So, keeping track of what I'm doing in a forum like twoplustwo seems +EV. That being said, I've decided to start a new thread documenting my time spent grinding 1/2 in new england, and occasionally other casinos around the world.

In case anyone else reads this, I'm a full time touring musician currently and get months off here and there. Last year I got into poker, and really got into studying and trying to apply different strategies to my game. I ended up doing well and making about $4700 over 111hrs throughout the year. That came from a few donk fest tourney binks and chops, followed by a transition to 1/2 cash later in the year. I found I really enjoyed playing deep stack poker much more than tournament style.

In January/February while traveling I played pretty badly on some nights I wasn't focused to start the year off ~-$500. That was followed by my first really bad downswing where I seemed to lose every all in pot I played no matter what. That ended last week and I've booked two winning sessions this week to bring us to -$2,361 over the first 74 hrs of this year.

Not the best start to the year, but it's not impossible to dig out pretty quick. I've been tracking hands that I will upload to here after every session I play going forward. I won't talk much about my game until we have some hands to work with, and I'll spare uploading old hands for now as I play a few times a week and can get some volume in quick.

Best of luck at the tables. I've been doing my thread here for about 2 months and it's been extremely useful holding myself accountable for either actions I want to take on consistent basis or allowing myself to experiment with different concepts at the table. I think this is going to help you take your game to another level.

As for digging out in 2017, we've all been there before when it seems like no matter what you do, you can't drag down a pot. You mentioned you really got into studying in your post. Between the time away from the tables studying, feedback from others on the forum and detailing your journey, I'm hoping you hit a very successful year.
