If you can beat 100NL it is only for a tiny win-rate. Right now you are running white hot. Please move down in stakes, save your bankroll and play $1/2 live when you turn 21. The game will be much easier if you can be patient. I don't think you have the discipline to make it as a pro, right now you are way too immature.

No way. You can't just jump in 100NL and beat it, even for a small win rate. Honestly, good advice though, but OP probably won't realize it.

I was set to reply specifically to these two posts but just realized they are trolls.

OP, what kind of bankroll do you have for live? I hear the rake at the low stakes in Cali can be quite prohibitive. Good luck!

That's not a troll. If you can beat 2NL you are very likely to beating 1/2 live at a good clip.

That's a pretty terrible statement. They are totally different games and beating a game is way different than making a living off a game. Black Friday happened and many an online pro tried to play live and failed. We've seen this play out time and time in these forums too with players crashing and burning. There are many regular forum members here who were unsuccessful in playing live poker for a living. 1/2 is particularly difficult due to the rake. To make it sound like it is easy is disingenuous and is pretty much setting this poster up for failure.

well the only reason they might have failed is because they were bored out of their mind, not because they couldn't beat the games

There are a variety of reasons why players fail at making a living playing poker. Not being disciplined enough for the live 1/2 is certainly a big one. If you think it's so easy you could make a killing staking players. We all know there are plenty of players that would love to be staked at 1/2. You could make beating 2NL a prerequisite.

I don't know about beating NL2, but if you were playing for a living online prior to black friday there's just no way you can't beat live games

I'm speaking strictly in terms of skill. Today's 2NL is far more difficult than average 1/2 live. I know this because I play live and online both. If you have the ability to beat 2NL you can beat 1/2 live. Discipline is another issue altogether.

I agree, it's a completely different game especially when the stacks are getting deep. While the level of play at 1/2 ranges from horrible to atrocious, I think micro grinders underestimate how dropping a few buy-ins at the snail pace of live differs from their 8+ tabling online play. No HUD, short-cutting building ranges and how the opponent responds to how you attack those ranges is also different.

I didn't say they're the same. FFS you guys. All I'm saying is that if you have the knowledge to beat 2NL than you are already capable of beating 1/2 live. If you can't handle the pace or tilt or whatever is your problem but it's not your actual skill at cards that's the problem.

Probably busto. Most people stop updating their PGC threads if they hit a huge downswing or lose their whole bankroll.

I don't understand. This guy said he wanted to take poker serious and strive his life to become a poker pro. Then he shows us graphs, and it takes him 24 days to play 5.6k hands... That should be 1-3 days a grinder multi tabling depending on Zoom or Reg Tables. Thats like play 230 hands a day. 1 hour a day playing 2 tables... lol. I dont understand how you can progress your game and study to improve playing 5.6k hands a month. Even if you're playing at 5bb/100 at 100nl, you're still only making $280, but we all know that cant happen putting in that low of volume, unless you run great every month without coolers.

I understand you're a troll, but if you want to commit to being a pro, you need way more volume in your game.
