Re: Having a really bad downswing immediately after setting poker goals

I don't know if people have been explicitly saying you are losing if you are just playing the softest 1/3 and 2/5 games in the world. People are saying you are not good enough, in both skill and discipline, to make enough money to cut it as a professional poker player. By you going broke *twice* in your one year as a poker pro, this is obviously true. Whether you made 26k or 260k it doesn't matter if you are spending enough that you go broke.

You would be doing fine if you had a job. You make 30-50k, another 25k playing poker and you average out to 40-55 hours a week of work/poker. That would be pretty good for most people. You have no discipline or motivation to do 40 hours a week of anything productive.

From your prospective, I can see how getting a job would be a low priority.

At a minimum, pay your girlfriend or your family the money back they gave you so you could go to the casino and play.

Maybe the GF can work some extra shifts and put him into 2/5!

Re: Having a really bad downswing immediately after setting poker goals

Aw man this is getting pretty sad. OP went broke, had to move himself and his gf into his mom's house where they are living with the mom and at least two brothers. He can't walk anywhere anymore so now he (and his gf) have to share a car 4+ ways. He has no job (not that that's anything new) and isn't interested in looking for one, even though multiple people have claimed that 50k/yr jobs are super easy to acquire. He can't even pretend he's looking for a job anymore because he refuses to take the one hour it takes to format a resume.

It's pretty obvious how the "addict" behavior is showing itself. When 6b went broke, he played it off like poker wasn't worth it for him anymore, he was over it. Now that he borrowed some money and had one winning session he's a Crusher who Could Have Been A Champion and is considering playing full time again. Yikes.
