I am enjoying your quest, thanks for posting.
Your goal, mentioned many times, is to take time when betting.
What are the specifics?
Is it only hands that you intend to play or every hand? For example, if I have 52o in the small blind and there is action before me, I check the prefold check box. I don't intend to play it, so why make others wait?
Is it to prevent timing tells on your part?
How long do you wait? Is it a set time or do you vary it (regardless of how long it takes to make a decision). It only takes me a few seconds to make a decision (usually), especially if I am planning the hand on future streets. I occasionally will pause at a bet from an opponent when I have the nuts to make it look like I'm puzzling over what he has (which I sort of need to do in order to figure out how to extract value - is he bluffing, then call or does he have something, then raise a little or a lot)
Does hand rate figure into it? For example, say you take 10 seconds for every decision (regardless of play intention) at a 6max. That means a maximum (not counting other players time) you can play 360 hands an hour (6 hands/minute for 60 minutes). Drop it to 5 seconds, you get 720/hr.
