Hey guys,

I'm a 29 year old Australian from Perth WA.

I went pro in April 2019 playing predominately on Ignition.
Here are my results since going pro.

I went through some growing pains in 2019 but managed to make my way into 2020 with positive development in all aspects of poker and life.

Earlier this year I made one of the best decisions of my career, moving all of my volume to reg tables.

Here's my past 60k hands at 200nl reg tables

With some luck off the tables too I landed myself in the best financial position of my adult life.

So after going on holidays, moving apartments and playing far to many videos games its time to get serious and start getting some solid volume and study in to finish off the year strong.

Goals for the rest of 2020
  • Make 500nl my main game ~ 150k hands
  • Start taking shots at 1knl
  • $50k usd profit
  • Keep updating my blog along the way
  • Maintain weekly exercise and study routine
  • Build on mental game
  • Find 2-3 micro stakes students to coach

Thanks for reading and gl

Eyy thanks for the subs guys

Re coaching probably some kind of cfp'esq deal, don't mind doing some hourly stuff either but find the cfp involvement much more rewarding in terms of progression/involvement with the student. Anyone that's reading this, is interested and playing 25nl-200nl feel free to flick me a pm for more details.

Huge rl win this week, my gf and I have been planing to move to Sweden for the past year or so with the move date set for June.... With the whole Corona virus pandemic travel bans have been in place so we've been super unsure about whats going to happen. Fortunately we've had our travel exemption approved so everything is going to pretty much work out as planned. Booking flights for around the 19th, so hyped!

Luckily we've already moved out of our old apartment so most of the more time consuming stuff is already taken care of. Still lots of friends/family to catch up with and small errands to check off before we go so I will probably be a bit sporadic with updates.

On the poker front its been a bit chaotic, have managed to put in some decent short sessions and a few hours study but not much more.

Couple spicy HH's from the past few weeks.

Hey guys, totally ghosted the thread since moving.

Poker has been on the back burner, finally have everything set up ready to go now so pretty much getting back into the swing of things today.

Will be putting in most of my volume on the apps + some Scandinavian sites once I have my personal identity number (It's a Swedish thing, can't sign up without it)

Thanks for the sub

Off the bat I found the slower pace of reg tables to have a huge boost to my mental game.

Having a time bank also meant more time to make stronger decisions (you don't get one in the Zoom format).

Couple that with good table selection I started having way more A+ sessions which snowballed my motivation to study/play.

Pretty happy with the grind over the past few days, defs in a good mental space atm.

Few hands I felt a bit unsure of, probably mistakes were made, going to spend an hour running sims tonight to finish off the week strong.

Signed my first CFP student this week, so hyped!

I haven't had any students since my contract with a stable expired earlier this year, so stoked to get back into it
Sounds super cliche but I really enjoy helping people/being a part of their journey!

He signed up to a 150k contract @65/35 student coach split which I think is really good value for the level of interaction, experience and strategy I can provide.

He's shotting 50nl and already off to a explosive start with a +10 bi day followed by a -12 bi day

Grind has been pretty amazing past few days, have found some very very good games

App whales

August is a wrap, really stoked at how much motivation/momentum I've built.

Had a super nice end to the month, spent a night at a hotel in Stockholm's Archipelago to celebrate my gfs birthday (pic below).

Pretty hungover today, gonna chill eat some shitty food and get back into the grind tomorrow

Since restarting the grind on the 20th ~ roughly

45 hours game play
5 hours of Pio study
3 sweat sessions with guys playing 500nl-2k
5 hours of coaching
8 work outs

Results

Hey guys,

Month is off to a pretty banging start...
We've been waiting for good weather for the past like 4-5 weeks to go for a ride in a hot air balloon.
Boom randomly spiked a nice day on Monday and went for it, was so sick!!

Poker has been pretty great, finding some really epic games.

Results have been kinda meh but whatcha gonna do!

