Hello everyone,

I'm 20 years old from Canada and have been playing poker for, eh, idk I'd say about four years now, but have only started to take it seriously in the last 6-8 months. How I got playing is another story but this thread is for me to gain some perspective and insight as to if I am even on the right track, as I have basically no one to talk poker with who understands it on a decent level, eg. ICM, opening ranges, 3 bet ranges, etc....So been playing exclusively online as what I have set aside to play is limited and I dont wanna go broke like the last times I thought I was hot ****. Started out depositing the usual 50-100 every other week trying to gain experience to find what I was good at. Grinded micro Sit and go's, 6 max heads up mostly, and then put in a serious grind at .05/.10 like 20k or 30k hand sample and was a consistent winner whenever i was looking at Poker tracker and grinded up a 500-600 roll a couple of times but then would take shots get tilted try and move back down and just rush to get back up which, obviously would never work out. So took some time off after that and finished school and got a job so i could get some money to play again and told myself "im gonna grind till I ****ing get there, and some day....I will get there". Anyways as of right now I am grinding micros and low stakes tourneys right now, have won 1 micro 3.30 and final tabled another 4.40 but for the most part its been a lot of min cashes and busts. Here is my chance to document as I will be posting after every session....after work that is.....to see if I am just telling myself a lie or not. Much appreciated if you follow along

just played one tourney tonight was super tired after work so thought I would try and single table and really dial in. Made some good plays got money in good in every spot but could not hold.

hand 1: UTG shoves for around 25bb hijack ISO all in for 50bb Im on the BTn with TT and shove (i cover everyone at table) utg has 44, co has A9 of hearts and A comes on the flop.

Hand 2: was down to 35BB at this point and 4 limpers limped to me in the BB and I have KT clubs and raise 5bb one caller to a flop of AQ5 two spades one club, i c bet for like 30% and he shoves i end up folding.

Hand 3: very next hand after that I have AA in the SB and UTG raises, CO calls and I jam for 27BB effective get called by both UTG who has QQ and CO who has 77 and 7 comes on the flop.....gg

Anyways felt like i played pretty good just got unlucky. On to the next...

Good luck. Ditch the MTTs and just play cash games imo. Put in volume and move up in stakes. MTTs are fun but a crapshoot. Too much luck.

Any tips for grinding micro cash? Specific site I should be looking at cause the last time I was grinding cash like 25NL peoples 3bet stats would be like 3% or even less, which was really annoying in some aspects but in others it made it easier because it narrowed opponents range down so much. Should I aim for zoom or regular tables? Thanks for any tips and suggestions as they are much appreciated!!

Alright so I took the advice and grinded 25nl today and not a bad session two hands were i forsure could have minimised the damaged but other than that felt like i played ok. Here is the graph from today.. short session but will grind more tomorrow.

Whats good everybody,

Had an interesting couple of days, started off by grinding some more 25nl which did not go well, ran KK into AK for an almost 300bb pot and lost and then kind of tilted off some more after that but ended down the session a little more than 2 buy ins. Went on the next day and decided to shot take 50nl HU zoom for some reason but have a decent amount of heads up experience as ive played a few hundred HU sit&go's with breakeven results, thought WTF lets give it a go. Started off a little rusty but got back into the swing of things somewhat ended the first session down like just under a buy in as I ran 2nd nut straight into nut straight but thats here nor there. Decided to grind it again today and ended up the session 2 buy ins which felt pretty good, thought I played pretty well but will forsure need some refreshers...not much action at 50nl zoom HU but might continue to grind or go back to 25nl....will update next post.
