New year lies ahead of me, and I do not know where the tracks lead me. I'm at a crossroad in my life where I have to figure what I am going to do for income by the end of this summer. If I can't straighten my game by then, I'll certainly have to look for a nine to five.
About myself, I have been playing poker off and on since 2005. I was the quintessential tournament donk. Binking a couple nice scores, and losing at 50NL consistently, while my buddy was winning at mid stakes. In August I started playing on an inactive account I had left a 25NL BR on. Started losing again, and decided to pick up a stake for the micros. The stake has been going breakeven with marginal profits. After a small profit chop, I started losing again. The trend being winning at 10NL and 25NL at 10bb+, and then losing at 50NL over 60k~ hands.
I also play on my reactivated account on my own dime. I have been doing well recently. Also I bet my bankroll on a boxing match. I'm an avid boxing fan of both new and old fights. I knew Ortiz vs Jennings was a extreme mismatch, so I went with my gut and placed my first sports bet. I didn't know what all the numbers meant, but in typical fashion, I clicked buttons. So now with a few winning sessions strung together, I'm close to taking my 35 BI shot @ 50NL.
My current staked account.
My personal account. (25NL Fail Mar-May, Fail Aug, Revamp Sep. 10NL+)
My goal is to make it to small stakes and crush 50NL and become a winner at 100NL by the end of this summer. I have been putting in 20 hrs a week, with half of the time playing 30-35 hrs. I've been experimenting with some GTO stuff, and am very close to buying CREV, and maybe a GTO solver when I can afford it.
Here's to becoming a GTO machine.
Happy New Year's guys,
