Didn't realize that SCOOP was starting on Sunday over on Pokerstars.es/.fr. Going to grind some of those events as motivation to get me grinding longer sessions/more days over here on stars.com.

I plan, health permitting, to play every day between now and April 11th. Going back to last Tuesday, if I indeed don't take any days off between now and Apr 11, I'll wind up playing 29 of 30 days in a row. I've normally had success during stretches of time where my life is basically just grind + study, so it'll be interesting to see if I can pull myself out of this rut .

Past couple days have gone quite well at low-midstakes, those avg roi's are nice! Hoping to keep it going even if the bigger games don't go as well .

About to take a fast shower and then meet up with Tgiggity at the brewery/sushi bar. Have a massage tonight in 3 hours and then plan to just put a lot of study in. Tomorrow I might skip the sat grind to instead put more study in before jumping in for the normal friday afternoon-evening 25bb + 25bb SKO...we'll see.

Mehhh, not much funning going on. Just a bit here and there. Been grinding but not as hard as last year. Not really feeling 100% yet. Thanks for thinking of me

__________________________________________________

So, been a bit with no update. Part of it is just due to nothing that exciting going on. The grind is pretty boring nowadays with the really low abi and low traffic. Kind of just going through the motions and haven't had anything fun to report.

Also had some really huge IRL drama go on in March. Some readers that I talk to on Skype know the story/some of the story, but not going to get into it in here. Multiple people that heard the story said something to the effect of 'holy ****, that's the kind of **** you see in movies.'

Anyhow, I've been grinding as much as I can although I still get fatigued a lot more quickly than before I started having my heart and anxiety issues pop up last September. Mostly just have to listen to my body and grind as much as I can without overexerting. It's a bit annoying though as I feel like I haven't gotten back into my normal rhythm and there's not much I can do about it.

I did finally personally make some money in March as I play the lower stake stuff on my own. I'm glad with my decision to go back to playing sats during peak as they are much easier to click away at than the full out 25bb grind. I am however still running way the **** under EV at absolutely everything but low stake 6m hyper sats. Annoying but it's more annoying that I'm not capable of pumping out some ridiculous volume to help get me out of the downswing faster!

March Results overall and broken down by stakes

Oh yea, I did forget about the $1000 chest I got the other day

Ah and have beefed up security in my place. Here's the camera at the main door and then additionally have 3 more cameras inside my place. Have the app attached where I can see what's going on from anywhere, anytime. Pretty nice and I probably should have done this a while back tbh.

In a few hours I'm heading out to the brewery/sushi bar that is right down the street from where I live and where I held my bday dinner. They're having a Bob Marley tribute show tonight, should be a good time . Vivi is coming out as soon as the babysitter gets to her place to watch her son and I believe tgiggity, bfizz11 + fer + camera crew, thelipofund and Shana + other homies are all coming out....should be a great time!

On that topic, huge shoutout to TheLipoFund for shipping nearly $1mirrion last Sunday; what a boss . Hope to cya tonight at the cerveceria broski

Ended up being a pretty solid grind weekend in terms of volume. I missed all of peak on Saturday due to the event on Friday night + Vivi spending the night, but I played sats during the bounty 55 + 33 speedway slot and then switched over to 25bb/25bb SKO afterwards. Had a nice day and had great EV which made it even better.

Sunday I took a beating all day long. Another 20k chips under EV at 16mans (500 starting stacks) and 45 buyins under EV at 6max sats. Never ideal, but I'm glad I stuck it out and put forth a full Sunday

Lol here's some snaps from Bfizz's instagram the night of the concert. Vivi was the only person to man up and eat a scorpion with me

Sooo, April starts today. Ruseman and I booked a bet for April on who plays the most SNG hands. We're both looking for extra motivation to get back into grinding hard mode. I think it's going to be perfectly timed as we can both try to go really in April and still have time to rest back up for the start of SCOOP on May 12th. I'll have to keep a rolling log going every few days here ITT and maybe can get Ruseman to post in his or post here...will have to ask him!

Going to go lay back down for a bit and then get up to start my day. 25bb grind today and then have some errands to run and might be seeing Minnie. She's finally not a teenager, turned 20 on Saturday . GLA on the grind

Well, not the best way to start the month at all hehe . -7k in 12 500s/1ks, that's where the loss is from.

Did get a ton of study in though and am starting to dive deeper into some 25bb PIO related **** finally. Am excited for the grind tomorrow, hopefully I'll start running better one of these days!

Very happy with the effort I put in today and am hoping that today represents what nearly every single day of the month looks like. I got in my sat + mtt session and then basically went straight to 25bb and played until I had to go pick up my Durango and meet up with a buddy for dinner to get USD. Getting home now and about to do a few hours of study and then will try to get to bed.

Prob starting a bit later than normal tomorrow as Wednesday is usually quite slow, but we'll see.

