so i need to save some money to go to college around next summer, im currently working a min wage job and living by myself renting a basement. its very hard to save any money cause the job pays very little, ideally i could supplement my income with poker on the side. and statistically i am a winning poker player, over the years i played over a million hands at 10nl/25nl with a 3bb/100 win rate, and recently starting in jan 2015 i began playing hyper turbo husngs and had been able to get a 52.5% win rate over 5600 games.

the only problem is.. i suck at volume. i have very little self discipline and just for some reason cannot get it done no matter how much i try to pump myself up to do it. i am addicted to youtube and watching movies online and find myself doing those things while on break from my poker sessions. a 20 min break turns into a 2hr, then i get tired and take a nap. before i know it another day gone.

i really need to make something happen now, this month. so i have $700 on stars and plan on playing the 7.00 hypers, volume target is 7000 games by Aug 31st with a 3% ROI (i can play up to 4 tables at once with no problems). just to give you an idea of how much i suck at volume, i only average about 1200 games per month right now. even a "good" volume month is still only like 1600 games.. pathetic.

i have to save money for college one way or another. and by the end of the month there are 3 possible scenarios.

1. i bust - i lose 100 buyins by running or playing really bad.
2. inconclusive - i break even, win/lose an insignificant amount, or fail to put in the volume again.
3. i win an adequate monthly amount that would be enough to save for school if i keep it up till next summer.

if #1 happens, i would move out of my basement and sleep in my dad's van to save on rent in order to save the money for college. i dont wanna have to do this... but i gotta do what i gotta do. (dont ask me about student loans it just aint gonna happen)

if #2 happens, i would give myself another month to grind another 7000 games in Sept. so that would be 14,000 games total, and if i still break even or whatever then its pretty clear i cant really do it. and actually, if i fail to put in volume again i would just consider it a bust and treat it like #1.

if #3 happens, i would continue living in my basement and playing poker.
