chart to give you an idea of GTO shoving ranges 15 BB or less: https://floattheturn.com/wp/pushfold/
