I disagree you actually responded to people and hopefully learnt your lesson and I assume you're not living in a car. I would guess OP has read the comments in this thread and is just ignoring it all as it's pretty hard for him to defend himself. He will probably show up sometime in the future with some bs explanation for his absence and how everybody....you guessed it ''has it all wrong'' either way some people have to learn the hard way and others never learn.

You should be finishing school and going towards your dream job at 21, not live in your car and drop out of school, to pursue a goal such as becoming a poker pro.

Yes, there are exceptions, but those exceptions don't fail and are smart about it in the first place. They have their mind/emotions in right place and poker won't really have an impact in their life if they don't succed in poker, because they have other more important things to do outside of it. OP is clearly not this exception and all of you giving him false HOPE, which it is, just a HOPE.

I'm all for people that are dedicated and pursuing their goals, but you have to know when to step back and think about what are you doing and where you ended up after few years. And how better it would be if you spent this time working or on some other hobby.

I honestly feel your life should fall apart right now and you finally reevaluate things, because if your life will fall apart at 26 or 30 you are probablly going to kill yourself knowing you achieved nothing. seems harsh, i mean he's going about it v stupidly but if he wants to take a shot it's possible without him ruining his life. He just needs to get some sort of stable job so he can sleep indoors and eat, then grind/save up a roll and try playing live part time until it's worth it to leave his job. I'm pretty sure someone could learn enough to beat LA 2/5 in a few months starting from near nill if they really tried, beside that it's just having the money/stability to actually play.

The poor choices I made at 20-22 was a cataylst for what I am today. In all honesty, I doubt I would have even close to the same level of success if I didnt take those chances as a kid.

I'm not sayin I agree with his approach, but sometimes each of us need to take our own path to see what works and what doesn't. I'm glad I did it in my early 20s and not 20 years later. I'm not that bright and I figured it all out, OP could do the same.

Different types of gambling, lived in my car when I wasnt scrounging money on a budget motel and a bad relationship with family. I was in my early 20s, I obviously knew everything As far as takeaways, I became much better with money, appreciated having a good safety blanket, stronger relationships and decided if I was going to work for someone else, it would need to be on my terms.

I've worked remote (Unix admin late 90s) either part of the time or 100% (now) for 17 years. I'm not saying I'd recommend anyone take the same path, I'm just throwing out the idea that there's often lessons that can shape your future.
