Day 2 started with 102 players, 72 cash. $39k up top and $450 min cash.

With 82 ppl left I open shoved 15bb with AK from mp and the bu had AA. Pretty annoying to go out 10 from the money especially because I had to drive 45 miles each way on icy roads to play for 40 minutes. If I could have atleast just cashed it would have made the drive home much better. Oh well.

I ended up playing over 20 MTTs online when I got home and after 11 hours I was up $10. Pretty funny day. I will try to play tonight and Tuesday night because I cant play Wed-Sat and possibly Sunday.

Hey stuff, tough beat in the 100k at running aces. Wish I could have played that event but the weather was crappy and didn't want to drive though the ice and snow. Ended up playing a weekly mtt at Grand casino mille lacs. The structure is awful but so soft. Any plans to play any events at Canterbury for the series coming up?

Yeah the weather was pretty horrible all weekend. I have played at Mille Lacs several times over the past ~10 years but its been awhile.

I plan to play the $350 bounty, $250 6 max, and the $350 2-day event at Canterbury next week. Hopefully win my way into the $1k through a satellite.

As for BOL, it certainly seems that there is money to be made. I am trying to construct a proper online schedule including Bovoda, BOL, and Global.

Are you planing on playing anything at Canterbury or Running Aces anytime soon?

Update:

Played some live poker and a couple of online sessions over the past week. I am down about $500 from my peak on Bovada but up $1749 on Betonline.

I took down another small live tournament. $77 buy in w/ $10 bounties. There was 44 players and I won it outright for a total of like $840 (7 bounties including mine). I played several others and did not cash.

Bovada bankroll: $1309

Betonline bankroll: $1799

Live bankroll: $1,125

So I am up about $4k since I stared my challenge.

Ill be at RA tomorrow most likely, all that runs where im closest to is 3/6 lhe. Want to play some 2-100

Likely wont play any mtts until I get some more time off work. I just cashed out my BOL roll to fund my live adventures.

Haha no, I did not hit 200k or 100k for that matter, yet. I have been busy with work and life outside of poker over the past few weeks. I did manage to play some poker and have been pretty much break-even. I lost about $400 online yesterday (Sunday) so it was not a good day.

I plan to put in some good volume this week. I am really enjoying Betonline, mostly because of the synced breaks. I need to learn how to use Stack and Tile so I can play multiple sites easier.

As for live poker, I will continue to sprinkle some in when I am feeling up for it. I forced myself to play a live tourniquet last week when I didnt really want to and it was not pleasurable at all. I do not want to put myself in that position again.

Since starting my challenge with $200 in late January I am still hovering around $4k in profit. A couple coolers in several deep runs from being up a lot more. That's tournament poker so as long as I continue to play and study (need to do more of this) I will continue to put myself in good spots.

Been playing mostly at Betonline becuase its been going well. I am up over $5k there. I am also still up about $1.5k on Bovada and up around $500 live (Im taking "large" shots so happy to be up some in live MTTs).

I have continued to do well on Betonline. Nothing too exciting to report on. I intend to continue to play online and take shots in live tournaments.

I hope to get to Vegas and play the Big 50 in June. I need to start looking into making some arrangements.

I would suggest trying out the Gold Coast, right next to the Rio and rooms are pretty cheap. They usually offer some kind of a discount, the Chinese place in the casino has awesome dim sum, and you're walking distance to a dispensary (and a Sonic, good thinking lol)

I also have a room booked for the 1st-5th at the Rio for $0 because I'm CR Diamond. If I end up going (strong chance I won't be able to but going to be a game time decision... I'm a real estate agent so my schedule gets set last minute alot), you're welcome to crash with me for free. I have 3 different reservations, hoping I can make it for 1 or 2 of them.

Hey, yup still going strong on the MTT grind! It can be grueling but the stakes I am playing are still pretty stress free. Im now actually playing over rolled for the schedule Im on, which is fine with me.

As for Vegas, I looked around for rooms last night a bit. Gold Coast is booked 3 out of the 7 nights I'm there for. I may end up just getting a room at one of the extended stay hotels just east of the Rio, for a week. I know they are **** but I will only be using the room to shower and sleep.

Thats pretty nice that you have free nights at the Rio. I hear you about game time decisions, hopefully you'll be able to get out there. I really appreciate the offer to crash in your room. I'll most likely book something in advance but a lot of places have an okay cancellation policy so in case you do make it out, I can maybe take you up on that offer!

Do you have any tips or advice on car rental in Vegas?

Do you grind any cash while playing tourneys? Any cash background at all? I’ve been thinking of transitioning to mtts full time (as a part time player) with a few cash tables as filler.

I do not play any cash online anymore. I played about 100k hands of 25-200 nl and 3/6-30/60 flhe on Bovada from 2012-2016. I always found it boring after like a week or so. I was a small winner in both formats but certainly not the best player, especially in most of the 30/60 games and didnt put in any serious volume.

I played over 5k hours of live poker from 2011-2015 mostly 20-40 flhe and close to 10k hours since I turned 18 (2007) until now, including ~200 tournaments.

I have played a couple 100nl and below sessions over the last year on Bovada, WPN, Global, and BOL. The games are beatable but with the high rake, lack of rakeback and rewards, bots, solid regs, it just seems not worth it and not fun. MTTs are much softer, way less rake, and more fun (to me) so I stick to those. I assume the 200nl+ games get pretty tough and require a lot of studying/volume.

I also strongly believe that live tournaments are the most profitable form of poker (minus the ppl that play private games etc.). If you can beat the $11+ MTTs online, you can beat live $1ks, no joke. The live events sub $2k are so soft its crazy. Obviously you need to not be a complete live poker noob too.

So yeah, I suggest playing MTTs online with the end goal of playing juicy live events throughout the year.

Best free content hands down is the NL Gaming Twitch/Youtube (German crew) and Bencb Youtube (I think he streams every now and then). Lex and most of the top streamers will also help you learn a ton for free.

I live in NYC so I don't drive but I'd suggest getting an Airbnb close and using Uber to get back and fourth. Uber tends to be pretty affordable in Vegas

Good call on the Airbnb. I found a nice place about 5 miles south of the Rio for $300 for the week.

Overall I am up around $8k since starting my challenge. I have lost motivation to play during several sessions over the past few weeks. Been running pretty poorly during this time, down about $600.

My short term goal for now until June 1 is to play 15 full sessions online and play the live $290 $100k GTD at Running Aces next week.
