I play on 8 sites between 200NL-1KNL. My volume is decent, It just depends on how much I want to get in for the day..

Hi thank you all for the input actually it isn't really fear related at all, I did level my self a lot yesterday and it just all imploded in my head at one time that I couldn't even focus on poker. I wish I could go with the go with the flow thing, but I don't know I never really been like that I guess I just always think about what route I want to take way too in advance. Like for example I'm still going to be working with Gordon for a while longer but I was already thinking about leaving afterwards and playing part time n doing other things. Rather I agree with all of you guys that I should just play for some time, until I'm too burnt out to continue playing at this rate. I've realized I lost my love for playing poker (I have for quite some time now) and am just doing it, which is why I just thought about coaching because when I do coach I enjoy it thoroughly even though I make less from it. I guess when that time comes where its too hard for me to have that motive to continue going thats when I will stop playing full time until then I'll just keep movin'. Who knows, maybe I will just end up needing a break for me to refuel that fire for poker (it usually does happen whenever I take a couple of days off). I have a party coming up in california in about 6 weeks.. so that will be my next decently long break roughly 3-5 days (maybe a bit more if I feel like it).

I'm done for the day I played mediocre today. I wasn't entirely focused, maybe its time for an extra day off. I don't know on Mondays I usually coach 1-3 hours as well.. so that may be overloading me (I don't know I really enjoy coaching so..), and other times I will be working on my video series so its not really a day off its more like a lazy half day off but maybe its because its not entirely a break and I haven't really had one where I did "nothing" for a while now and maybe thats why I am out of it. I will see how I feel Tuesday, I might end up taking Tuesday off.

First time taking a day off for a while and doing nothing; ended up playing a session and felt somewhat ok playing poker again in a long time. I think thats what I really needed to just shut my brain down from any poker I had some conversations about poker.. but it was very minimal. I think will do this more often. Maybe twice a month extra day off, since Mondays are kind of Half days. IF its not needed then I won't, if I don't feel like it i'll just take the day off. Had a decent session just now about to head out soon for some lunch and relaxation

I ended up trying 6 max today.. There will be adjustments and ranges that I will have to switch up after trying it out for today.. I am unsure of what I want to do I will have to think it over

I was dabbling and deciding what I wanted to do for the rest of the month whether to play HU while I have no action or entirely switch to 6 max.. in the end its all about which one is more profitable. I could see 6 max being more profitable in the long run.. just that my six-max game is not that good lol

I've also decided that I'm reducing the amount of hours i'm playing a week.. and really play on how I feel, if my volume ever becomes a problem/borderline pathethic then I will fix that as well (as where previously I was aiming for 48 hours a week).

I'm entirely content with where I'm at and there's a lot of things I want to learn as well outside of poker.

Month not looking so sharp as well; I do not know what happened to my blue line it just tanked the **** down lol It may be because I'm still picking very terrible spots to overbet with. Need to think it over and fix it on all spots for now I'm going to remove it from my flop and turn game for the most part (will work on that later today and review my hands). To be honest I really may not be doing much wrong, rather its variance or a 1-3 bb error that can be owning me long term. I'm going to try to figure it out, and I may also hire another HU coach for like 2 hours (NOT because Gordon is bad at all), morebecause I also have different goals now (I want to be one of the best in the games up to 5KNL, that'll probably be my goal I Think i'm more then likely going to commit at least one more year in poker, so why not do it big) and I want to learn another perspectives from another good player.. would need to look around. If it starts hurting the hourly along the way, then I'm probably not going to really try to be the best, really my goal is to be one of the best, but hourly over anything really. I still have goals to hopefully try to maintain 12k+ months.


But for now.. Back to learning spanish lol started my first hour on it yesterday.

what site are you using to learn spanish? im about to head to south america and i know about 3 spanish words.

are you on party? im primarily 6max player with some hu cash background, still like playing hu if you want a game, preferably at 5/10

Hey man great thread and good job on your growth as a player and person. Im just a little confused as to why youve invested a year and a half of hard work to arrive at this level of profitable heads up play and now youre looking to move on to other things so quickly. Shouldnt you be maximizing your profits by playing HU as much as possible, especially given your young age amd the unknowable future of poker. I mean I know you said youre losing the love for the game so ofc that is another thing and I suppose it depends on your motives for playing professionally in the first place. I just know that if I was capable of playing at your level I would be playing as much as possible to make as much as possible before I moved on to other things in my life.

If you could expand on this itd be a great help to my understanding

Yeah.. it has been a year and a half now, I'm looking to stay at HU for atleast 1 more year. At the time I was just completely mind****ed over the whole situation and what I wanted to do in the future, I didn't want to continue playing poker because I had no more goals to chase.. No goals= no more motive or love for the game = want to do something else. Now I do have a goal atm, its to establish myself on every stake up to 5KNL and then I will see what I want to do afterwards. So If I still have another goal after that then I will continue, if not I will find something else to do. The thing is poker was always just a starting point for the ultimate greater purpose of something I want to achieve, what that thing is exactly I don't know yet, but when that time comes I think thats when I will stop playing full time for now I will just stick to what I can do best.

Day one of trying to be the best;

I only played regs today, 2 tabling (I was playing 3 with one, but really it was not worth it because still I'm really working and experimenting on a lot of new spots and taking lines I usually don't take). I don't think I played "Bad" in terms of me tilting or being frustrated. More I didn't play the best and I know there is a lot of room for improvement and I made a lot of errors along the way as well. I've been studying a whole lot and trying to find the best possible line in this specific spot against this specific opponent. I've also been creating a lot of random hypothethical situations with random board textures and think why is this a good one to triple barrel bluff, or why its not. Or why it can be a good triple barrel bluff with bigger sizings, or a better triple barrel bluff with smaller sizings.

Done for today, I didn't play so much ~6 hours total. I still have a lot of work to do I've also noticed I have some leaks that I never picked up on before (although I've picked some I know I'm too spewy in some as well..) which is why my redline is insane lol (its not necessarily a good thing and I need to find which spots where I'm spewing too much and which spots its not spew).. There is a long way to go .. gonna go take another break and then study and review hands and call it a day.

Damn ****ty day was playing regs at 600NL and got owned. I don't know if I played very bad.. or it may just be variance, either way I'm going to step down from the games for the moment and then go back to it whenever I do better.

Month is looking extremely ****ty so I will go back to playing fishes// playing regs at the lower stakes. Need to rinse repeat all day until I finally make that break through I'm sure i'm misapplying a ton of concepts as well. Its probably what you call.. the bad overaggressive "Regs", I am just making too much errors i'm sure of it in a ton of spots.


Ofc, I can be very happy making 15-20K every month by sticking to the normal routes I been taking, I just think theres more to be made and more for me to prove (I actually get excited again as I continually try to improve and play good players) and by playing everyone at the higher stakes I plan to eventually reduce the amount of fishes because I expect to have an edge on the majority eventually.. but for now its not the time for it and its time to rebuild the month

I'm still always up for a match. If you want we can do it at lower stakes, like 1/2 if you just want to practise vs regs.

Today I ran hot got JJ-AA like 15 times against the same regular, was pretty sweet lol! Finally a good day its been a while. I played everyone at 200NL, and pretty much just kept sitting on people whenever I didn't have action it turned out fairly well I'm going to do this for the rest of this month. Probably next month if it goes better in the beginning I will start playing everyone again, As always I'll see and adjust accordingly.
