Just to give you an example and to show you that even in a HS hyper, I shouldn't just have 1 cbet sizing even when trying to play a 'balanced' strategy against another strong reg

Glgl out there, keep it up. Should see about visiting Tgiggity and I down here in Rosarito before he bounces from the area in (likely) a few months
Yeah that's interesting. Stack depths will definitely affect our strategy as well to a major degree, I've never run a sub 40bb sim, but 100bb T92 is mostly a large sizing (75%-125%) and you're never really using half pot or 1/3rd. Whereas say something like 752rb BB vs BU Pio will recommend a mix of multiple sizes.

But to Jdawg's first point, absolutely correct. But I usually just recommend using a simplified strategy as some of it can get fairly complex.

Yeah I agree if I have 100bb to work with post flop 75-125% should be the size but stacks are so swallow post flop. Raise sizes to 30-40 just to get HU creates a low SPR and wouldnít that mean smaller bets are in order? I see your point on using a simplified strategy thanks for your response man!

Re: I live in my car. Turning 21 in 2months. Then turning pro to chase my dreams. Come watch.

Lost three big hands yesterday that put me down -400. 99, TT and JJ

Start out by opening $15 9 9 from UTG, fish on BTN 3! To $40, Short stack all in for $65, back to me and I reshove , Fish calls w/ QJo, Qj457 and Iím stuck -200.

Fast forward a bit and Iím up about $200 then these two hands come back to back to stack me for the night.

Older man raises $35 over a few limps in CO and I call with J J (played with this man before, $35 raise here can be AKs or AQs, I have seen him raise smaller actually with big pairs) Flop 5 3 4 checks to me, I fire $20 (he has $140 left) he shoves A Q , Turn 2

Few limps to me in the SB w/ TT and raise to $25, only older Asian gambler calls. Flop (44) 2 3 5 I bet $15, He raises to $70 (he has about $225 behind) I reshove for his whole stack, thinks for 3 mins and calls with A 6 wtf...... Turn Ace...

Live Bankroll $3,822

Result -$400

So as you can see itís been pretty rough for me these past couple of sessions. I took Saturday off to rest.

Today Tgiggity put me in the $375 20k for first , Lucky Chances tournament. It was a great tourney and I played very well I believe. Unfortunately I ran AK into QQ and Aces for all the chips at around 30bb. I had a great time and extremely grateful to be able to play the tournament thanks to Tgiggity.

Iíll probably take today off from cash games as well and start fresh tomorrow.

Also instead of posting live Bankroll Iím going to just post the overall profit so there is no confusion. Something like this..

Cash game profits $1,005

Hrs Played

Todayís result

So I have been thinking and something that Iím going to try out this week is leaving the table if Iím ever up $120. Reason for this is $120 is a great day for 8hrs of Play of 1/1/2. Thatís $15hr and Iím not sure I should expect to win more than that. I would like to hear your thoughts on this??

Once I leave the casino up $120, I will use the remainder of my time playing two tables of reg speed online poker for now. I feel like this could be a good combo for success because I will be always playing 8hrs of poker and lowering my risk of losing a big pot deep stacked to put me in the red.

When I go to the casino I plan on playing 8hrs. So if Iím stuck -200 first few hours Iíll stay for the full 8hrs. I just feel like if I get lucky enough to be up $120 in like 3hrs for example like today , that it just makes sense to book a win that you expect to win in 8hrs and leave.

Terrible idea. In my opnion, you want to play longer when you're winning and shorter when you're losing. Plus, your hourly isn't going to be 15/hr if you leave after $120 because youre going to have some losing sessions as well. You're gonna need some +800 days to make up for the times you run poorly.

Playing big pots is where a lot of your winrate comes from. $120 is (maybe) a great average, not a great day.

Your top priority should be getting over the fear/doubt of actually doing your job, playing the game, making the most money. Sometimes this is a mental block, sometimes it's your intuition telling you you're taking a genuinely unsafe level of risk. If you're scared money you're treading water

Horrible idea.... no upside on the days that you win, and so much downside on the days that you lose.

You should be shooting for a much higher winrate than $15/hour. Top players can easily make $20+/hour at 1/2. Also a huge part of your winrate is going to come from playing deeper stacked against weaker players. You dont get to do that when you rack up as soon as you make $120. I'd venture to guess that your winrate with that plan isnt even $10/hour.

