Re: I live in my car. Turning 21 in 2months. Then turning pro to chase my dreams. Come watch.

Hello everyone. Had work so didn't put in mega volume i probably wont see huge session volumes till like net month when my schedule clears as for now just the solid 1 table grind of 25nl and 10nl. Making sure to keep up with pokersprout and studying specific spots i have marked. Just constantly trying to improve and i hope you guys get to see me make it.

Got 5th in this tournament.

25NL

10NL

So from the 30$ we are at about $250

Same thing tomorrow just improve day by day.

Not to sure about river decision here. Call or fold? I'm never raising but i guess what hands do we beat on this river? How many value combos do we beat? How many bluffs does he have here? No reads other than i called him down with bottom pair when he tried to rep flush with Kc blocker when his story made no sense.

Hes saying he has a flopped straight or a set which i guess would make sense if we think he's flatting JJ, QQ, AA pre. KT i can see this flatting obviously. Tough spot for me what do you guys think?

The guy is 64/52/27 over 44 hands.... you c-bet 1/4 and get raised and you're thinking about folding 2pair?

1/4 has been my standard at this point in the game. So the raise i don't believe was designed for that. Im more concerned with his line what hands take this line? T9ss? 25nl player flatting AK on btn? never. I'm just not sure what we beat here?

Firstly, the fact that you're considering this as "a spot" is awesome. So many players would say "YOU HAVE TWO PAIRS JUST CALL THE CALLING CALL BUTTON DUH!" and you didn't. Awesome.

In my opinion and from what I've seen of the 25NL games recently from coaching players is that your opponent is almost never bluffing in this spot with these sizes. Typically, draws bomb turns. Not many 25NL players are intelligent enough to think something like "well, he's check-calling about always when I bet, so I might as well maximize the river pressure if I miss and/or balance with my value hands if the flush draw misses to get maximum value as frequently as possible." The typical 25NL thought process is not multi-street, though it can be. So I'm not saying he's incapable of these thoughts, simply that they're less likely.

Back to the hand, I think you've played it well and that you might be able to find a hero fold on the river. This is all about if your opponent is capable of value raising worse on the flop and following through with these bet sizes. I don't think that's the case, even AK played this way is foolish. QJs is extremely optimistic and there is what, only one combination of it remaining?

I'd focus much more of him having it or not in this case. Counting and naming combinations is all well and good, but this is much more of a classic "I have a bluff catcher and can he be bluffing often enough for me to call here?" To that, I say no and to toss it in this game against this player. Even if you're considering busted combination draws that raise the flop, you're facing many more value hands than bluffs and his bet size is too expensive for your bluff catcher to call. You aren't getting the right odds.

Again, this is predicated on his thought process being less likely multi-street and exploitive and more of a "let's get value." Even if he's decent and has somewhat blinded aggression as you indicate, even those types of players understand that it's difficult for 25NL players to fold top pair often at all. I would venture to say that even this player understands that by the river you have something like AK or AJ on average, unless you continuation bet too many boards too often and he's aiming to exploit that by putting too many of those marginal continuation betting hands into a tough spot by the river, e.g. AhTh type hands.

Was browsing and found this, had to comment.

Betting 1/4psb against a whale with 2 pair is really bad. You have 2 pair against a whale. He's clicking buttons, he's not putting you on a range. He can have so many worse Ax, random bluffs, QJ. You have to be loving life and licking your lips in this situation!

Re: I live in my car. Turning 21 in 2months. Then turning pro to chase my dreams. Come watch.

Sup guys starting tonight I'm going to posting my graph nightly, so i have been studying a lot lately and just been using online poker as a way to implement new things i learned and to sharpen my game. I only play about 1-2 tables cause i really focus. my goal is 1k hands a day that seems to be what i can crank out while working.

little update i still live in my car due to some financial issues i had to take care of so getting the place wouldn't be smart right now, but what that means is i just need to continue to work hard and stack my money. Ill post some more chip stacks when i go to the casino. Follow me on this journey

Hi Rub,

Happy to see you made another thread and are continuing to play poker. I'm happy to see you have found your way into live poker. I had mentioned this to you in multiple previous threads that if you are looking to make money from poker, live poker is probably the way to go. You can play higher stakes vs worse players.

Below are a couple of comments regarding trying to keep the thread entertaining.

1.) I imagine nobody cares about you "being in the lab" and your 267 hand samples of small stakes online poker. I know you only play 1-2 tables when you play to "focus", but most online players can play this hand sample in like 30 minutes. I would also imagine that you don't really care about this either, as you are doing it mainly for practice/training for your live sessions.

2/) If you want to turn your PG&C into a live poker thread, I would check out some of the other live poker PG&C threads to see what they are like (2p2 user ButterflySymmetry runs a cool one). Also, taking detailed notes about interesting hands while you are at the table, and relaying them back to this thread will lead to interesting discussion. Instead of you posting <300 hand samples of micro stakes online.

just another note here...

the fact that your green line (actually money won) is absurdly above your yellow line (expected value of money won) means that you are running +EV in your <300 hand sample. More likely than not, you won a coin flip during this short session (maybe two?).

Definitely not something to brag about, or something to expect a congratulations from other users - especially since you are just using these online sessions in order to "practice" for your live sessions, right?
