Still here waiting on the GF to finish getting ready, so can answer this quickly

The way my deal worked during the SNE era through the end of 2017 was that the RB was split at the same cut as the profit was split. So for most of the SNE era, I received 75% of my profit and 75% of my RB.

My deal with B3rtstare started out at 65/35 in my favor and after hitting iirc 25k profit and 50k profit, my profit cut %'s jumped to 70/30 and then 75/25, which was the highest cut I could have. Pretty nice playing a ~$200 abi of hyper turbos and getting 75% of the profit though, especially when some coaching was included

This same model transferred over to my deal with Jama-Dharma when he started fully staking me in 2017. However, once the chests were dropped, we decided since the RB amount was so little (~5% RB or whatever the hell I have now haha ), we'd just chop it 50/50 as it didn't seem worth the hassle to try to figure it out.

Woah. So are you still a millionaire-ish? Did you manage to invest poker $'s wisely or did you have to cut winnings in order to get staked? Pretty insane to imagine you've won all that off poker, GJ, worth ethic is insane.

Speaking of which, what have your high / low points been throughout your poker career (so far)?
10-30-2018 , 08:04 AM
What do you think your lifetime RB % is on Stars? Crazy to think how much it must have dropped off in the last yr or so.

cheers for reply. your results are inspiring lol

Hey don't really want to get into money but no, I have far less money than most would think as I believe the average person thinks anyone who has made what seems like a large sum of money has more than they actually do (not just poker ofc, actors, sports stars, etc)

I had some investments not go very well and also just didn't invest wisely/much at all. My life expenses are also pretty ****ing huge, like $6000-$8000 USD a month. But I live a pretty lavish lifestyle and do/get/buy anything I want. I eat at nice restaurants 4-5 times a week, always tip generously which gets us top notch service etc....all that stuff adds up over time but I wouldn't change anything about it. My parents always raised me to believe that it was better to enjoy your life and have less regrets when it comes to life experiences/doing what makes you happy and worry and stress less about money. Even though now I have Alisha and therefore am not out partying at clubs, having girls come over, etc, she still wants the nice things in life and I'm right with her on that.

There's probably some middle ground I should have taken where I put more money aside, but whatever. We only get one life and I enjoy it every day

Honestly no idea. During the SNE era it was like 74% after BoP/other bonuses and then the last year of SNE was 65% as they cut the 5200 WCOOP ME ticket (that you could break down into smaller COOP mtts and sell action at MU etc, that's what I always did). 2016 we got 45% and then in 2017 until chests dropped it was 27% and now I have like 4% or whatever .

It's hard to figure out a RB % though because a humongous portion of my lifetime rake paid came during the SNE era. HS games just don't go off, so even though my volume is still very high, the actual $ amount raked is very low compared to years past. I could figure it out if I wanted to but doesn't seem worth the hassle, the 39% I used on that 7fig graph from Nov 2014 and on should be pretty close to accurate though based on the quick look I had at my SS stats.

Somehow I'm much more efficient at working with Alisha living with me. I used to waste a lot of time, or end up going out at night or whatever it might be, and now her and I have settled pretty nicely into our routine. Since my parents left, I've played poker 11 of 13 days and will be playing each of the next 3 as well.

The only 2 days I've missed have been a Mon and a Fri due to having a dentist appointment in Tijuana. This will continue as I'm actually going to have to get braces for a 2nd time which is pretty annoying but whatever. Just like with the cardiologist and with the vein specialist, we're going to the best dentist/orthodontist in Tijuana and it's expensive for Mexico, but still way cheaper than the US and the office and equipment is actually more modern than my dentist back in the US. Going back to the money topic, I definitely spend way more on healthcare than most people would as well, as I'm in a position where I can afford the top notch care and go 'where the rich people go' and am happy with that decision and wouldn't change that either.

Back on the topic of poker and efficiency, I've actually started studying the SKOs and have started putting in some volume at them. I look to continue to pound away at studying and grind these games and plan to try to build a sample between now and the end of the year to see what kind of expectation I have in grinding them at night and how well it works with Alisha and my schedule. Luckily she always fully supports the grind and understands that for us to live a life of luxury, I have to be making the $ and therefore is always super understanding if I'm not able to spend time with her due to grind/study. She's busy with university anyway, so it works out quite well.

The 25bb+25bb SKO session from just now, pretty happy with that ABI although I expect the ABI to be more around $40 long term.

I will have to snap some pictures of the condo tomorrow. Looking a ton better than before and we still have more changes to make. Here's a few pictures of Alisha from dinner last night in Puerto Nuevo lobster village...she bought this dress while she was out yesterday as a surprise for me with yellow being my favorite color. As I said, we're all about the nice things in life . Speaking of a not so nice thing, the food was actually kind of meh and we were both disappointed. Will be trying a different restaurant in the village the next time we go.

