I too need to improve a lot as I'm one of the weaker regs at the $500s/$1ks. Being better than everyone else at your bi's at HU and 3handed play is definitely important, just have to pound out the Pio and HRC/ICMIZER hours along with studying opponents....none of which I do for 25bb hyper turbos heh

Wasn't 1 bink; 1st/3rd/5th in SCOOP-H events in 1 week, 250k/85k/75k scores and also won 6figs at SNGs

Well, MTTs didn't go very well once again today. Very quickly grinded up to 3x starting stack in the 2k 8max and then it fizzled out. 10k I got to 90k from 50k and then lost a medium sized pot with KK and then got coolered flush < boat. Down to 20bbs at that point and ripped over an open + flat with AJs and ran it into AK and GG! Just have the 1k ME left, 225k at 4kbb, maybe can make a run in that

SNG traffic was pretty dismal overall, only got 12 3.5ks off too which is absurd . Think I lost at every single SNG stake at $360 and below stakes too which sucks. Won a lot of EV in the HSSNGs though which always feels good

I believe I am going to shower on this coming sync break and then Ruseman and I will be heading out to watch the NBA game. It's his birthday so doing whatever he wants. Tomorrow I will grind in the morning/early afternoon and then late afternoon/evening the GF is coming over and she's gonna cook up a big meal for us all, should be a nice time

Day graphs below, will post more graphs once SCOOP is officially over on Tues/Wed

Well, SCOOP has come to a close. Made a couple MTT runs yesterday but no strong finishes!

Will try to grind a lot harder this summer than in years past between the COOPs, think I will be able to achieve this as I'm more motivated to 'do the right thing' this year than in years past. Am also excited about Party Poker changes and would like to help get some games going off over there and I can only do that by putting in the grind hours!

With that being said, I will have to go to the US a few times to get my truck paperwork fixed. Going to be very annoying and I absolutely hate doing **** like this, but must do it. Speaking of, am hoping in ~10-20 days that my truck is back in my possession and nearly finished, minus new front bumper, new rims+tires, full paintjob/body work and then some minor things like putting the new piston rings in (have to lift the engine up/out which makes it a huge pain in the ass), getting a roof scoop installed, and finishing with interior/exterior electrical and similar.

Unfortunately, when my mechanic opened up the turbo he found a lot of damage. Basically the way the turbo works is that both ends have a job; 1 end is sucking in the air and then the other is pushing it out, and they work together. The damage made it such that only 1 end of it was doing any work. We heard a 'miss' in the turbo over the past months, but couldn't figure out what it was exactly and the truck was performing extremely well, so we didn't really put much thought into it. I am now really excited to see how the truck performs...not only did I put a lot of upgrades into the engine + turbo (along with cold air intake + up pipe kit on the exhaust), but we're going to have a fully functioning turbo for the first time since I've owned the truck!

Here is a photo of the damage on the 1 part of the turbo, can see how its ****ed up on each blade, they are supposed to be even/smooth

Additionally, here are a few more pics. On the left we have my new turbo housing and then the old, stock turbo housing. The aftermarket housing is larger and built with better material and the difference is going to be amazing.

On the right side is my new big head actuator and the old, stock one. The stock one is certainly very weak compared to the banks aftermarket one, I could actually bend it with my hands. I'm not very good at explaining what parts do (and in some cases don't really 100% know), but basically by having the better wastegate actuator, the turbo will both charge to peak turbo boost more quickly and then maintain the boost level for longer periods of time, and obviously giving much better performance. It will work hand in hand with the new turbo housing and the new wicked wheel 2 we are installing

Couple more pics of the turbo housing, my mechanic cut it down and then sanded it down so that it perfectly smooth; it should whistle very nicely!

On the suspension front, my mechanic is going to end up putting the leafsprings on the front end. They were originally intended for the back end but because my truck has rear air bags (meant for towing heavy loads, like hauling a horse trailer for example) it was going to leave the truck sitting too high and the truck would potentially bottom out/front end would hit when going offroad etc.

