V1. ($85) has been shoving mostly every hand blind, buys in for $40 kills then shoves blind .
V2. ($350) This is someone I know really tight player, actually She is the flooor she works here and she knows me and we have a good relationship.

Kill pot Hero has AA and raises to $16, V2 calls in CO, V1 shoves for $81. Hero Flats, V1 flats

Flop: ($243) T96 V2 has a PSB behind. Hero shoves , snap Call She has TT run out 3 4

I guess question here is should I throw in the raise after the fish jams. I felt like calling was the best play to keep all her weakest hands in since they are drawing slim. And if she has JJ+ she’s going broke on any low flop I believe or at least I can extract a little something. I didn’t think she was flatting TT for $80 so when I shoved I felt like she has no sets misread read obv but idk if that matters?? Is there anything I can do or is this just a pre set lost?

Currently have $200 that hand crippled my little rush in the beginning to 590 but just sitting back order some green tea and play my cards.

You’re killing it, love your attutude. A few thoughts.

Flatting is fine here, and you’ll sometimes get hands like TT and JJ and AQ/AK to push over your flat. However, a lot of those hands will call a push preflop but fold when they miss the flop. So I’d push pre with the $100+ in there already. As played, fine, just a cooler.

That hand doesn’t make sense. If he has a ten what Better hand are you raising pre, check-calling the flop, and checking the turn with? I much prefer betting the flop and checkraising the turn to your line.


Great work ethic/attitude, but I’ll say this. When you just feel like going home, take a walk and then get back to business. But when you’re tired and/or unfocused, just go home and put in some extra hours when you’re playing your best.

@el Diablo I like the line Bet/ c/r turn. My thoughts were on this dry flop texture OOP I can have a easy time realizing my equity. Now looking back I prefer your line with the Straightdrww overs and back door spades. So after you bet this flop you are c/r the 2s? You’re not firing again ?

I doubt that villian is really a tag, he should have no limp calling range there at all, maybe he is a tight fish. Flop is bet, much higher ev than check. Turn is then going to be bet to fold 9x and small pp and some floats. C/r would be terrible, you let his sdv see the river and hes not folding 10x given he just limp called in these positions for that size, even a 'tag' would call 10x tor that price. Also his turn betting range could eaily be at+ and draws.

Just woke up my god it’s hot today. The sun was beaming the life out of me this morning. My back is killing me really bad and I need some breakfast and coffee ASAP.

Picking up Charmaine in 20mins, going to watch the troopers vlog haha he’s not very good at poker but his videos and work ethic to put a video everyday is why I love to watch every morning haha.

Then I think I’ll take Charmaine to watch incredibles 2 I have been wanting to see it and so has she, but I’ll probably work doordash for 2hrs to pay for the tickets. Movie tickets are about $15 each.

When you live in your car I rather it be cold then hot. I hate hot weather tbh like I like it on occasion but in general I love the cold. For me it’s easier to get Hot then cold you feel me haha. Ok I’m just typing nonsense now haha poker tonight

Friday Nights Yum Yum

Beautiful day today. Woke up and met up with Charmaine to get some coffee and breakfast like we always do. We ended up getting some loco moco and some coffee a Starbucks. I also bought tickets to see incredibles 2 at 4:15 she was really excited. Ended up having a great time and the movie was awesome!!

Friday nights are always juicy at my casino no one has work the next day for most so chips are flying. In for 400 after losing some medium pots earlier on then gain some momentum then Played a big hand where basically guy gifted me with $600

3limps, V raises to $18 in CO (was steaming from a $250 lost to my rivered flush and his two pair.) Hero has A5 and makes the call on BTN 5 ways to a flop

Flop: A72 checks to Hero who bets $45, only V calls
Turn:5 checks to Hero who bets $100, V instantly throws all his black in the middle I think for 15secs before calling.
River:7V confidentially rolls over TT and Hero scoops.

So yeah good action and tbh I didn’t want to leave but I’m not trying to play anymore than 8hrs right now since I’m in this for the long haul I want to play 7days a week 8hrs a day and to do that I can’t be putting in like 12-14 hr sessions I enjoy sleep haha.