Crazy to think you were playing $2 180 mans with me in 2008-11 and now you're a high stakes baller. Congrats on all your success man! One of the hardest working grinders I have ever seen. You motivate me to work harder at poker for sure.

That's literally insane about the Rakeback difference.

Well as long as you're having fun, guess it doesn't matter much , have to agree the diff in rakeback is insane! On the plus side, they can't exactly slash it more ... gl on the rest of the grind / closing the year out!

Been super duper busy around here per the usual. Just the grind itself takes up enough time, especially when learning a new format and needing to dedicate a lot of time to study, but damn, feel like I am go go going all day, every day, from the time I wake up until I go to bed. For that reason I haven't really had the time to make any real updates, but definitely going to try to pop in a bit more often and post some daily graphs, pictures etc.

Sunday grind was pretty withered. Was one of those days where the 27.50 16s to the mil were just pure aids and that always makes for a sad LS graph heh . Lost like 2k+ at those games on Sunday, luckily have been recovering nicely since then.

Have played a few 25bb/skos at night but have dedicated more time to studying. I hoping to continue that trend and one day I won't need to study so much and can put more of those precious night time hours into the grind. Bit hard to balance hanging out with Alisha/dinner with Alisha, studying sats post sat/mtt session, grinding and then studying the 25bb and SKOs, but doing the best I can!

Here are a few pictures from the house, will continue to take some more. Pretty amazing seeing how the condo looks now compared to just 2 months ago

New lamp in my room/office, we're both a big fan of how it looks

Got the TV mounted on the wall so it can swivel between the living room area all the way to the dining room/kitchen area, pretty nice. The TV was something I bought Alisha like 3 years ago, funny to finally have it here in my place

Here's the 2 little palm trees we have on our balcony. We're still searching for pots for the bamboo plant and the other 4 plants we bought. Will have to post some more pictures of them once we find the right pots

And here's a MTD graph, top line challenge graph and bottom all days MTD. GLA on the tables!

Bfizz and I have been doing another no alcohol bet and we built in 1 cheat day to go out and have some nice Ollies pizza dinner and then hit the town for a bit. We ended up using that cheat day last night; was much needed for us both and am happy we did it even though it left me missing the sat + mtt grind today.

Got pounded on the tables yesterday; lost 10k at 181 and 360 sats. The cool thing was that the volume was really great, got >100 games in at 181 and 360s sats, something that hasn't happened on a non COOP day since like early 2017. So I mixed feelings there of course, happy about the volume but sucks to take a beating

I plan to get to some 25bb and 25bb sko study starting in a bit and then will play a short session to mark some more hands here at the end of the peak hours. After that I'll take a quick break and study said hands and then hit the evening 25bb/sko grind....nice to have these games as in the past, if I woke up too late for the sat+mtt grind/not feeling 100% at this precise moment would lead to a wasted day with me not really being able to put in any volume. Similar thing last night, took the 10k beating during the peak grind but then studied some sat spots and came back to grind a quick 1.5 hours of 25bb/skos and made back 3k. Really loving learning the games and having another nice hourly option for myself

Speaking of the SKOs, just completed my first 5k hands since starting to study and play them again, pretty happy with the way the numbers are trending! Obviously the format is super crazy variance filled, but this is all the data I have to go on and is clearly much nicer to have smashing looking #s than some withered/negative #s

Have some more pictures to post from around the house. Alisha loves plants and had her own garden as I have said before, and the condo is quickly turning into a plant haven . Am really happy about it though, atmosphere and energy of the house feels good.

Still haven't found places for all the plants yet and still have 2 plants to re-plant in their pots that we bought the other day, but yea, house looking pretty decent!

Munchies before going down for a swim in the ocean yesterday afternoon. He ended up going too far out and it scared Alisha lulz, he gives no ****s

Entrance

Haven't found a spot in the house for this one yet

Same with these little ones that are sitting by the door

Little bamboo tree that sits right outside my room/office

Poinsettia on the kitchen island

Even Munchies gets a plant right in his food and water area

Shot of the living room area

Alisha's desk in her room/office

Big fan of this lamp that she has for in her room

The new bed I bought last month and then Alisha's dresser. That was part of a set (dresser, big standing mirror and makeup mirror) that I bought for her as a birthday gift 2 years ago iirc.

Anyway, I started this blog post a very long time ago and have since left the house to run some errands and get lunch and have come back heh. Going to eat and then start the study grind that I began talking about a few hours back . GLA on the tables!

Haha, I will have to work on posting more Munchies related content! He really is quite the ham

And yea, over time you just become kind of numb to the swings. I was already a zenmaster before even playing the nosebleed sats for the first time and even on my -100k+ day, I never got even remotely upset one time all day long. Didn't shake a fist, hit my desk, slam the mouse, say any negative words...nothing heh. Just gotta take it all in stride

Ended up playing a good sized session today, no MTT luck whatsoever though and I'm already done. Was 0 tabling MTTs by the end of late reg to the hot 109 and then was just left in the supersonic at the end of late reg for the cooldown and sonic and quickly busted that (rain).