So he changed up his plan and we're putting them on the front, along with a few more blocks (on the lift kit) which will raise the truck up a few more inches. When we inflate the rear airbags to full capacity (which physically raises/lifts the back end), this will lead to the truck being level and therefore good to go. We may end up needing to add another block on each side of the back as well, we're going to just see how it looks and make adjustments once the leafsprings are on.

Then, when we put the rims and new tires on, we might have to make some further adjustments, but I think we're going to end up being good. I think we will likely end up putting 35s on (tire size that is).

All in all, my truck is going to be fairly tall, but not anywhere near out of control as many people get. I personally think trucks like that look dumb and it addditionally takes a lot out of performance.

Here is a vid of my mechanic airing up the rear airbags, it's hard to tell as the truck is only lifted like 2 or 3 inches, but it actually is a big change in the grand scheme of things and important to get correct.

I could continue rambling on about the truck forever, but will stop there for now

Here are some poker graphs to end this post, gla on the grind!

how much in total do you have invested in the truck?

~50k or so. I wanted to find a cheap project truck, the only things that were important to me were for the engine and transmission to be in good shape as I wanted to put heaps and heaps of aftermarket parts in, so the rest of the pieces of the truck were more or less coming out .

The only requirement apart from a good engine and transmission was that wanted a 7.3L Powerstroke as it's my favorite truck engine (they quit making them after 2003, my truck is a 2002 and 02/03 was the best 7.3L designed).

Before 2004, Ford bought their diesel engines from the company International which you might recognize as a brand name you see on tractors and the like. Starting in 2004, Ford decided to make their own diesel engines, and they mostly failed miserably IMO heh. The 6.4 absolutely sucked, I think they currently run 6.7's in their engines and they had 6.2's in the past...can't exactly keep it all straight in terms of which engines were used when, but yea, my own $0.02 is that the 7.3 was an absolute beauty of an engine.
05-24-2017 , 09:41 PM
true.

i got a new ford truck recently (not diesel though). i got a friend who is gonna do some stuff to the engine to make it a bit faster/nicer too. he actually owns a diesel shop in my town. my truck was expensive, but that seems like a insane amount of money to put into a 2002 truck, haha. i know a lot of it is new and tbh, it looks pretty sick, but yeah.

Well, the body of the truck might be a 2002 truck, but it's not like I'm 'putting money into a 2002 truck.' We could go right now and take the best 2017 F250 or F350 King Ranch 6.7 TurboDiesel (or F250/F350 Platinum as I'm assuming you can get them with diesel engines but I know nothing about them) on the lot of any Ford dealership in CA (costing $70k+!) and take that truck and my truck out for dyno testing, on the street and offroad and my truck is going to significantly outperform it under all conditions in basically every single regard other than fuel economy.

So for far less money, I have a far superior truck and it would take putting $125k+ total into a truck to even have a chance to outperform my truck. I'd actually be interested, once I'm done, to compare my truck in all areas compared to a souped up newer truck; either the 6.2, 6.4 or 6.7 TurboDiesels that they've recently come out with that someone has built up in a similar fashion to mine.

I don't know much about gas engines at all so my advice could be way off, and I'm sure your buddy will take good care of you anyhow, but my first suggestion would be to put a programmer in it. That really opens up the engine, even if you just drive it in economy mode. Past that, exhaust and cold air intake would be my next 2 suggestions, followed probably by headers.

It gets dicey if you put 'too much' into the engine. You not only have to worry about the 'big' things such as pistons and injectors (or the turbo if you have one) blowing up, but even small things like the piston rings, rods, etc start having a lot of pressure put on them. But yea, with just those few things, you wouldn't have to worry yet

Hehe . Nah, no WSOP for me per the norm. This might be the first year where my EV is not higher playing online compared to playing live. But it's fine, I always have a lot of fun during the summer down here and am able to play a pretty relaxed schedule, still EV a lot and enjoy life!

