Haven't really been playing any KO hypers this past month. Kinda moving onto playing MTTs and have been getting coaching that is more catered to that. Had a pretty good run at them. Played around 2.5k games and ran at around 3.5% ROI although I think that a higher number is very likely achievable with more study. The problem with KOs for me is that correct strategy often involves calling with hands you know are behind equity wise in a lot of spots in order to acquire bounties which can lead to a lot of variance more so than regular cash hypers but they are a fun and profitable format. Had a pretty high bb/100 in them over my sample.

End up month update. Had a pretty rough month with quite a lot of swings. Moving up and then instant downswinging was just gross and I ran atrocious in a lot of high equity pots in the MTTs while hypers just felt like a doom switch. Not really concerned though. Getting some MTT coachings from bencb instead of on 6max hypers since I've been starting to play them more. I think I am quite mentally prepared for the variance of MTTs and the level of play in them is so much worse than in the 6max hypers anyway. Looking forward to learning and playing more next month.

So it's been a pretty swingy month so far. Binked an MTT at the start, then won two sunday milly sats, played the milly and lost a flip AK vs QQ and then decided to just grind 6m hypers again since mid-sem break ended and I don't have time to put in 6-8hr sessions.

So atm I'm playing the $30 hypers with some $25KO sessions mixed in when there are too many highstakes regs throwing in sessions at $30s for volume. I try to game select a bit so just either end up with KO or reg hyper session depending on where the fish are. Just try to avoid playing 5 regs 1 fish games. Decent results so far at both:

Had a lot of fun this month with the swings :P This month was back to playing some hypers but still having quite a lot of MTT sessions. I am switching between the two based on how much time I have for games but will pretty much always fire up MTTs on monday morning. Endurance and focus has gotten a lot better after as I am giving myself more time to prepare/warm-up before a session. Doing some meditation and some basic yoga exercises before a sessions has been really great for that and I feel I'm a lot more emotionally stable as a result of it.

$30 and $15 hypers this month. Although I've been more studying postflop spots and looking at a lot of MTT situations I'm definitely doing pretty well EV wise in hypers now. While I still make some mistakes and finding myself unsure of what to do in a particular spot definitely playing way more consistently now and my thought process has gotten heaps better. Still a lot of repetition and refinement required for me to move up + also need some run good of course.

Mostly studying for exams atm but still getting some hours in here and there. Currently 8 tabling a mix of $15/$30 hypers.

Interesting to see that stars released a beat the clock format. Hyper MTTSNG zoom with shorter starting stack but not as ******ed as the 10BB 18man KOs. Stakes are too low for me to bother grinding them though I played one and it was pretty fun. Definitely suitable for recs and I imagine still profitable with the 10% rake. Looks like they're trying to increase the speed of poker to give more of a gamble feel which I have mixed feelings about.

So first day of WSOP Sydney today. Fired the $110 main sat and had some fun. Quite fast structure and had a fun time. Lots of hilarious bad plays with a mixture of people being too nitty when short stacked and also too loose. Had a lady fold and show AJs with 4bb left vs an open and some people putning off when short so they can rebuy. Can't understand how people rebuy to 5-10bb effective stacks. Busted like 30 off the money after shoving for 10bb with KQ and running into AA to lose half my stack then blinding down.

Not rolled to play the tourneys on my own so gonna be looking to continue selling action.

Online month has been kinda meh mostly due to exams. Will grinding hypers in the morning, playing at night by the looks of it. Online grind continues with me still 3.8k under EV but still doing well at the $30 hypers with a 4% ROI over my 1.6k sample.

Made day 2 of the $440. Played for like 8hours and it's 4am now lol. Day 2 is on saturday atleast. Got about 28bb so pretty much around average stack atm. 40min blind structure was great. Started out with a lot of regs on the first table though which kinda sucked but just hung around. Just so used to short-stack rejam spots and exploit the fish when I can.

So busted day 2 like 20mins into the first level with 25bb. Blind down and then jam KJs for about 10bb vs CO open and lose vs 88. Then go and play 2/3 for a few hours and end a little bit up. Card dead for the most part and then end up making a pretty big bluff in a 3bet pot and getting it through using my nitty image :P Of course didn't show. Gotta love leaving people in suspense.

Fired my monday morning session today as usual. Satellited into the sunday milly and ended up really deep busting around ~130th. Ending was pretty uneventful/standard iso-jammed AKs vs a 10bb shove and lost vs JT then few hands later, calling off ATs SB vs BTN open shove for 14bb to bust against AQo. 1 hand which I had quite a bit of trouble in and ended up fold pre but definitely should've iso-shoved. So ended up cashing for ~$900 felt pretty good about how I played and did run very well to get where I did in that tourney so can't complain. Gonna skip the WSOP turbo tonight at the star and just relax and prep for the tag team

Here was the hand and was for sure a shove.

So played the tag team tourney last night and busted pretty quick like 2hrs in ish. My mate and I just ran card dead for the most part. Folded JJ on a 762tt board on the turn 5 in a 3bet pot multiway. Guy ended up having QQ so pretty happy with that.

In other news I had the most ridiculous sessions tonight and stayed up till now (6am in sydney). Had a coaching session in between two of my sessions. Ran like super bad and am still 1.2k under EV this month alone but redemption came at the end. Fired some $35 hyper 36man sats with a mix of the $7 ones. Ended up shipping a $35 for 1k and snap unregged for the T Money.

