This streak has got to end sometime, in the meantime I'll just ride it out.

I ended up taking the 4 day weekend, just couldn't make myself play Fri. Got drunk and had fun Sat, took mom out for a nice dinner Sun. I was starting to feel better about ****ing things up with whatsherface and ready to reapply myself to work this week, first day of the rest of my life and all that crap. Now, after getting crushed again (played 900, got 100 back, 29 losing days in a row) I can't even bring myself to look at tomorrow's slate. My hhead is just so completely ****ed right now, I don't know what to do. I might seriously be done with baseball this year. After my big week I was looking at the rest of this year as a freeroll, now all of a sudden there's some pressure to win at football, or a least not drop $20K, which would leave me in the same ****ty position next year I started this year in.

You are playing the absolute highest-variance donkfests that are offered. Did you really think the swings would be any different? What is your ROI in the squeeze/rally and what do you think a realistic top ROI is?

No doubt

Different than what? I know it's a roller coaster, but I haven't had a winning day since 7/8, which is beyond redonkulous. Looking at account balances the other day made me feel a lot better about all of this, but it's still frustrating, even if the stakes aren't as high as they've been for me the last couple years (where this might have killed independent Jimmy).

I don't know my ROI, it changes so much from month to month and even year to year that I don't really care. I will say that it was unsustainably high in 15' and this year, and hopefully I underperformed in 16/17. I'd guess 20-30% is possible, I'm probably in the 15-20 range.

This downswing is really just more annoying than anything else. If I were playing higher volume and simply running bad and down $15K in this time it would be no big deal. As is it "feels" like a lost cause. My bigger issue at the moment is I seem to be smack dab in the middle of a mid-life crisis. Getting lit up every time I try to work is just a small part of what is feeding that.

If you told me 6 weeks ago that I'd be done with MLB DFS for the year now, had asked a stripper to marry me, and was heading to a shrink on Mon (for the first time in my life) I'd say you were insane. But here we are.

I'm just digging in now. I'll post some stuff early next week that will be a lot more educated than anything I could now.

Could I ask you where you find your NFL information from? I've been watching for a good 6/7 years now, quite religiously too I must add. But I don't dare to even touch the fantasy section of this sport.

I understand if you dont want to share this and good to see you're still updating man. One of my favorite threads here.

For DFS I think knowing how to construct a portfolio of lineups is more important than anything else. I read/listen to several trusted sources to come up with most of my player pool each week. Guys that have their finger on the pulse and live this **** like I (usually) live baseball.

As far as the thread, I figure at this point I'll keep it going in some form until I move on to something else, get rich, or 2+2 dies. I'm glad you still enjoy it.

life update- I know I've posted some crazy off topic **** that no one cares about, here's more:

I was really skeptical about therapy. I wanted to walk out of there thinking how ****ing stupid the whole thing is and that I didn't need it, but I felt it was productive. I'll be sticking with it, at least for a few weeks. No thorzine script as of yet.

My pathetic attempt of a breakup text didn't take, we've been talking a lot. I have no idea wtf I'm doing with this girl. guess I'll save the details for the head shrinker...

I put off research (working) as long as I could, but I got motivated this weekend and I'm ready to start building tonight. These next 60 hours will be my busiest all year, so not much time, but I wanted to pop in here before KO.

Disappointed in DK and FD for killing the Thur-Mon slate. These 1 game ****fest slates are probably worse for DFS than Ethan, nice job!

I'm always optimistic about the start of a new season, esp football, but now I'm in position to really set myself up for a few years with a big weekend. I think I'm ready to work this like never before, maybe I'll get lucky

I've built few lineups so far, mostly just playing around with the cap, but these last two stuck out to me as the kind to attack the top heavy stuff with.

gl to anyone playing

those are all guys ive been mixing in. have a lot more diggs than thielen, and not a ton of mixon, though, but I like the builds

Seems like your completely avoiding chalk with those 2 lineups. I can see a scenario where if you don't have 1 of AB/Connor/Gronk/Hogan/Kamara in a lineup, you have no shot at winning. I can easily see any of them crushing their price tag

Yeah I have a lot of all those guys (tho I'm sure I'll be underweight on AB and Kamara, maybe Conner). But I'm playing a lot in the 25%-33% to 1st donkfests on FD, so trying to be different. There's gonna be so many Kamara/Conner pairings, and I have some for sure, but I like what I can do with other guys too.

Guys I think I'll be overweight on:

DJ (using more of him than Kamara, so likely way overweight)
Alex Collins- pairs great with the Chalk D, but I don't think the pairing will be as chalky as it should be.
Fournette/Jax D
Hyde (way over)

Green
Allen (I'll be way over on him)
Hill
Funchess (way over)
Sanders
Stills
Tyrell
Ross

Lots of Hogan and Diggs, not sure just how popular they'll be though

Mixing it up at TE, lots of Gronk, Reed, Doyle, Njoku, RSJ, and ASJ who I'm using in place of Keelan Cole in many spots.

QB in order of usage

Dalton

Rivers
Cam

Brady
Watson
Maholms
Tygod
Brees

Lesser shares of Cousins, Ben, Keenum, Fitz

So many great options for this slate, but I'm not crazy about QB when factoring in ownership and price. Dalton is by far my fav play.

The process is going smoothly but haven't even started on DK yet, gonna be a long night.

Another disappointing week 1, just not a total aXX ****ing like the last 2 years. I was right about a lot, a few top 100's, so close yet so far away:

Played about $720 on DK, so -$820. I'm officially past 2 months w/o a winning day now, meh.

Lost $200 on DK, so about -$2500 on the season.

I put off building lineups as long as I could this week, did everything on Sat. I can't seem to focus, I'm just going through the motions at this point. If I didn't have a six week trip planned for Jan/Feb I'd be looking for a job tomorrow. If I don't snap out of this mental funk soon I'll be done.

I guess I'm retired because I'm moving to Key West and so what I once called my bankroll now needs to be savings. I'm about to turn 46 and I've never been happier or more optimistic about my future.

If it's not too late for a miserable loser like me to find happiness none of you mother ****ers have an excuse.

Congratulations. Key West is one of my favorite places on the planet.

I recommend guacamole plantain chips and beer at Pepe by Malory SQ at sun set.

Not sure what could be a better way to spend and afternoon.
