What’s with the absurd amount of white chips at Lucky Chances, and $20 chips but no reds?

Got about 400 hands in of 25nl last night. Only 1 tabling for now to really focus and apply some new concepts to my game etc...

i have an interesting hand that i will post. Online has been very fun for me lately. It feels like i haven't played online in so long lol, but this break from live and being able to use the hours for online has honestly been amazing and i can't wait to keep putting in hands. come sit at a table with me and say hi

Re: I live in my car. Turning 21 in 2months. Then turning pro to chase my dreams. Come watch.

Ok so this one got me thinking. The mistake is calling pre flop with this hand but called given the price anyways.. as played..

Question: Should i shove this turn instead of raising to the size i made it? i feel as if i shove, KKxh or QxQh will call and if they fold getting them to fold 23% equity is ok with me. Also felt like that .63 cent raise felt strong since there was a limper i would imagine him to raise bigger. idk this one is making my head hurt lol

river meh fold obviously.

What type of concepts are you attempting to apply to your game?

-------------------

As for your hand you posted above, I've left my thoughts below:

1. The 0.63 raise pre by villain should not feel super strong to you. You would assume that a good player would make a larger raise (0.90?) given that there is a limp in front of them. The fact that the player raised to 0.63 means that the player either read somewhere that the standard pre-flop raise is 2.5x the BB and just decided to go with it. Regardless, you guys are playing 120 big blinds deep, so even if you think they are making a small raise to "bait you into the flop", your implied odds are too good.

2. I would consider raising flop. You are vs. two opponents who can have a variety of hands that will call, and there are some bad turn cards (heart, J) that may kill your action

3. Given that you did not raise the flop, I would consider not raising the turn (not because I think villain has a flush, but I've found that most of the time, villain won't call here without a flush).

4. If you are gonna raise the turn, I'd make the size bigger (probably $16 or $17 total). Gives villain worse direct odds at trying to draw to a flush with a hand like AhAx or KhKx, as well as less implied odds if he makes his flush.

5. As played on river, I'd lean towards folding, unless you want to bluff-catch.

-----------------

What are you doing for Thanksgiving rubrub? Last we heard regarding your family, you left your parents' house to sleep in your car because you couldn't make curfew. Are you invited back for Thanksgiving dinner?

My advice regarding you posting graphs (as I've said before in your thread, and you either ignored or didn't see) is...posting a 300-400 hand sample means next to nothing for everyone viewing this thread. If you really want to post PT graphs, then I would suggest posting a graph of all of your activity over the given month, or even the given week. A 400 hand graph doesn't mean a whole lot.

Good luck, assuming you recognize a couple of the questions that I have asked you, I will plan to follow on twitch if you're streaming when i'm online

You raise the flop with the intention of trying to get called by worse hands. It also allows you to take the betting lead on a LOT of turn cards, and letting you bet for value on basically all non-heart and non-jack turn cards. I'm still a little confused why you decided to raise the turn, and weren't somewhat concerned that your opponent could have a flush already.

(Edit: and for balance, you can also raise the flop with flush draws sometimes, and that allows you to bet the heart turns for value).

But also, each player develops their own strategy and own style to what they think is best, and that's the great thing about poker.

Regarding the session PT graphs - if you want to keep posting them, then go for it. I can't imagine a lot of followers are getting a lot out of it, but if you want to then it's all you.

Regarding the stream:
-Is your internet connection (from your car) good enough to both play and stream? The only reason I ask is because it seemed to be a little laggy, and you open-folded AK in a 5NL game towards the end of your stream (I couldn't tell if you decided to fold it, or if you just timed out on that table).

Simply put in poker you want to cram in as much money as you can when you're ahead and less or no money when you're behind...but yeah as previous poster posted raise flop prolly barrel turn (since your range is uncapped and you could be x/r with the flush draw) and give up river...and your raise size on the turn is horrible way to small...OP when you want to raise someone keep in mind that you should at least raise 3x of their original bet size...if you can try to get a coach man the things you will learn will blow your mind you will realize you don't know s h I t about poker..

Hero checks, UTG bets $2.38, fold, Hero calls $2.38

Turn: ($7.26, 2 players) 2
Hero checks, UTG bets $5.17, Hero calls $5.17

River: ($17.60, 2 players) 4
Hero checks, UTG bets $12.28 and is all-in, ????

Questions
  1. Should i 3bet preflop? why?
  2. is a check raise needed on either the flop or turn? why?

last thing our villain is risking 12.28 to win 17.6 which tells us that we need to be defending this river 59% to keep villain indifferent

I'd 3bet preflop and as played would raise the flop. A turn raise would be bad.

Re: I live in my car. Turning 21 in 2months. Then turning pro to chase my dreams. Come watch.

Update: i have been playing online recently for the past 5days playing a mix of 25nl and 50nl but mainly 25nl. i would like to play a decent number of hands at 25nl before i move up to 50nl regularly.

i download the software Pokeit and i honestly seem to enjoy it very much. you can create graphs and review your sessions from ignition which is extremely helpful. So from this point forward i will start posting my online progress here.

update on my life situation. still grinding pretty hard at the local casino and just keeping up with my daily study. So yeah thats it pretty boring i know. I would like to be at 100nl soon and i believe i can make it with proper BRM and study. so 25nl here we come have about 2200 hands logged so far will post graph at 10k. ill post some hands in here for discussion as well. talk soon

Hi thanks for your concern but I'm giving poker everything i got. If i reach 24 years old like i said in the past and I'm not making 100k+ a year i will return to school.

As of now all my time and energy is being given to this game that i love so much. I want to be happy in my life and this is making me the happiest i have every been. i know a lot of people will disagree with me but again its my life and i chose this path. i appreciate all the concern people have told me over the year. 24 years old is never to late to go back to school. Lets say i do go to school and get my degree and make 70k+ a year working a job that makes me want to kill myself and find out i want to give poker a shot. i rather take my shot when I'm young 21 years old and give it everything i got to try and achieve my dreams at an early age. 1. cause i know i will make it. 2. i value happiness.

As of now i will continue to keep grinding day in and day out. Also you guys will be able to see my progression through the stakes. i have been working very hard and i feel like I'm ready to beat online poker and try to make some money online just like how I'm printing in the live games

Re: I live in my car. Turning 21 in 2months. Then turning pro to chase my dreams. Come watch.

Just wanted to stop by and give an update. We currently have 2500 hands logged in at 25nl ignition. Wanted to ask here what is a good win rate and a good sample for 25nl? i feel like I'm ready to move up and i have a good bank roll to do so but i really want to do this right.

i want to move up in stakes in the online world. I honestly feel like i have what it takes. My schedule so far has been wake up get some coffee and breakfast with my GF and then from 2pm-6pm grind zone and then 6pm-8pm have some dinner with my GF then 8pm -3am grind ( i need to work on this part) i have been getting lazy towards that time mainly cause I'm up like 5BIs and don't want to hit the downswing lol.

Anyways my question before: What is a solid win rate and hand sample at 25nl before considering moving up?

Small sample but here is my graph so far thanks to Pokeit i can track my sessions thank god lol.

And here is a pic of my recent Road trip to disneyland with my GF

hand sample is irrelevent at micro, just move up when your bankroll allows it, then move back down if your bankroll gets to that point