Feeling the rhythm now and think, health permitting, I'm going to have myself dialed in for the next months to come. Hopefully the results keep coming...def feel like my daily EV is higher now than it has been in some time and feeling decent with my play across all 4 SNG formats. Tomorrow Vivi might be coming over and therefore will take the evening off of the study grind. Planning 4 big grinds between Thurs-Sun. Fully expect to get in 4k+ games during the next 4 days.

LS games have been going well for me the past little bit now, so at least I'm seeing some profit for myself even if the overall graph isn't pretty. Hoping to keep that up and also crawl out of my midstakes MU which is something like 15k due to that silly downswing at $100 25bb and $100 25bb SKO.

I'm probably drawing dead in my bet against Ruseman for most SNG hands played this month as my hands/hour is much lower during the 25bb hours compared to the 6m/16m sat hours. And I've been playing as many hours of 25bb Mon-Fri as I have been sats, whereas Ruseman grinds the sats every session he plays.

I guess it could be close as I plan to play every single day this month and I'm sure he'll take at least 1 day off a week. Either way, going to be super worth it as the extra effort I put in is going to add up to a lot of additional EV.

Nice job man one thing I always admire about you is that you trust in the results if you work hard. I’ve long thought if I outwork everyone else it overcomes whatever leaks I have relative to other players. That’s always been true, too (unless I was in a period where I was drinking/using too much).

Def get with the health grind man, you want to live a long life and you for sure have the time and work ethic to dictate results. It’s all habit and once you change them I think with your personality that maintaining is easy. Remember our body is one big machine and a healthy body will for sure helo curate a healthy mind.

I was just looking thru old HEM forums looking for an answer and you are in there (this is from years back) bitching about a red line for a specific type of mtt haha. That’s why I came to post in here.

Give Rosarito my love, i was down there in 2014 for 6 months. I was sober during my time there but I just loved it. I heard about you while I was there actually but our paths never crossed (I pretty much kept to myself besides a few guys). Yaqui’s are still easily the best tacos I’ve ever had, met some guys I ended up staying in touch with, couldn’t live there long term but I see how it suits you.

Late and rambling here, good luck on the grind. You write well and the blog is entertaining, you write straight from the hip and don’t pull punches - that’s nice.

Heyo, thanks much for the post, put a big smile on my face all around. @HEM forum, that sounds like something the old me would do .

Too bad we never ran into each other down here in Rosa, if you ever come down for a quick hit n run/weekend/whatever, definitely hit me up and we'll have to meet up for some food or something like that.

If you've posted recent updates I'm a bit behind on reading your PGC, but nice work so far and am enjoying the read .

Did indeed get a solid grind in today, quite tired though! Hoping to study for a few hours and then planning to get a late start tomorrow as sat traffic usually pretty withered on Friday anyway. Prob starting with Bounty 109 instead of the normal Mon-Fri 9am start 15 mins before Hot 82 starts.

EV was good everywhere, hopefully it will be a good weekend!

Edit: Sorry for the lack of interesting updates, just not much going on as I'm only grinding and studying tbh . Also always have sooo much study to do that I am just wanting to do a quick hit n run on my posts...each day the past week I have come nowhere close to studying everything I wanted to study that specific day and that streak won't be ending tonight either lulz

Do you take breaks during your sessions?

Also, what motivates you to keep going? After playing for 2 hours I just want to do something else.

It depends.

Mon-Sat
During the hyper sat + mtt grind I tend to not really take any sync breaks. I play from around 8:30am until 2pm my time and then usually take that 1:55 sync break. At that point I either switch right to 25bb and continue loading sat games for the $530 supersonic, or I take an actual break and play my MTTs on my phone/laptop while I eat something and chill for a bit in the living or dining room.

25bb I play anywhere from 1.5-5 hour sessions. I'd say my average session is something like 2.5 hours now at the format. Really just depends on how the traffic is, who is playing, what I have going on for the evening, etc.

Sunday
I usually play 7am-4pm my time. 30 mins before Bounty 215 until end of late reg for 109 cooldown + 215 sonic. I usually take 1 sync break during the grind and that's it. Either the 8:55am break or 1:55pm break.

In terms of motivation, Ruseman and I have discussed it before and I essentially just have more natural love for the game than most players. Most people might enjoy poker enough to where it doesn't feel like a job, but it probably isn't one of their actual favorite activities. For me, there are very few things I'd rather do in life than play or study poker. The short list of things that I find as much enjoyment in as poker would be basically...
-date night with a chick
-playing around with my vehicles
-dinner+drinks with friends, especially if watching some sports game at same time

Past that, there honestly isn't much I'm interested in. Is that good or bad, idk, but it makes it a helluva lot easier to focus on poker so much when it's one of the few things in this world that I genuinely thoroughly enjoy.

