You're right tyman. I'll look him up. This journey is quite an experience and regardless of the outcome I'm glad I am doing it.

5 hours, +212. Ended up getting a bad headache towards end of session so I left early. Need to start preparing meals so I eat better.. not a fan of food selection at foxwoods for the prices.. fifth street was awesome

Subbed, gl man I'm at Foxwoods every week playing 25. One you move up I'm sure you will do fine. I find the games to play more aggressive, which I like, not as ABC as the 12, and can be very profitable. See you around!

Pho is a special kind of wonderful. If you're ever in Melbourne, shoot me a PM. I know a place. Best. Pho. Ever.

Well, that I've had anyway. But I have had a lot. It even got my gf into it! (She hates mint)

Glad I could help you. Keep that drive up man, you are absolutely killing it! You're inspiring me too much, I'm only just about to take my 5nl shot. I'm not ready for live. But you make it look so easy! Haha.

Keep crushing, and keep that mind rungood going!

Limpers fold and I call. The raiser is an older gentleman whom I have never seen bluff or semi bluff.. his range is 77-QQ, 66, A2. Turn is 4d. I check, he checks. He is not slowplaying, so the flush concerns him. River Jh.. hero??
feel like this is a good hand to comment on.

I like a bet/fold a lot more than a check/call. you could bet small like $50-60 into the approx 145 pot and get a lot of value from 77-QQ hands that cant fold because hes bad.

If he raises hes going to raise huge and you know your beat every time.

What did you end up doing? check/check?

I love it man, chase the dream! I lost my job august 2013. I borrowed 300$ from my GF and never looked back. I know some bracelet winners with similar stories of taking a huge shot under rolled and coming out on top. Dreams come true but only if you have big balls (which you have). Run it up brother!!! You're obviously going to need luck at first but I'm rooting for you brother, holler back with an update.

Awesome. I bet you've seen me before. Perhaps I'll see you at the 2/5 in January.

If you can beat 5nl I bet you'd crush 1/2 live lol. I love Pho enough to go to Melbourne, let me add that to my bucket list.

My thoughts exactly. I lead out for 50, he called and tabled A2 for the win. I was deciding whether or not I should have checked against this specific villain I should have been more careful extracting thin value.. he pot controls with big PP s on safe boards because he doesn't want to lose a big pot, so in this situation he might have checked back in fear of flush (so bad)

Very short session again today. Ended up +201. I didn't even get into any big pots. I 3bet exploited fit/fold players and got no resistance.. I think three times this session.. had air didn't show.. pretty decent read on ranges preflop.. one player raises JJ+ to 15 pre, raises 7-10 pre with 99, TT, AK AQ AJ and limps everything else

That's what I like to hear. Where do you play?

Okay so I have logged all of my poker sessions with this free "session logger" app for android. These are my stats:

215 hours, +$9,007, $41.89/hr. Running good, playing good, and table selecting like a grasshopper. I literally leave a table sometimes when the big fish bust/leave and there are too many regs. Some regs at 1/2 arent that great but there are a lot of nitty ones I see day to day now.. buying in short and playing only nuts. For the past 8 sessions I have been expecting some negative variance, some decent losses.. and I seem to get myself out of most sessions when down.. let's hope it keeps up.

I have about $6850 ish right now. Got a couple bills to pay on the 15th

Thank you bros. I broke dead even tonight. Have been going to games around town and I think it has been -EV. Games are slower, shorter, and also leads to less volume. Going to only play the Friday night cash game after the woods (very good game).

+85

UTG raises to $8, MP calls $8, hero (QQ, button) raises to 24, UTG re raises all in to 67, MP calls all in for 48. I call. UTG shows AQ, MP shows Q8, board: JT769.

I lose a bit.

Maniac raises to 15 every other hand. Causes a chain reaction of mediocre hands to flat preflop. 2 calls to at 15 I 3bet to 85 with AQs, knowing maniac will call ATC and stack off on most flops with air hoping to hit a pair.. he has 55 behind. Flop is 923 I shove, he calls and shows 97o. NH.

I limp QQ in front of maniac and he makes it 15. Two calls, I raise to 65. Two players call. AK5 flop first player shoves 80, second player calls. I just muck its A5 vs A9

I managed to squeeze an 85 dollar profit which I'm happy about.. felt like a losing session.

Off to grind tomorrow.

You need to work on your bet sizing

Don't see any betsizing mistakes here. Unless you are referencing an earlier post? So far, OP has posted very few mistakes in this thread.

The 3b should be bigger than 3x if theres a caller already. However, with the other stacks thia short I dont mind it. Im curious if thats OPs normal betsizing or not.

QQ vs KK on 3QKss board ai on flop for 300..

89cc vs QQ on 67J cc board for 300..

Got frustrated too early in the session so I just left. Can't win them all, but certainly need to only play when I'm clear headed.

Loss of 600.

Roll is 6300 ish

Ahhhh, finally after 172 posts, variance rears its ugly head in this pg&c. OP, you did well to keep it at bay at the crucial start of your grind. Now don't let it get to you and keep playing the same way you ve been achieving your impressive results. GL GL!

Oh and also great job walking away when you knew frustration was going to affect your game. It takes some players a long time to be able to do that consistently.

Been letting things get to me lately. Need to put things back in perspective and remind myself where I was just two months ago. My game has improved over the years but I what I fear the most is when I used to go on mega tilt. Handling losses seems to be the most important part of this game for me.

When I face the bad beat situation or situation that could get me tilting I ask myself... "what is the worst thing that can happen? Ok... I loose 1 or 2 BI and that's it... I'm not going to die or something, it is just 1 or 2 BI. Now.. lets get it back, easily.. "
