Sunday Grind



Happy to finish the day in the black. I feel like on sundays all the ******s play even poorer than on the other week days. Sadly I wasn't blessed with the right cards today, so I couldn't torment them as usual. Also I feel like at night from let's say 10 pm mesz to 4 am the games are best. Gotta work that night shift in Bangkok. I figured from around 10 pm to 10 am local time would be the best. Living in Bangkok in full vampire mode seems GTO for grinding.

I'm really confident with my game at the moment, which makes grinding way more enjoyable. I don't know exactly what pushed my game lately. Somehow it became so natural and intuitive. It's kind of an autopilot, but not in that bad sense but more in a "being in the zone" sense. Everything else gets blacked out and I have that tunnel vision right at my screen. I don't even listen to music or something else while grinding. Just sitting there for hours and hours in silence. It's actually really peaceful that way.

What got me tilted a little bit was how the session ended. Already hit the "Sit out next big blind" option on all tables when this one guy sucked out big time on me in a 4bet pot. How is it possible, that regular tables are even softer? Like really? What I see with the Zoom players on a daily is so bad, there is literally no way people could play worse.

plo25z is honestly absurdly soft since the rb removal, I often find myself at the table with 4-5 fish. Still, not that easy to beat with gigantic rake.

Not a lot of grinding going on yesterday and today. Played 1k hands yesterday and lost 15 bucks. Went to the nearest thai embassy then and got my multiple-entry tourist visa. Bought a new backpack afterwards. Some more organizing stuff to get everything ready, because I will already leave on friday to my sisters house, from where we will drive to the airport on saturday. So today and tomorrow I will meet some more friends to say goodbye and just get everything ready. Today 100% no more grinding, tomorrow maybe a bit. I'm ***** pumped, three more days in germany until the journey finally and officially starts.

So I'm in a hotel in the Sathon district right now. Tomorrow I will go around and hopefully find a nice apartment to stay in for the next months. Arrived at 5 in the morning today, got my room at around 8 am and after that I slept until 5 pm. Just got a brutal hour of thai massage, because I was stiff as ****, got a nice meal and some large changs also. The aircondition in my room just crashed, so I got upgraded to the deluxe room, which is not too bad. It's raining outside, so I won't do anything the rest of the evening/night.

Haven't played a hand for three days. I think that needs to be changed.

Well, not the best start for my grind here, but whateva. Pretty happy with my game tho, played the session pretty much 100% tilt-free. That's just how a session graph looks like when you're constantly running into top ranges, people flop gin on you in 4bet pots and you're winning jack ****e in showdowns. W$WSF of 46, so I'm active out there, getting after pots. Would like to chase losses now of course, but that would take a while and it's already 4 am here. So, better luck next time.

If you need mobile internet, I would choose ais. If u like to be anonym, then go to a smaller shop and say u have forget your papers in the hotel, then usualy they just write down their own (or fantasy) datas (the law says, they have to check your id-card and take the datas form there and then u are not anomym, but many shop-sellers take this very easy...).

Then buy the cheapest ais tariff and if u have your number, then u can go later to ais-website and change the tariff there (the prices are much better as the classic tourist-internet-tarif and u have a bigger selection, before change, just go to an ais-automat (or to an ais-shop) and load there some prepaid money in your phone-number-account). For example for poker and normal internet stuff the "MaoMao"-tarif (speed 512Kbps, no data limit, 89 baht/week) is very good. And if you need more speed for example for hd-streaming, then u can buy top-packages (5 gb for 10 days, with maxspeed (LTE) costs 175 baht or 5gb for 5 days costs 125 baht)).

Have an apartment for one month now. Wasn't sure if I would find a nicer one in the next weeks, so booked just one month for the start and from then on we'll see. The heat and also the jetlag still affects my body I think.

Was in a taxi today and there was one thai guy with me in the back, he was already in the car before me. The driver was in a chatty mood with good english for a thai taxi-driver. While we're riding to the apartment building, he then asked me if I want drugs. First just weed, after I declined he offered blow, exctasy, speed and so on. I declined everything instantly. Is that common? I feel like this guy and the guy in the back were undercover cops trying to catch naive farangs, who just go "yeah brah, gimme them drugs".

Looking forward to improvement of the hooker to poker ratio itt.

I don't really like the apartment, that I'm in now. It's not bad, but it's just super standart and ugly. Bottom floor, no balcony. The cheapest room available in the building. Came out of the bedroom into the kitchen room today and there was a cockroach sprinting right under the fridge as I turned on the light. I want something more fancy. This place has a nice 1 bedroom apartment with big nice balcony, nice looking furniture and so on, but it's 28.000 baht.

So I'm gonna be grinding like a mad man until the end of september. Literally doing nothing else but grinding, sleeping and eating. I hope, that I'm gonna be able to climb up the stakes to PLO50 or even PLO100 until then, so that I could take 100-200 euro per month out of the poker bankroll to afford the other room. Or a similar room like this in another building. I really need a more fancy one. If you could see how I'm grinding right now, on the kitchen table with this super uncomfortable chair you would know what I mean. Not gonna moan about this, like I said before this is the Navy Seal Poker program, it's supposed to be rough.

So I played roughly 14k hands since I arrived here. Bangkok welcomed me with a nice 24 stack downswing. How dare these clowns to challenge my lion heart. Again, heads will roll.

So things are going in the right direction again. Hopefully. Like I said, grind, grind, grind over the next four weeks. I'm very positive, that I can climb up one or two levels until then when I put in like 200k hands or so. That 24 stack downer right at the beginning was not pleasent, but man, I'm in the mood to go to work now. The swings just don't bother me to the slightest anymore. Which is so nice, because not so long ago I was a raging tilt-spew-monkey. Something inside me changed somehow.

Really don't like to leave the hookers and tinder hoes waiting, but I'ma set my priorities like this right now.

Not sure how you ended up in a taxi with another passenger. Don't do that.
Also it's very out of the ordinary for a taxi to offer drugs. If Cambodia, totally normal and probably not much risk, just a bad product and a bad price.
Thai taxis, not normal and ya, don't accept or even show interest.
If you are looking for illegal substances, get a friend who has been here for awhile to hook you up. Don't go looking for it as a fresh off the boat farang.
