I decided to create this thread for 2 reasons:

1) My English is weak and I want to improve it.

I can understand about 80% things I read but my writing and grammar is weak and my hearing and speaking are terrible. I hope this forum help me a little.
Feel free to point out my mistakes or let me know if you don't understand something. I''ll be very appreciated.

2) I decided to switch from NLH to PLO and I wanna have some kind of diary to check what I actually do with my life and improve my work ethic.

Who am I?
I'm from Poland, 26 years old. About 3,5 years ago I decided to play poker for a living. Most of this time I was a weak reg NL100-200 on regular tables with ~2,5bb/100 lifetime. I took some shots on NL400/500 and made ~100k hands on Chinese 5/10/20 too. Probably in the future I'll write something more about this 3,5y period, mistakes I made and about myself

At this moment I have saved money for a few months and I decided to switch from Holdem to Omaha. In the past few days I watched over a dozen of videos for PLO beginners and tomorrow I'll start play PLO2 Zoom.

No, I live in Poland. I want to improve my English because I have a lot of situations in my life where good knowledge of English would be very helpful (poker, learning, new friendships, travels etc.)
btw I was in UK only once a year ago - in London. Over the 18 days I visited a few popular places, saw 2 Premier League matches and spent 222h on poker in Aspers Westfield and Hippodrome



Today I played my first 1k hands in PLO:



If my EV will be >10bb/100 after 10k hands or >5bb after 20k I'll move to PLO5 (I know 20k hands is nothing in PLO but bankroll is not a problem on microstakes so I wanna move upper to learn play with better players as soon as possible)






I'm not sure if I should 3bet this hand OOP with only K high ss vs MP and maybe my turn bet is valuetown vs 4x, JJ, QQ, KK, AA? Probably my sizings weren't good too?
My opponent really suprised me at the showdown

I've just finished my first 10k hands in PLO. Results don't really matter because the sample is small but I think I'm better than average player on PLO2 so I decided to move to PLO5.



I think my biggest leaks at this moment are:
- Opening range BU and SB -> I often don't know if I should open or not. I have to organize it because it's a little random right now. My RFI on BU is 69% and on SB is 65% because most hands look so good for former NLH player I think it's ok on PLO2 because players fold too much but I'm not sure if it will work fine at higher stakes.

- 3beting range -> My 3bet is a little nitty - only 3%. Probably I should 3bet more hands for value than now - especially BUvsCO, SB/BBvsBU and BBvsSB.

- Calling range -> I often don't know if my hand is good enough for call or not. It of course depends on skill and expierience but I need to create some guidelines for myslef. At the beginning my cold call on SB and BB vs early positions were too big but I'm not sure yet which hands are really good and which hands only look good

I wanna focus on them in the near future.

I'd be inclined to c/f with AKQJ after someone calls me on J44 rainbow because their continuing range should be mostly hands that have you drawing almost dead.

My results after first 10k hands in PLO5 are very good but I'm not really satisfied with my play. For sure I made too much spazz and during this time I saw only 1 training video what is ridiculous when I just started to learn this game.
I'm not going to play much for the next few days so I decided to stay at this limit until the end of the Christmas. First of all I wanna improve my preflop game focusing on leaks from the previous post and avoid pure bluffs without any sensible outs or blockers.

Since my last post I played only 6k hands and spent about 1h studying.

It's ridiculous how lazy I am and how much time I spend procrastinating :/ - it's also answer why I was only a weak reg in Holdem if you wondered

At the weekend I'll post some of my yearly goals for 2019.

Meanwhile I decided to not play anymore on PLO5 and move upper. I hope my results weren't caused only by good run but also decent play

I played 16k hands on PLO10z with decent evBB/100 and I think it's enough to move up, especially in my opinion I ran really bad in 3bet and 4bet pots most of the time. I heard PLO25z is very similar to PLO10z so I hope it won't be a big problem to winning there.



Next week my friend will visit me for a 3 days so next post will be probably at the end of the month with a summary of January, confession about making the same mistakes all the ****ing time and my yearly goals for 2019.
