This hand a few days ago made me the most tilted I have been since I started my 100k challenge. I was pretty pissed for like 30 minutes. I had been getting tortured all day and then that happened.

Anyways, I won about $100 on Wednesday and lost about $135 on Thursday.

I played an early session today (Friday) and bricked everything.

Took down the $22 2k 6 max! Pretty epic 75 min hu match. He had me 4-1 to start. My 25bb to his 100bb (deep tourney, 15 min levels).

He was pretty aggressive so I started limp/jamming the bu and k/c when I defend bb and flop pairs. He was good but he certainly got frustrated as the match went on.

There was not a lot of all in and calls. We played a lot of flops and turns. I am quite happy with the way I played. Clearly I ran good in the sense that I didn't get coolered in some standard all in spot, which enabled me to battle.

Done for the day. May get to play some tomorrow night otherwise I will be grinding Sunday. I may add a few MTTs from Global Poker! **** ACR

Thanks! Ill probably take a few shots on Sunday and add the $55 25k each night soon. I will eliminate a few of the smallest games. There is a couple 55s, 44, and 33s that I will wait to add. I do play Satellites to these most days.

The "high" stakes MTTs on non Sundays are a $82 10k, $109 10k, and an $82 5k. I will continue to play satellites to these and the Sunday majors.

There is a series on Bovada coming up in March that I need to get my bankroll in shape for.

Played a session on Saturday and lost $128 but won a $33 ticket and (2) $44 tickets.

I will be playing the 3 tickets today along with most stuff under $33. I will be leaving out some of the smaller buyins with small GTDs.

Hopefully I can satellite into the $162 100k and/or the $325 75k (I will use one $44 ticket for a $325 satellite.)

Overall stats for the challenge so far:

Well, I just went out 14th in the $33 10k and then 2 minutes later went out 14th in the $22 5k. Pretty draining mid session.

Freerolling my last 8 MTTs, so that's always nice. Still a lot of potential for the day.

Ended up making $70 on Sunday. Close to $300 in buyins so ill take the small win.

On Monday I lost $170. Nothing too serious but I figure I should mention it was my worst day of the challenge on Bovada.

I lost $360 in one live event (lol br management) so that was my overall biggest lose in one day during my challenge.

Anyways, I might not play much this week bc my gf is staying with me. She's a live-in nanny/student so I don't see her during the week very often. The family she lives with is going on vacation and she has to stay home bc of school.

Played a bit yesterday and lost $57.

At work this morning our whole building lost power. Generators kicked in but our internet was screwed up so I got to leave. I decided to go play a little $50 live daily tourney for the hell of it. I ended up getting 9th for $90 haha.

The play is atrocious and it was $900 to first so I was a little disappointed. I think there was 85 entrants. High rake and bad structure but I would be willing to bet even these live daily's are beatable.

It would be torture to play these everyday but some sort of volume/profit prop bet might be fun. It would involve being at the casino by 10am every morning so its not viable at the moment. Maybe once I get to $100k ill bet someone like 10k that I can beat these for 100% roi over a set amount of games.

Anyways, it was fun to play a little live. There is a live $290 (6) day 1's 100k Gtd next week which I plan to play! Its a really good value tournament they do every couple months. Started following you from the beginning. I have a new inspiration to apply myself and play well. For years been stuck in the wheel of just splashing around for rec-fun and remembering the good old days when a person could actually make some decent cash online.

After careful hand analysis across many limits I have landed on PLO50 & PLO100 as my go to games (had a couple stabs at PLO200 thinking maybe that is where I need to be at to maximize - jury is still out)

I used to just play PLO10 and PLO25 or NL10 25 - depositing a hundred bucks or so every week or two. Just splashing around for rec fun and doing a lot of donkey stuff.

I also landed on Ignition. I used to only play WPN (ACR & True skins). Through analysis Ignition games are just better. I also used to hate the Ignition Cash Game Lobby but now love it.
I also Love that many Ignition Tournaments are Freeze-Outs. I loathe those 3-5 hour late entry tournaments at WPN.

I ran up my $130 deposit to $800 in less then 1000 cash hands. Feeling great about my online game and my splashy it's rigged/bots/collusion/etc so-who-cares-just-for-fun rec attitude has changed!

That's awesome to hear! I totally understand about not being motivated and just splashing around. The games certainly are harder these days but they are still beatable.

I dont know much about PLO or the ring games on Ignition but I do know there are people grinding them and winning. The absence of rakeback scares off nit regs so even the regs are quite aggressive. I would say prepare for variance and dont worry about bots/collusion for the most part. I am sure it is happening but if you have played a lot of poker, you should be able to tell some is fishy, quite quickly.

You can also download hands and see everyone's hole cards, even the players that simply fold preflop. I assume it is especially important while playing cash to look through your sessions the following day.

Well I had an interesting last several days that involved a lot of live poker. As I mentioned a few days ago, on Wed I played a $50 tournament and got 9th for $90.

On Thursday I played a live $32 tournament and got 11th for $44.

On Friday I played a live $52 tournament and bricked.

Then yesterday (Saturday) I woke up craving more! I said "**** it" and went and played a $340 tournamnet at my local cardroom. There was 112 entrants. 12 spots paid with $10k up top! The play was pretty awful overall. A few decent live players. A ton of fun players.

I ran up a 100bb stack with 30 left. I then lost QQ to KK and AA to 64s. Was down to 10bb with 15 left. Got in KQs vs 66 and won. Blinds went up and I folded for 2 rounds. With 11bb, bu opens and I defend A6os hu. Flop 226, I check, he puts me allin with AK and I hold!

We get to 13 left shortly and agree to pay $20 to the bubble (so $240). Bubble bursts pretty quick. I get to open shove my ~15bb stack a few times before reaching the FT with 20bb as the short stack. Some bad reg goes crazy with AQos and loses to KK aipf to go out 10th.

I fold for a round and a half. Then Utg + 1 opens and I re-shove next in with AK. Folds to bb who 4-bet shoves and utg folds. Of course bb has KK and I lose. Cash for $880. So close to a big score...

As I am cashing out, I notice there there is late reg for the nightly $100. I again say "**** it" and hope in. There was only 33 players after registration closed. Top 5 get paid. Needless to say, I go on to win it outright for $977! Pretty good day!

I am playing online today. Bricking everything so far but I did qualify for the $162 108k Gtd.

I will update later with any deep runs. I will also do an update of my totals for the challenge from February and overall totals.

Nice live scores! I’ve often thought about playing small live events but always go against it, maybe I should take some more shots.

Thanks! Live poker is certainly very soft. The rake is super high, especially at the small stakes but I think its beatable for a decent ROI. I have played almost 10k hours of live poker so I am extremely comfortable at the table and I am able to adjust on the fly quite well, which is probably why I feel its very beatable.

Played some live and online this week. It did not go well Sunday-Wednesday. I lost each day on Bovada and am down about $450 from my peak. I also played 2 live tourneys ($77 and $32), bricking them both.

Tonight, I was literally about to go to bed, reading 2p2 on my laptop. I was in Internet Poker, randomly opened the Chico Network thread and then decided to load on up the Betonline client to take a peak. I have an account there that I made a small deposit on a year or two ago. Haven't played since busting.

I see there is an $11 10k Gtd rebuy with 5 min left in registration. I say "**** it" and deposit $50 and hop in!

With the addon I got 25bb as did the whole table bc we were all late regs. Within 2 hours we make the money. Another 3 hours and I make the FT. Play another 1.5 hours and end up going out in 3rd for $951!

Pretty sick random login/deposit/late reg. I guess I am playing Betonline now.