Lol, lucky enough to be up $120 in 3 hours at 1/2 (this breaks my heart lol there are so many better things $$$ wise)

If you are really beating 100nl for 5bb/100 u realize that you can make 5k a month grinding that instead of playing 200nl live right...

This is a sad thread man i've been there is so much i want to say to help you but i don't think ull listen or idk maybe u will but it's hard to say it all on the internet.

Anyway maybe you are happy idk if so disregard this post

The idea def doesn't make sense but if it got you to play more online than live hours I think you'd be better off. I still think grinding 1/2 live is not in your best interest.

Life's too short to be playing poker when ur young (im roughly same age as u lmao) anyway it rlly depends on the person and what their situation/perspective is but best time for this was a long time ago anyhow it will take A LOT of work to reach the top

Long term is hard to think about but you just need to and envision urself say once u've achieved everything what now what is ur mindset like are u happy etc.

Move to a place where u can play 2/5 with a max BI for 1000 or uncapped and prolly go back to school pretty sure there are a few places here in the states (get to midstakes potentially, but even if u play less then 15 hours a week of 2/5 ur set for the month), also actually study the game like how ppl study chess it's literally the same principle and no i don't mean watching videos or going on some website for a some monthly type subscription and u seem to $$$ orientated which is not good for ur life trust me.

Alright that's all the advice im going to give not trying to sound arrogant but i feel bad lol (arrogant) but u can take it if u want poker is pretty straightforward now a days. I'm sort of drunk btw idk what im doing just sitting in front of computer thinking about nothing

I respectfully disagree. I believe the best time to play poker is when youíre young. Sure maybe in 2003 it was the best time to play but that doesnít mean itís an impossible dream. I understand that hard work is what it takes to make it as a poker player and I have been working the hardest I can since I moved into my car and I plan on keep working the hardest.

Long term you say to think about when I make it, am I happy? My ďmake itĒ is being able to financially support my family with poker and I love poker so much that I would be smiling everyday to work.

Move to a place that holds 2/5 w/ a max 1k buyin, well Iím in lucky because Lucky Chances 2/5 game runs 24/7 and there is always great action. They even hold regular 5/10/20

Poker is my path to success. You will never see me give up. This thread will keep staying alive even when I ďmake itĒ to remind myself to never give up on what makes you feel alive

Hey Rubrub,

Don't know your real name, but here goes whatever. You're probably sick of everybody trying to help you, but from what I can see following your blog last 6-8 months you're willing to work hard to get some cash equity see doorstash if that's what it's called, however your results are like pretty bad to so so so far.

I think you have to be honest with yourself so that you can change your approach to this game and your future. I would focus on increasing the amount of study time. Right now, you seem to be eager to play and make a lot of hours live, which is the worse possible approach to getting better.

I would suggest you keep a studying journal instead of all these useless result updates. Also buy HM2 to apply the studying you did to effectively group population tendencies and get a grip of the type of opponenet you're playing against and what they are doing wrong.

Maybe you can let tgigiggity or whatever his name is let you buy a monthly subscription to upswing poker or raise your edge cash game course. You need to get better to beat this game for more than just the $ 5-10/h you are scraping out of it now,

Also sitting on your ass for 8-10 hours per day and smoking is a no go combination, this will kill you faster than anything. Focus on healthy meals like salads or eating good breakfasts and try and exercise 2-3 times per week to counter poker's bad habits. Whenever you feel like smoking try and replace it with something creative/exercise focused. Also try and stop smoking together with someone else who you can call whenever you have a hard time quitting.

I'm a tournament player myself, but if you wanna see some great content about cash games. Look up Steffan Sontheimer on twich recording for the No limit Gaming channel. Just take a noteblock and write down what he does what looks interesting or what you would do differnetly and disscuss this with the RYE community or upswing poker community. Do this for like 1-2 hours every day and you will notice game improvement within 3-4 weeks. Discuss these new concepts that you learn with gtgiggity on skype call like 1 a week. If you really want it yoy can do it, but you will have to show how much you want it. I'll just link the twitch video, good luck and may hyour poker sklls and mental game increase. Also no time for spelling check life is too short (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/384936986)

Right now you want it a little bit, so you will get little bit of results as well you know.

Also in a year time or two start saving proper money and try to follow mr money mustache online and what he preaches about investing money and saving.
