You're probably wondering if this is yet ANOTHER 0 to hero, nl2 to nl1000, 0$ to $1 million, fish to pro blog. You've read 'em all, seen 'em (almost) all fail and think this is just another one.

Well this is NOT the case.

I'm MRNDY (that's Mr. Andy), 20y/o Marketing student from Romania, looking to play some poker.
Can't remember how I started, probably was around 14 and the friends who introduced me to sport bets (huge mistake..) called me to a home game. Seen it, played it, loved it. Then went to gamble for like 6 years. Unlike some lucky guys who won from the beginning, I actually kept losing at both bets and poker (never my fault I SWEAR).

I don't know how much I lost and frankly I don't even care. Having said that, I decided to change my life in 2018 (and in every 2018 before that). I quit playing League Of Legends (was playing even 18h/day sometimes), quit betting (actually I bet $130 on Real Madrid vs Villareal) and I made a plan to beat the living hell out of these microstakes.

2018 Poker Plan

EDIT I made some mistakes, 12tables plays more than 1kh/hour and I used that measure in the whole plan. Guess that means I can take an extra day or two off a month.
Expectations: wr 5bb/100h, Profit +$75, Total NL2=$75, 75kh
Reality: wr 4.02 bb/100h, Profit +$61.5, 76.506h, 68.35h/month
I moved at NL5 at $250, even if I didn't made +$75 at NL2

I could go on but you get the idea. I want to become pro and I think that's the first step. I used w34z3l's Walkthrough to fix some of my huge leaks, but I'm not playing so good yet. I will try and make a Poker Learning Plan for 2018, since my experience (not much since I pretty much lost, but for sure I'm not a new player) is not enough to win.

Also it's my first post/blog/challenge/activity in a forum, so if you have any suggestions, I'll be grateful. I'm doing this because I can't seem to find "poker buddies" and I do want to surround myself with people that can mentor me or at least have the same goal and we can help each other work towards that goal.

Week #4 NL5 is cray cray



Good week I guess, I moved to NL5 before the schedule, tho today I lost $30 smth, so probably not such a good week. I still have to adjust to NL5. Also I need to make a learning plan, tho I have 2 exams at my university next week, don't really know how much time I'll make but we ll see.

Week #5 NL 5 killed me



Good week for me me, bad week for poker me. I somehow passed all my exams! (quite a miracle) and I actually got an internship with an online marketing company so that's good for me me.

Poker me tho just got his ass kicked by NL5. At least I got some lessons from that:


Still haven't made any kind of studying schedule and it will only become harder since I start my internship job tomorrow and it's full time but I'll try to stick to the plan!

Results wise it's baaaaad. Forced to move back to NL2 after getting my ass kicked and I switched to 4 ZOOM tables. The good thing is that I'm starting to win again. I'm also playing the Sunday Storm using StarCoins so yeah, tomorrow morning I'll have +$100k .

I also started playing 4 normal tables on Unibet along with my 4 zooms at Stars. Did a $50 deposit to play NL2, but found out they only have NL4. Break even after 3 days, but I feel it's way easier than Stars. We shall see.

I'll take another shot at NL5 when I reach $200. Current BR=$150.

Let's get that $100k! (since I'm going in Barcelona next week with my gf I could use some $$$)

I suggest you concentrate on quality poker and not volume. Maybe single table zoom or play regular tables.

I agree the solid-fab here, you don't really learn much from just pointless clicking in micro stakes and if your ultimate goal is to be a professional, you don't want to be running around in circles for too long.

Hey guys! Thanks for the advice! Yea I figured out it’s better to focus on less tables than to have high volume with poor play, thats why I already cut it from 15 regular tables to 4 zoom. I’ll see how it goes this week and I’ll adapt

Didn’t win the 100k but I got 9$ from a 4.4$ and I’m still playing in a 1.1 jumbo shrimp (around 350 left, we’re itm and got 10bb) . I bought in using star coins to these tournaments so it’s some more help to my injured BR.

I’ll come back here before the weekly update to post my (much NEEDED) Studying Plan.

No update this week or the next one. I started my job on Monday and I didn’t adjust my poker schedule yet, and next week I’ll be traveling in Barcelonaaaa I’ll write an update when I come back