No update for a while! I honestly don't even really know how poker has been going; I hardly pay attention and I have done my bookkeeping only 1 time since May 23rd so I really haven't an idea....I guess I'll get an idea later in this post when I go and get my MTD graph

Been quite busy IRL between getting the truck closer to done and then having some fun. Lupita broke up with me a few weeks back, saying she's far too busy with all her **** going on to have a relationship and it was indeed the truth, only having 1 day per week at the absolute most to see each other and talking <10 mins per day via text..not rly a real relationship. Anyway was fine, we still talk those few mins per day and are friends and maybe some day when she is done with her apartment complex and other land deals we will give it a go again. And nice for me as then I can fully enjoy the summer

Was down in wine land with Rennatta (gym owner girl) and Salma last Monday, was a nice little trip down there. The girls snapped a few photos so finally have some photos other than the truck to post

At night, we went to Papas&Beer and then the next morning we went to Puerto Nuevo, the lobster village just south of where I live

A lot has happened on the truck. Getting kind of OI writing, flipping through pics etc though so will just cut it short and just post a few pics. My rims showed up, I got temporary tires, looking pretty good right now. Still finishing up a few things, the high pressure hose has been being an absolute ***** and that's the only thing that is keeping us from driving it. From my FB post on the subject about this round of upgrades...

-Juice with attitude programmer
-ATS housing
-Pro comp lift/leafsprings + ES9000 shocks
-Banks big head + wicked wheel 2
-S&B cold air intake
-Turbo rebuild/upgrade + blanket
-Up pipes kit
-Upgraded piston rings
Won't bother to add the smaller upgrades on this round as the list would get too long! Still tons of little stuff to do, certainly a lot closer to finished after this round of upgrades though!
Shoutout to Nicky Rico for all the hard work hes put into this truck for me! Can't wait until we're done with it

Yea, at some point I have to do a paint job + additional body work on it to fix the leftover damage from the storm. This would also be the time I would have the roof scoop added and would likely put the new front bumper + winch and rear bumper on at this point too.

I'm trying to decide what color I want it to be, black is certainly in the running. We're going to be running LED lights down both sides of the truck. We're also going to be adding interior lights. I just have to make sure whatever color we end up going with fits the style of the truck.

The lights running down the side would look similar to this; this truck also has the tail light LED bar like mine has. The only difference is just like basically everything else on my truck, my tail lights are tinted.

I guess on the subject, here is an example of a roof scoop. I don't know much about them, as in I don't know if there are different styles or many customization options. I already know who I want to do the body work + paint job on the truck, he will also be doing this job and I'll be in good hands.

I'm always interested to hear what people think about the truck and any thoughts etc they might have, so glad you posted , and hope others will in the future!

Finally got around to looking at my poker results so figured I would post them here while responding to Everest and adding a bit of detail.

****ty month as I was thinking it was. Volume has been pretty slow, I've also missed many days including both a Thursday and Tuesday, which is definitely not normal from me! Did a lot better this week playing Tues-Thurs, a tiny bit on Fri and hit peak today. Plan to start with the kickoff tomorrow at 5am and to get in a decent Sunday session

Past that, I don't have much else to share. Don't think I ever mentioned it, but Alisha had a boobjob + ass implant + lipo done a few weeks back and is still recovering from that. Kind of funny they even did lipo on her given the fact she is 1.50Metres/4 ft 11 and like 45kg/100lbs, really tiny, skinny girl.

She is still in some pain and up until this past week wasn't even really able to leave home for anything other than doctors appointments. We did sneak out to dinner 2x though and then finally last Monday we were able to spend a full day together. She should be medically cleared to return to normal activities (and ability to have sex) on July 5th; her and I are equally excited for that day and we already are planning on me driving her to the Drs that day and then us celebrating the rest of the day afterwards

I know I posted the 2nd pic before, but best representation of her body then compared to now. I'll have more pics in the future when she actually feels well, this is just a freeze frame from a vid I snapped and sent to Ruseman from the mall on Monday to show him something (not Alishas's ass! )

Can definitely tell the booty and boobies are bigger even with ****ty quality. She either has a C or D cup, can't tell yet as I haven't handled them yet () and she might still have some swelling etc.

I mostly mention that as I've therefore had to look for other options. Funnily enough, this chick who is a friend of another girl I've known for a long time was supposed to come on Thursday night, but I ended up cancelling on her saying I had to be with my truck and mechanic instead. She was not pleased, was pretty funny when I told her why I was cancelling and she got super pissed .

Anywayyyyy, that's enough for now. About to shower and then head out for food with the Ruseman. Gla tomorrow!