In for $400 nothing went our way today. Low point I was down $300 so happy to climb up a little to book a small loss. Nothing much to report was a pretty boring 8hrs but glad to have completed the 8hr a day goal cause I wanted to go home earlier in the session but I took a 15min break and pushed thru. Now it’s time for bed. Night night.

Played pretty bad today made some horrible bluffs in spots where they are just never folding. Not sure why I did that. Pretty upset with myself that I dusted two buy ins like that because I could have stuck to my normal tight game but I got to fancy in spots and it cost me. Well I’m updating either way win or lose so yeah down 400 that’s my stop loss. Back at it tomorrow night night.

After yesterday horrible session went to bed early and got a great night rest (as best as it gets in a car). Today I decided to do Doordash for 6hrs or so to just kill time before the casino and to make money. The act of making money from DoorDash makes me feel good haha even if it’s like$60.

I’m excited to play tonight and ready to play my normal game. I’m not sure what go into me last night but I was playing so loose and couldn’t help myself. I felt myself feeling that “itch” to make the money I lost back.

It’s funny cause I use to always feel like that and it had one of the worst negative outcomes all the time. Poker is about sitting there and waiting for hands. Pushing small edges just doesn’t make sense. Trying to get people to fold Second pair just doesn’t happen. Sit back play your cards and print money in your 8hr duration. Ok rant over. Getting some coffee then ima go work. Talk soon.

Sometimes after a nice winning session on a fun table you feel like you can come back in on a new table on a new day and pick up right where you left off. It's not the case. You have a new set of people to feel out and a new image to cultivate, and many of the plays you tried won't work with the new group of villian.....yet.

I forget this often too, and catch myself doing some dumb ****, catching a reality check, and having to shift gears for a new group.

Yeah I definitely agree with you. It’s good to get a little reality check once in awhile. Tonight I’ll come in with a better mindset than yesterday that’s the goal.

I’m open rasing $12 adding +$4 for every limper?

Should I ever limp behind? Hands like ATo and AJo came to mind cause they keep the weaker Ax and Jx combos in V range? What about suited connectors? IP I raise hands like 98s and T9s should I limp behind 87,76,56??

Any tips anyone would like to throw at me from live experience please shoot them my way. I want to hear all advice please I want to make it.

Yes limping behind is good with some hands but at/aj are too strong to not raise basically always, raise size is good for 300nl, can deviate though depending on situation. With low spr you should limp more, 100bb vs 1/2 opponents you should very rarely need to limp.

I think that if you are playing with a $400 stop loss, always raising sc's 87-JT, you might find yourself often bumping up against that stop ceiling. Having said that, I think that you should be raising the afore mentioned sc range at 1/2, with some occasional calling. Of course, most of your calling/raising is dictated by what sort of opponent(s) you are up against, as well as, the general flow of the game. I.e. a nit raises utg, do you want to 3b in position w/ AJo or ATo?

Limp behind with most of the suited connectors and suited aces. Basically hands that can make big hands but can otherwise be easily dropped.

Sometimes raise with hands like AT/AJ when you can narrow the field and get paid off by dominated hands. But be aware when you’re in games where old regs limp AJ/AQ and sometimes even AK.

In general, I’d recommend raising a little smaller than you’re doing with most hands. Let’s say the middle 70% of your range. And raise the amount you’re currently raising with the top and bottom 15% of your range. Something like that, details don’t really matter. The reason I like usually raising smaller than you’re doing in those games is that the effective stack size is often pretty shallow, and as the better player (hopefully!) it’s to your advantage to have more play in the hand. Otherwise you’ll just find yourself pot-committed and behind a lot. If it’s late and your table is mostly pretty deep, then you can increase your raise sizing a bit. How common is straddling in that game?

@el Diablo Straddling is common in the games I play in. I agree that a lot of old regs limp AK/AQ So if you are facing two limps in MP with AJo vs those players I should limp behind? My standard play would be to raise to $20. And usually take it down or get 1 caller and play HU post flop.

I might need to size down a little maybe like $8 +4 for every limper or something. Thanks for the response!
