It feels really good to get off to a good start for the year. My local casino is pretty small and struggles to get multiple tables and the action is pretty poor normally. However tonight was the anniversary of the room opening and they're giving away £500 p/h for the high hand which meant that there was up to 16 tables going at one point which is unheard of. At last years anniversary I lost £1300 so it feels really good to book a substantial win this time round.

I'm not sure how much I want to talk about my personal life here but I'll say this. The breakup I mentioned in the op was within the last few days and properly confirmed last night. I was absolutely head over heels in love and it came out of nowhere so has really hit me hard. Normally I'm really talkative and friendly at the table and I feel I'm pretty good for the game. However, tonight I really struggled with this at first and even put my headphones on to watch a short YT video. As soon as it finished though I made a conscious effort to put them away, engage the people around me and I started having a much, much more enjoyable time and it really helped to take my mind off of the breakup. It also helped generate some more action in what was otherwise a quiet game.

I might post a HH I think I misplayed tomorrow when I'm on my computer and can properly format it. I just wanted to post an update as I'm sat waiting for my train so needed to occupy my mind somehow and it

I'm really pleased with how I played tonight and feel my mental game was on point which is really pleasing given the circumstances.

Haha I'm not expecting to win the lot but I wouldn't complain. Birmingham games are just depressing of late.

@jossodee I'm probably not the best person to ask. I know 2/5 runs somewhat regularly at the Empire and Hippo, and I think the Vic has bigger games but they don't run particularly often.

I'm heading to London tomorrow evening and hoping to look at some flats over the weekend. I'll try and fit in a session or two while I'm there and hopefully not punt off.

I went down to London to do some flat hunting which is looking to be a much more difficult process than I originally expected. As I don't know anyone looking for a flatmate I'm having to look on spare room and other similar apps and I'm finding that anywhere worth viewing is often taken before I can view it, leaving just the really expensive and really bad places left. Not sure what I'll do going forward but hopefully I'll have a chance to look at some more this weekend too.

Poker wise, I managed to play a really short 1/2 session on Sunday evening before getting my train home and finished +£600. The most notable hand saw me squeeze AA otb and hold vs J9s that x/j on a J87r board roughly £400 effective. Both sessions this year have just been me having the best hand and not getting cracked so hopefully that continues.

Not much to report, just chugging along trying to sort a job/flat and stay busy. I haven't played any poker since last Sunday as the games aren't worth the long journey.

Has anyone ever played in Munich? Potentially visiting a friend there soon and would like to play some poker, does anyone have any recommendations where to play and know what stakes run?

January Recap

In terms of poker, my results were +£260 over 12.6 hours.

I had two winning sessions towards the start of the month and then wasn't able to play for a few weeks. When I did manage to I ran horrifically and played prob C game which, whilst still probably winning, isn't ideal. I didn't make some exploitative folds I probably would when on my A game and combined with some run bad meant I lost 5 buyin's in about 4 hours of play. Ordinarily this wouldn't bother me but I noticed my mental game was reallllllllly bad after these losses so I don't see myself playing too much in the very near future till I'm in a better spot in my personal life.

I also visited my friend in Munich which was sick. I got to see Bayern play which was a great experience and drunk plenty of Bavaria's finest beers.

Not too sure when the next update will be, I might try to play a bit later on in Feb. I think I might visit my brother / some friends elsewhere in the UK so might check out the local games there.

I've had a lot of stuff going on in 2019 so I put the Lpndo move on hold for the time being. That being said, the vast majority of my live volume is at the Empire. I much prefer it to the Hippo and the location is far better for me than the Vic or Aspers.

As mentioned above, 2019 has been a really hectic and frustrating year for me so poker hasn't really ever got off the ground for me. I've only managed to play 30 hours thus far in 2019 as well as perhaps a similar amount online which is awful volume but hopefully that'll change going forward.

That being said, next Friday I fly out to Vegas for the first time for 10 days or so and after that I'm going to spend 5 weeks or so making my way from Vegas to New York so hopefully play some poker as I stop off along the way.

Sup. I'll try to keep this brief ish.

I've came close to updating this a few times now but on the whole 2019 hasn't been a particularly great year on all fronts but they should be looking up now. I've finally actually moved to London now so hopefully have plenty more updates as I'm trying to put in as much volume as possible.

I did go to Vegas this summer for the first time and stayed with GazzyB, Everest17, Welshgaz so shout out to those guys as well as Max85, Bilesy and Bbissick. All top lads who made it a thoroughly enjoyable trip. I somehow managed to bring some Bellagio chips back with me so it's basically a lock that I go back at some point next year. I'm tempted to make at least one trip a year going forward.

I'm going to try to play 300 hours by the end of the year, starting from SEP 1st, and for every 10 hours I fall short there will be a small charity donation, most likely to either/both a mental health or homeless charity. Current progress is + £1312 over ~22 hours.
