Hello future friends,

I started this year with $10 and ran it up to ~$1,2k. I played NL2 - NL25 zoom on Pokerstars. I used strict BRM. <$100 NL2, <$300 NL5, <$1000 NL10. I was not the greatest winner but the BR was steadily growing.

Then I got a rakeback challenge which I failed. I basically had to play 4 table NL25 to make the points I needed in 1 month.

Spoiler:

I played too much volume and not my best game. I also played higher stakes to chase losses and make the challenge, which ended up my busting my complete roll, beeing on a mild downswing. Pretty dumb decisions in hindsight to throw away 3 months of work.

Spoiler:
I filtered for AA/KK/QQ/AK

Seems like AA/KK/QQ/AK are no good hands to go to showdown with

Money is not an issue. I could redeposit $1K and continue. It is more like there is something inside of me that needs to click to be successful at poker. It is hard to describe. If anyone knows what I mean or had the same issues I would be very curious to know about it.

I basically ask you guys for any kind of help. Regarding the technical side of the game, mental game, general help to approach the game. Also I need some kind of community to talk about poker (goals) to achieve succes. So if anyone is interested in helping me it would mean the world to me.

I will define some goals when I made up my mind what to do. Thanks for reading future friends!

I guess this one is NSFW

Hello, sir! I also struggled with chasing any rakeback deal too. It forced me to play way more than I'm used to and I feel that my game quality automatically declines.

What I do know if I get any rakeback deals is I play 2-3 days and see if the the volume required to complete the challenge is reasonable, if not, I just give up the rakeback race. If I have to move up in stakes and play way more, it can do more harm than good.

My advice to you is to stick with what you did for 500k hands, because you were definitely on the right track.

While facing big downswings it's advisable to take a few days/ a week break from the tables. But if you grind any rakeback deal, you have to play day in and day out, which can harm your winrate.

The last part of the graph can only be explained as tilt. You need to fix your mental game and it's not that easy because everyone is different. Just like any other affliction in life it will never truly change unless you absolutely want it to. You will have to search within you and find the answer yourself which may sound like a deflating answer but I promise you the answer to your problems truly lies within and you WILL find it if you search for it.

PM if you ever need someone to chat with.