Gonna hit the hay now and wake up prepared for tonight's live event. Looking forward to playing the live tourneys but they can get kinda slow but I try to and still struggle to pay attention to a lot of things live relating to physical tells etc.

Main event day 1 flight was today. Had a lot of fun though the structure is quite long and I defs started feeling more tired towards the end. Pretty happy with most of the way I was playing. Just sticking to solid preflop opening ranges and making a few adaptations here and there to exploit the nitty players that satellited in and are **** scared.

Got a pretty healthy stack going into day 2 almost double the average stack at the moment. Really pleased with my performance and had a fun time watching people punt of their stacks.

So post main event update. Managed to make the money but was pretty short for most of the day after losing flip TT vs AJ pre for 3/4 of my stack. Folded my way into the money then ran A2o into A6o pre jamming from CO for 9bb.

On a side note, shipped the hot $44 today for my biggest cash ever. #OneTime. Won a lot of flips to get to FT then just ran over the table. Despite this being my biggest FT so far I felt really good. Was just in the zone playing only 3 tables.

Looking to be an awesome month so far.

So end of year update. Pretty amazed at how far I've come as a player over the past year from a micro 6max hyper fish to a winning player at MTTs and SNGs. While I feel like I made incredible progress I am sure that I could've achieved a lot more in poker but also in other things.
Did quite a bit of shot-taking after the hot $44 bink as can be seen by the swings. Mostly by way of spamming satellites. Had some great fun and feeling quite confident in my ability to continue moving up after seeing how many of the regs in those higher buy-in MTT games are playing, especially on the FT. The Australian legislation changes that may lead to online poker being banned are a big concern for me since I really enjoy playing the online games more so than the live games.

I've started playing some more live games here and there and I think there's tons of money to be made in live poker but it takes quite a long time to overcome the variance and get a sample. Given that I have no control over what will happen I am just going to continue to play until it happens and then just deal with it. No plans to move/relocate overseas or anything at this point just to play online but is something to consider once I finish my degree.

I've thought quite a lot about my goals and reasons for playing poker and what I want out of it. The money that can be won through this game is a means for me to acquire more freedom and flexibility in my life. The process of learning and improving my decision making/thought process has taught me a lot about the biases I have as well as the biases of others and I think that this is something that will serve me well in other areas of life. In terms of developing mental toughness, I've found that I've become much more emotionally stable through the swings.

Haven't updated in a while just been on the grind. Basically TCOOP happened along with a lot of other things. Sold some action for all of the big MTT shots I took but doesn't detract away from the massive downswing I had. In january I shot took some 60s and 100s here and there when the games were looking soft. Didn't go very well though, ended up losing like every hyper I played so like 40BI under EV on my shots. Then dropped back down and continued to run bad in like everything I played for what seemed like forever. I go back and look at it and realize it was less than 2k games.

In early feb I was down to like a $800 roll at one point but then I shipped a hot $4.40 last sunday which really padded my roll back up to a decent level. Really started to question whether I was actually a good player or not. I went to play cash when I was at ~$1500 roll at 50nl and eventually had to drop back down to 25nl. Was getting coolered in so many spots preflop and postflop. Felt like every 3bet pot I would run my overpair into a set and get stacked. Ran KK into AA countless times and just kept losing. Here are the tourney graph and the cash graph for this year so far.

So basically just going to continue rebuilding my roll in cash games and MTTs. Likely going to playing mostly cash but also MTTs when I have a decent sized time slot to grind those. Also had a few HH reviews with my coaches (Bencb and HealTheWorld) and have really been putting in the time to improve my game. I'm confident I can beat the games but it's really just about consistently putting in the hours, playing solid and just riding along through all the variance.

Have for the most part quit playing the 6max hypers because I'm becoming more interested in developing my cash game and postflop skills in MTTs. With the stars rakeback changes this year and the declining volume in hypers I see the cash+MTT combination of grinding to be more sustainable and profitable for me in the long run. Definitely not looking to grind MTTs full time though as I don't really see the hours as something sustainable for me to do this year in conjunction with my final year of uni.

Haven't updated in a while but I guess I'll try to post more often here. Uni started again and I'm in my final year so things I gonna be pretty hectic I guess. Here's my cash results for the last month. Didn't go too great at 100nl EV wise, getting into a lot of cooler situations etc. But had my first coaching session with Ben where we reviewed a recording of a session I played. Got some new preflop ranges and changed up a few things in my game and gonna move down to 50nl for next two weeks and put some volume in.

              Results since feb

Results since my cash game coaching with Ben. Heater + few changes in my game plan.

Brief update. Had a lot of stuff going on this month outside of poker but been grinding it out at 50nl. Took a 5BI shot yesterday at 100z pool insta -4BI and then ran it back up at the end of the session. Pretty sick swings. Then today had a nice +6BI session. Made quite a lot of changes to my game. But I think for the most part what I was lacking before was consistency in thought process/mental game and that has been fixed by adopting a lot of simplifications to my strategy along with meditating everyday for atleast 10mins for the past 20 days. Just able to center myself when facing bad beats etc. and this has let me grind through my session playing my B+/A game way more.
