Step 1: Deposit $200 onto your favorite poker site, mine is Bovada!

Step 2: Click the tournament tab

Step 3: Play everything under $10

Step 4: Post daily results here along with HHs

Step 5: Prepare to redeposit...

Because you'd have to be crazy to think you're going to turn $200 into $100k playing poker.

Off to a decent start...I got to 7 bet shove AA pre for 10k chips each at 10/20 blinds. I didnt win becuase my opponent had 66.

I then blew AA to 87s after 3 bet shoving 12bb from the BU over his HJ open.

And as I am typing this I lose KK to A3os after he cold 4 bet shoved 12bb pre ante from the CU over my MP 3 bet.

Its fair to estimate that the games may be of high quality.

I ended up playing 13 MTTs and 2 3-Table Sit & Go's.

Total buyins: $104.50 / 15 = $7 abi

Total cashes: 4 for $65.54

Total Profit: -$38.96

Bankroll: $161.04

Not a good start but could be worse. I played well and just ran pretty awful in allins. No FTs or deep runs.

The games at these limits are quite soft so I should be at $100k in no time.

In all seriousness, I really do intend to make 100k in poker an document it here. Whether it takes 1 year and a single $200 deposit or if it takes multiple years and dozens of deposits, I am going to do it.

I have made over $100k from poker in my poker "career". Most of it was in 2011-2014 while I was playing fulltime, mostly live 20/40 FLHE and live/online MTTs (my live MTT results are pretty bad, low volume, play/runbad in larger events).

The last couple years I have made less than 10k/year from poker. I have been working full-time, so poker has just been a hobby. I haven't worked on my game a whole ton, so that is something I will make an effort to start doing.

I plan to focus on MTTs and SnG's for the time being. I believe there is a decent amount to be won in tournament poker both online and live (mainly live).

If anyone has suggestions on a good training site to join, I would appreciate your thoughts.

My plan for the start of my mission to $100k is to play MTTs and S&G's on Bovada. I will be playing with a fairly aggro bankroll management because I am able to reload, although I am not going to play anything above $11 until I get close to $1k. Once I get to maybe $5k, I will get on a few other sites. There is also some live events in the next few months that I would like to play.

I rather not reload because that'd be hilarious if I some how ran up $200 into $100k so I wont tilt/punt ever. I will always finish my session strong even if I'm down to 1 table where 1st place doesn't get me unstuck for the day.

I am also making it part of my goal to post more in other threads. Mostly NL and MTT threads. I want to get involved in talking about HHs, both mine and others.

This got long, I am sitting at work, bored. I will be on the grind in a few hours. If anyone plays the micro stakes MTTs or SnG's on Bovada/Ignition, I would love to hear your thoughts on the games. Feel free to post here or PM me.

Bovada/Ignition just makes me mostly sad these days - hard to stay motivated & grind a decent session when...well you know.

I started this thread to motivate myself and stay motivated to play a lot of poker this year and if that helps others get motivated, that's great!

$100k from poker is still super doable these days. Of course starting with $200 makes things a lot harder but it will also make things more interesting.

As for the state of Bovada and online poker in general, I agree its quite sad. Live poker certainly is where its at these days. I plan to start playing some live games along with other sites once I spin this $200 over $5kish.

I also played a $5.50 and $11 3-Table SnG. They seem soft so Ill either play those or single table SnG's or both for more volume.

I can play 12 MTTs at once just fine but I play the best at 4-6 games. I will have to experiment with whats better at the micros: volume or quality?

When playing a bunch of single table SnG's it gets tricky when all of a sudden you're short handed/hu and you have 10 MTTs on the side. I know you can only play 4 SnG's at once on Bovada so maybe its not a huge issue.

4 games left, stuck $32, ran pretty awful until this point. The stress of running like complete ass is so minimal when you're only down $32 and you're most likely going to get even by sessions end.

When I played 20/40 if I ran like this I would probably be down $4k.

I am having fun. I cant wait to ship one of these. There is some sick people on this site that are trying their hardest to stop me, but I like it

Couldn't get unstuck for the day. End up losing $14.58. Considering I won like 4 total allins, it's not bad at all. I need to make sure to register at the start of each tournament to begin accumulating chips asap.

Total cashes: 5 for $100.92

I lost $17 and ran awful again. I need to work on winning allins. Good news is the games are super good and the guarantees are all crushing.

Playing some today. Instantly started losing preflop allins. Games certainly still good.

Going to do some study/review Sunday morning before playing.

I am also looking into joining a training site. Any recommendations would be great. Raise Your Edge looks good. Also the Upswing course from Nick Petrangelo but they are expensive.

Down about $75 from $200. Not sweating it all. Will continue to put volume in and try to fade the reload.

Sounds like a fun challenge and should be able to get in a lot of volume with the $/entry cap you set with basically unlimited $200 re-buys haha. Doubtful you get to $200k just doing tournaments this way but if you are allowed to raise the entry fee cap or satellite into huge events then it is possible (still not probable). From your history, I like your chances of making some money though

When you say work on winning all ins are you referring to pick spots to shove post flop or are you talking winning all ins preflop?

Yeah I am playing $11 MTTs with under $200 so its likely I will have to reload a couple times. But after playing these games on Bovada I am quite confident I will run up $200, eventually.

I will start adding larger events when I get around $1k.

At $5k I will add more sites although maybe sooner becuase ACR has some good events coming up.

I also plan to play some live stuff. There is a $350 by me in several weeks I hope to play. Its a 2 day event so it depends on my schedule.

Anyways, I hope this lofty goal keeps me motivated to play.

I am in the packaging industry. We do high volume commercial packaging for big companies (no food). I am in charge of Business Development, so a lot of sales and marketing type stuff.

We build large machines for the jobs we do so I am thinking about getting into the electrical/engineering fields and also 3D design/drafting with CAD programs like SolidWorks.

Down to one game and stuck $30. Running laughable bad once I get in the money but once it changes I am going to crush.

I think there is a decent amount of free content online to learn from. I have been watching the replays of No Limit Gaming (Fedor's crew) on Twitch and they're great.

Starting with only $200 is making things tough but I am confident I will start making money.

Yeah, grinding cash makes it much easier to build, at least in the beginning when things are so fragile. I also plan to pull off $1000 every time I get to $1200-$1500 and slowly increase how much money I leave behind when I cashout. I'm gonna have to keep doing it this way for a while, at least, so I better get used to it.
