Hi everyone my name is Carlos, i used to play NLH200-600 in live but actually i'm playing Spins 5$ in Pokerstars and here is why:

Months ago i moved to Thailand to start a bussines with one of my best friends, who scammed me around 40k dols, basically all my money, it was a huge mistake now i know but in that moment i trusted on him 100%, huge mistake.

He just let me with less than 1k$..... i was stressed, very nervous and after i passed out i use mostly of the 1k$ to pay hospital expenses.

2 friends helped me out to start to play with a small bankroll in Pokerstars (1.5k$) and we decided that play 5$Spin&Go would be the faster way to make some money, (seeing the level is very low) but i realized that is not going to be fast or easy by ****ing variance. xD

That's why i'm saying i'm in the worst situation cause "i need to win inmediately" and also be able to grow my bankroll.....damn....

Actually i'm playing/studying 10h a day beeing mostly of the days 8h for play and 2h Studying.

I come here to see if someone could give me an advice or maybe someone was in a similar situation.

Sorry to hear about you getting scammed. I think your probably better off moving back home. In saying that Thailand is cheap to live. What is your online experience? Doesn't sound like you have much. You are not going to be making the same money and you will have to start at the nano stakes. Online is a lot tougher.

Small stakes spins are probably the slowest way to make money, not the fastest. Yeah, you could hit a 1-in-a-million spin, but most of the time you're grinding massively raked games for tiny profits. The fastest way to start generating money would be to play the format you're best at (which seems to be nlhe cash) on the softest site you can find (not Stars) with the highest rakeback you can get, and just put your head down and grind as hard as you can for a really long time.

Sounds like you need money. are there no job options for you that would allow you to still play poker on the side? Relying on poker to try and make a living at such small stakes seems like it would stress you out to the point you'd end up back in the hospital.

Even a crappy consistent job is consistent income.

I think MTT is clearly the best way to go up from very low

We run the business for just 2 weeks, everything was ok, np at all xD...... day number 15 he doesn't respond my messages, in that moment nobody will think something happens, ok, he doesn't answer the phone. A few hours later i went to his house but nobody opened the door, the car wasn't there.... i was even worried xDD but i went straight to check our wallets then i realized he took all our money.

He disappeared that day, he has everything planned and i was the most stupid guy on earth. :/

Thailand isn't cheap if u like to have a good quality of live (actually not my case xD) but it is if u live as Thai people, actually i'm in the lowest possible level xDD , i will get over it though! Just keep smiling.

My experience online: i was playing regularly 3 years Mtt's with not bad results, enough to live, Ps.Com, .Fr, .Es. , i've a bit of Spins played around 10k on 10 an 20's years ago as well.

Last years a been playing in some Chinnese apps but not regularly.

Hi! i completely agree with what u are saying, the thing is that my friends offered me to transfer on Ps and not cash "to play", i didn't know the reason but i didn't even want to ask why cause maybe they think i could spend the money surviving and not playing.... honestly i don't know, i'm so thankful even knowing Stars gets the hardest pool. :/

About the scam, i've explained already the most important, i could add that we started to work on Google Adds, Facebook but i'm not sure exactly how much this is true. One thing is true for sure, is sure that i'm stupid.

You have the start to a really good PG&C here and it would do well as long as you post often and with your results.

I am not an expert on Spins, so I will leave that discussion to others. But it seems to me that your BR is small no matter what you pick. So, the best thing to do right now would be to BOTH (1) find more backers and (2) stick with the game that YOU know. Not what your backers want, not what is "hot" right now, but whatever you feel the best playing. You're going to have to guard every single dollar in your BR and make the most out of every hand. But it can be done and you need to put yourself in the best position to do that.

Need to play some cash. Sorry, but less variance, better learning opportunities, etc. PS is not that hard. Learn the most popular, 6 max, and try to do Zoom. Start at 10nl, and get the study on with some online books, twitch videos, Poker Tracker database, and some simple GTO software (GTO/CREV and Simple GTO trainer). It will improve those times you do play spins.

You can also start with Bodog88, softer than stars, can use Poker tracker on regular tables, no 10nl Zoom/Zone.

That doesn't make sense. You just said that your friends aren't backing you, they are helping you out. Withdraw the money, put it on a softer site with better rakeback, and play the format that gives you the highest equity.