Did add up my 'true ev' for the day for the first time in a long time and EV'd >$1500 at SNGs today using relatively safe estimates of my ROIs / $/game at each different bi lvl and format I play. Was $1441 at just the 11+ 16mans and 28+ 6m sats and then I played some 25bb skos, normal 25bb and then timbey stake 16mans, so surely was 1500+

Graph of the day

Got these cool interior lights installed in my Durango yesterday. Has a remote control w multiple color options and can have it set to be lighting on/off with the beat of the song, pretty cool. Have to add some more in the back as I only bought 1 package as we weren't 100% sure what to expect but both Nick and I were impressed with them.

And will share what Alisha made for dinner last night. It's called salpicon and it was super good. Ingredients were arrachera meat, oregano, chile serrano, vinegar, onion, lettuce, tomato and can't remember what else . Super tasty stuff though and pretty clean, by far the worst part was the tostadas underneath

Was talking to the Ruseman as Alisha was serving the food and since he is big time into cooking and learning new recipes etc, he asked me to ask her what was in it
Vid

Few other food shots from this week. Some super tasty enchiladas and the other is just some carne and salad, both lunches that she made me while I was on the grind. Her food is seriously very good...my mom grew up on a farm and cooks very delicious food (all my friends while I was younger and in school wanted to come over to eat at my house ) and Alisha might actually cook more tasty food than my mom. She learned to cook from her mom and her parents lived on a farm down in Michaocan until Alisha was born, at which time they moved to the Tijuana area. But yea, Alisha comes from a super small puebla, so I guess it isn't too surprising her food is so tasty.

Always bad presentation since mostly eating on paper plates and whatnot while I'm grinding and certainly don't care what the food looks like

Anyway, as I was writing this everyone just got back up here. Alisha's younger brother and niece came over per their normal sunday routine, but also Alisha's mom made the trip over today. She was kind enough to arrive with some food for me as well . They all went down to the beach while I finished up the grind and we're about to go over to eat in Popotla fishing village.

GLA on the tables...tomorrow is dentist in the morning and then hoping to put in a bit of 25bb and SKO action before hitting the study grind.

Gotemmm. The RB might actually be higher when taking into account all of the refunds I received this year for banned players, but it is certainly at least 8%. I remember receiving a 3k+ refund alone when the 4 16man bots/colluders were finally banned from stars earlier in the year. Have been other smaller refunds as well throughout the year.

Ended up not grinding at all yesterday as I went out and got ****faced on Thursday night and was just getting to bed around 8am. Woke up having a panic attack at around 12 which was no good. Still not feeling that well, although I was able to study this afternoon and then put in a 2 hour session of SKOs and 25bb nps. I'm hoping I'll make it through the Sunday grind without issue but we'll see .

Would for sure be fine if Alisha was here as if I start feel an attack coming on, she basically just comes and hugs me while I continue grinding and I feel an almost immediate relief. Usually after a couple minutes I'm fine. I tend to have a much harder time stopping them once they've started if I'm by myself....annoying timing on her going to her Mom's house on Thursday for some days to recover from being super ill (has an infection in her throat, her ears and her nose and has been feeling like utter **** and getting worse every day).

Anyhowww, the results when I have been grinding have been okay, outside of HS's ofc . Still improving a lot every day at the SKOs and working on trying to find time to study more normal 25bb spots as well. Sats have mostly been put on the back burner in terms of study hours, but think that's fine as I've ran a few close spots I've marked over the past week and my ranges are still spot on in all of said spots.

Here's my results for the SKOs and normal 25bb since starting to focus on them this month. Top graph is SKOs and bottom graph the normal 25bb. Excited to get to a 10k sample of both formats to give me some sort of idea of what I can expect to be making in the games/if I'm beating them for sure

CEV stats for the SKOs, top graph is all hands and bottom is HU. Think I have room to improve HU, most of these regs are quite bad at HU play

Tomorrow I'm definitely going to play just the higher stake stuff and won't be tabling as hard as I tend to on a Sunday. Lowest BI MTT I'll play is the Hot $82 and I won't bother playing any pre tournament low stakes games at the start of the day. Probably won't start until 7:15am my time either, 15 mins before the Bounty 215. And might even start at 9am, 15 mins before the Hot 82...going to see how I feel when I first wake up.

dunno, maybe stupid question (read almost all your thread though)..... have u ever considered getting seriously fit to see if you can get rid of your issues that way? ...... the mind is heavily influenced through the body imo ...... for myself you can always see by my skin how I am mentally and physically ....

.... with your resources getting a good personal trainer should not be a problem?

Sorry to hear you’re having anxiety. For me, it can be directly after going super hard the night before.

Like an extension of alcohol withdrawal mixed with super hang over.

Exercise definitely helps me tho in general.

Keep crushing
