I got 350k coming from a malpractice lawsuit. i'm going to Vegas once COVID disappates, or everyone in trump land dies. i'm jumping into 25/50 and 10/20. should i just light my money on fire? i have never played live yet. should i play 2 5 until i can read jungleman? lol, i dont think it works that way. i'm excited. but what to expect? if this isnt the place, mods, please move. What to expect in Vegas playing 25 50 against regs? What game online paces you for such an environment?

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the sucker in your first half-hour at the table, then you are the sucker. Guys around here will tell ya, you play for a living, it's like any other job. You don't gamble, you grind it out. Your goal is to win one big bet an hour, that's it. Get your money in when you have the best of it. Protect it when you don't. Don't give anything away. That's how I paid my way through half of law school. A true grinder. You see, I learned how to win a little at a time. But finally I've learned this: if you're too careful, your whole life can become a ****in' grind.

That's an interesting story persianpunisher. I have one myself.

I never told anybody this, about eight nine months ago, I'm at the Taj it's late and I see Johnny Chan walk in and he goes and sits in the three hundred six hundred section and the whole place stops and everybody puts an eye on him, after a while there wasn't a crap going on because all the high rollers are over there watching and some of them playing but they're giving their money to him and say "oh", I played with the world champion", you know what I did?

I sat down. Played tight for an hour, folded mostly then I made a score. Rags, I had nothing, but he raised and I decided I don't care about the money, I'm just going to out play the guy, I'm going to out play this guy, this hand, I'll re-raise.

he comes back over the top at me trying bully me like I'm some tourist, I hesitate for like two seconds then I'll re-raise and he makes a move to his checks and he looks at me, check his cards and looks at me again, and he mucked it, I took it down

I got up and walked to the cashier, I sat with the best in the world, and I won

This is not the worst idea. But you should put like 300k in investments and keep 50k cash to play. Start at 2/5 and dip your feet in 5/10 on weekends or if you think there is a good game. If you burn through that 50k, then this probably wasn't meant for you

good thing for you is there's really no 25/50 or 10/20 in vegas anymore outside of big tournaments

Username checks out

In all seriousness though, please don’t do this! Invest most and forget about it, grind small for a month and take a shot if it goes well. It will be just as fun! Good luck.

You've never played live but you want to jump into 25/50 and think you can make a living at it? Is this a troll? What's your online background? Start out at 2/5 and if you can win at that stake over a 3month period, move up to 5/T. Win there for 3months and move up to T/20 and so on. Jumping into 25/50 games sounds like a terrible idea.

Put the money into investments and keep a small bankroll to play with.

It’ll be a little tough at first but if u stick with it and try to focus on learning and discipline you should be able to make some decent money.