Took like 4 days off with Balloon ride + drinks and Gfs Bday + drinks so volume has been average at best...
I'm so **** at hangovers legit getting old/lazy

On a really positive note have been killing the fitness goals, have jogged close to 35kms and put in 5 solid body weight workouts so flexin on that front.

**warning ptsd coolers**

Hey guys I've been pretty busy the past few weeks, had my 30th last weekend and some other rl **** on as well as putting in a fair chunk of study/play/coaching and workouts too.

Mostly the theme for past 2 weeks has been about building character.... I've been running really bad, which I handled pretty well for the first 20-25 buy ins or so (super happy about that) but the last 10-15 have been pretty grating to say the least, to the point where i feel like emailing the devs and telling them their app is cooked.

I'm not feeling super stressed about it, just some standard downswing blues ha!
Kinda cuts a bit deeper knowing how insanely soft the games are and running just absolute bottom 5% or w/e.

Put in a tonne of sweats/review the past week or so with a bunch of different guys playing 1k+ and yeah defs making some small'ish mistakes but nothing absolutely out of line so I'm happy about that at least.

I've defs played in a heap of really fishy/suspicious spots and coupled with running so bad it definitely feels like I'm being cheated on some level haha ****!
Had a couple long conversations with guys crushing in the same club about collusion and we all agreed that its probably happening on some level but the guys that are doing it are that bad that's still +ev.

Something else worth talking about is my standard deviation has shot up from around 100 to 135, mostly from buying in 150-200bb deep and then playing with 2-3 whales.... so I guess the bigger downswings come with the territory.

Mate just linked me this song and said to cheer up about the downswing, somehow makes me feel super melancholy and insanely motivated at the same time haha wtf

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyDKtXefliI

Some real positives I think are worth thinking about are how much room these downswings open up for personal development, no matter how talented you are at Poker it can and will chew you up and spit you out at some point/s or another.

But if you pick yourself up, tell yourself it's OKAY to make mistakes and you tried your best, believe in the process, be humble and PUT IN THE WORK.

Then its only a matter of time before you're/I'am back to Moving up.

Yikes can't believe its been 2 months since my last update, wasn't my intention but I've been really focused internally lately.

Pretty happy with the level of consistency I've pulled off, basically my entire goal for starting this thread was to find the motivation for the grind again.... so the past few days I've been somewhat undecided about whether to keep this thread alive.

I think I will keep posting more updates until the end of the year and then just see what happens/how I feel about it then.

So results for the past few months, nothing amazing but happy things are starting to go back in the right direction.

Dropped back to 100nl for about 10-15k hands, big ol slap in the face!

I've been struggling not to get super hung up on results, I'm like $20k+ usd under ev at reg tables now and it's ****ing hard to deal with sometimes.

Mental game is something I want to work on more, I've definitely got some leaks and its the one area of my game I don't have much vision/support over (not sure how to word that exactly).

But if anyone knows some good content or Mental game coach they can recommend would be appreciated!

Here's results for the past 2 months

mostly 200nl with about 10k hands from 400nl-1k

Played in the most wild game yesterday, probably the most volatile +ev spot lifetime.

Whale ran it up to I think max 1000bb over about 50 hands or so, was open jaming and or 3b/4b pretty much ATC, worst hand was something like open jam 104o for 200bbs.

STD dev was 280bb/100 for the session haha!

yeah ah well gotta feed the fish before you can eat them

Took some shots at 500nl over the weekend, games were buzzing

Had this hella funny experience with a whale, story went something like this

Whale sits down with about 30bbs, immediately starts playing/trying to win every pot, this hand happens

Whale flicks me some emojis to rub salt in the wound, then a few hands later this hand went down, whale uses ENTIRE time bank before calling river WOOF

Then this hand happened a few spots later before the whale literally stops giving me ANY action and dusts off his 350-400bb stack punting into the other regs haha RIP hero.... Whale was playing 95 50 25
