Played some more and lost like 20$. Spewtard spotted!

I really have a hard time quitting when I need to.
Balance is something I think a lot of poker players struggle with and I'm definitely an example of this. As with playing cash games, balance is necessary in all aspects of life.

What is it that you do for a living? You seem like an intelligent guy, so it seems weird that you'd struggle to such an extent with your job that you'd get negative performance reviews or even fired.

Hope things take a turn for the better, glgl.

Thanks for the kind words . I'm a mortgage loan credit analyst. I don't know why I'm struggling so bad.
I notice the same pattern in every job. I'm motivated at the start and after only 1 month I start disliking the job more and more and become depressed.

You seem to be crushing it pretty hard. Any chance you'd want to discuss some hands ?

Today was a rollercoaster. I was feeling hungry for a good portion of my session and needless to say I played pretty damn bad. Afterwards I switched to 4 tables of zoom and I guess it went a bit better. Overall the quality of my game today was sub par. At least I got in some good volume (for my standards).

Day: -0,17$
Profit since start of the challenge: -68,07$

Going strong at -6bb/100 after 11k hands.

Any suggestions on how to mark hands? I mark so many I couldn't even go over 25% of them haha.

Played 2 sessions and it went pretty awesome. I was up 4 buyins.
Since noon I have been feeling extremely woozy and tired. I decided to put in another session and obv lost it all.

Didn't play great, didn't run great.

Day: -1,80$
Profit since start of the challenge: -69,87$

WHO called me a spewtard? Oh right, I did.

The whole work situation has me feeling weak both mentally and physically and it has consequences on my game as well. I think I'm on lifetilt.

Seriously considering starting at 2z or 5z, maybe I have more chance of beating those stakes.

Feeling extremely stressed out and humiliated work-wise. I need to continue working and pretend nothing is going on. Still debating if I should try and get another job quickly before I **** up my CV by getting fired. Really don't want to end up in a job #4 that I hate as well though .

Catching some heat at 2NL. Let's gain some confidence in my (non existant) cash game skills

Today I played tired but still did pretty good. Looks like I MAY just have the capabilities to beat at least 2nl . It seems stupid but it's somewhat comforting to me.

I'll start posting some more hands when I get to 5z or 10z.

First off, best wishes on your endeavor. Secondly, advice-take it for what it's worth. The mistakes I see you making in game lead me to believe it would be much more beneficial if you spent more time studying than playing. Also, I'm not sure what you're ultimate goal is as far as poker in general, but the mindset of simply making less mistakes than your opponent preflop and auto piloting is extremely flawed imo.
Anyway, good luck. I'm sure whatever you decide job wise will be for the best.

Thank you sir! My goal is to become good at the game and make it at least part of my income.

Have you spectated my play or are you basing your advice on my comments in my thread? Would love to hear more for sure!

Don't take the part about autopiloting and making less mistakes than my opponent TOO serious. I like to kid around sometimes

Put in a good hustle so far today. I went on a pretty big downer and managed to come back up top. Semitilted a few times, took some breaks and returned more relaxed in my game. I'm glad with how I played and how well I listened to my mental game.

May or may not hit up the casino later.

Thanks for the kind words .

Health wise I'm not doing amazing. The stress of doubting whether to choose between another job (is there a job I would not hate out there?) or no job is building up hard (staying doesn't seem like an option). Been having random(?) nosebleeds for over a week too .

5 nl is NOT going well so far .

I have not watched you play online. Just from hands you've posted. Although the goals you mentioned are a step in the right direction, it may be better to make goals that are more easily definable. Maybe beating x limit over y amount of hands per month. Or moving to a certain stake by certain time period. Making your goals like that will give you a clearer understanding of where you are and what you want to accomplish. I do not suggest monetary goals, because with variance it can have a negative effect on your game.

H1 should just call turn and play rivers, pre facing 3x at these stakes is probably a fold

H2 flop is a fold imo, as played turn is a bad card to barrel as we don't pick up equity, plus generally not a card you are going to get folds on. River I guess is ok, sizing should be a jam tho

H3 prob x back more than betting flop but cbet is whatever, turn facing donkbet is a fold imo, and river definitely a b/f. You should also be sizing river exploitable smaller

        GL, subbed!

Thanks for the suggestions. I think goals are definitely very important to have in whatever one wants to become good at.

Well. Uhm. I got fired today and today was my last day there.

Feel very relieved because just being there was turning me more insane day by day. It's not all positive ofcourse since I have to think hard now if I'll apply for other jobs fast or not. Debating whether I should just grind MTT's really hard now.

Tonight I decided to reg a bunch of MTT's. Even reached a FT and busted out on a flip in 5th place. Can't complain because I ran pretty good overall and ended up with +/- 400$ profit. Still going really bad in 5nl where I'm down 10+ buyin since the start of the challenge.

        Peace.

I've been playing quite a bit of poker. Put in a few lengthy MTT sessions, a few short cashgame sessions and I hit the casino tonight. The MTTs are going meh (happy with my play though), cash is going quite bad (lifetilt ) and I just booked my biggest win in the casino so far tonight : +500$

Been considering playing some regular cash game tables. I do like having the feeling of a certain dynamic on the table. We'll see what happens.

I'd say that I'll take the day off poker tomorrow, but I'm not to be trusted in that regard .

Thanks for the motivational words my friend. I'm playing zoom because it:
        1. might be better () to learn the more ABC style of play instead of my LAGtard spewy style
        2. I think finding good tables at higher stakes might be kind of a pain in the ass
        3. I'm lazy and loading up 4 tables of zoom is oh so easy

        -----------------------------------

Still have some health issues (I always have SOMETHING). After playing poker I find it very very hard to fall asleep. Last two nights I just tossed and turned in bed and 'dreamt' about poker hands. Also worrying about wtf I'll do careerwise (except for binking the SM and just playing poker).

Had a really ****ty MTT session on Tuesday and dropped quite a bit. **** happens.

Yesterday I went to the casino again. Lost 30$ but I'm quite happy with how I played!