To try to keep up with current events and to continue learning a bit here and there, I listen to Joe Rogans podcast a lot while I grind. Past that, I do random reading on Wikipedia and the like at night. I have no interest in watching the news, I don't ever go to reddit.com (absolutely unreal how much time people 'waste' on sites like reddit/sports sites/etc), I'm not a big movie fan and absolutely hate going to the cinema (or anywhere else where there are a lot of people heh). Kind of funny as it sounds like I'm describing some super antisocial person, but I talk nonstop and any 2p2er that has met me can confirm that here itt . Just basically only have a few interests and that's what I do with my entire life.

So in terms of advice, I don't really know what to tell you. 2 hours go by so fast to me while I'm grinding that it seems like a blink of an eye and poof, gg whole morning/early afternoon.

Didn't put in as much volume as I wanted to this past weekend but whatever. Had 2 fun nights out, one with the poker crew and one with the locals for Reggae night at the brewery + sushi bar. Apparently every friday night is now Reggae night there so probably will be going there most fridays with the ole IRL crew. Had like 12 of us there this past Friday and should be more this coming Friday.

So I've been failing at taking pics and whatnot quite hard lately, but Bfizz has been VLOGing. Have a camera crew staying with him, they're both awesome people and it's been nice to meet them. Quality seems pretty great, but I know both John and Mary (the camera crew!) and Bfizz are looking for feedback, so let me know your thoughts please and I'll pass the feedback over to them!

edit to add: Lol, I have yet to be sober on any appearance in the VLOG. Been 10+ beers deep and the same will hold true for the next EP that I'm featured in lulz. Whoops

If you want to just get a small taste, can skip ahead to 9:45 in the episode and I'm featured there at the brewery/sushi bar for the first Reggae night 2 fridays ago

Same thing for episode 3, can skip right to 6:05 where they happen to run into Ruseman and I at Ollies pizza after the Sunday grind last Sunday.

Past that going to just hit n run with my graph so far this month. Not sure the # of hands I'm on atm, something like 60-65k though. Hoping to put up a big week of volume this week but we'll see!

So, put in a big effort today and all was going well all the way through the end of the hyper sat + mtt session. I unfortunately got absolutely **** on during my 25bb session. I was actually pretty worried as I was tanking so hard (my avg roi was -27% during that session) and thought my EV line was going to have tanked, but everything looked good besides my small sample of HSSNGs ($200+) which obv always swings hugely as the sample put forth each day is so small.

I was thinking of taking tomorrow off to study, but I'm thinking now I will at least play my 25bb session and might even get up in time to do the sat session as well. That kind of just depends on how late I study til.

KJ<JT to bust 5th in the Hot 55 and then JJ<KJs for top 3 chips on F3Ts of the 109 Mini Super Tues..wound up getting 13th iirc. Annoying finishes in some big fields!

Looked yesterday and I ran 21 bb/100 under EV at the 25bb SKO games lmao, that DS makes a lot more sense .

Did end up not playing Sats today and stuck to 2 sessions of 25bb. Did not wake up until 10am as I was far too exhausted to get going and knew I'd have a bad day in terms of anxiety and whatnot if I forced myself up.

Seems like with me needing to have days to sleep in late/recuperate that the obvious best grind plan is going super duper hard on Tues/Thurs/Sun and treat Mon/Wed/Fri as my days where I can sleep in late and skip the sat grind if I am not up in time for it. Is what I've done the past 2 weeks and seems to be working rather nicely. More reggy games but my EV is much better being the best reg in the games and more traffic > softer games for me.

That is not true of the 25bb though hehe. If games get super **** and I'm motivated to study, I'll stop and start studying. But much of the time I'd rather just stay in there and battle it out. Hurts the other regs if I stay in and having more money + unlimited money behind is nice when there are guys battling for seats or trying to move up. Variance will hurt them much faster than it could ever touch me. #toorichtocare ? hehe

Was just PMing with one of my pals and we were talking weekend plans...this is what I've got going on. We'll see if I actually do it unlike last weekend

Thurs
going super hard
8:15am through 7pm or later my time....sats followed by the 25bb grind. Prob playing late $215 thrill and $162 bounty for first time this year

Vivi will arrive at some point while I'm winding down and we're doing Ollies dinner + drinks

Fri
No sats, 25bb grind. Prob late start, maybe 12pm and gonna try to just really ****ing go for it and might put in my first ever 8+ hour session of pure 25bb :O :O (if my mind doesnt melt before that)

Reggae Friday at the brewery/sushi bar with the crew of locals.

Sat
Sats+Mtts to start with 25bb down the stretch. 8:15am start if I have the heart for Bounty 44 grind, 10am if not. I have a feeling it will be a 10am start. Prob choose Bounty 55 and 33 Speedway over 25bb during that slot but not sure yet...depends on how lobbies look.

Very ****ing important to not even leave my condo to make sure I don't back my way into some alcohol and end up late to the Sunday grind.

Sun
Wake up and on the grind by 6am my time for 1 hour late reg of Kickoff, get into Hotter 162 and start that Sunday grind! Go until 4pm my time on that sat+mtt grind
