Re: Having a really bad downswing immediately after setting poker goals

On another note: I saw nanonoko today. He was playing a $5300 HU teams tournament. A few big poker names around Melbourne right now.

I barely got to play poker today though. No tough spots. Nothing interesting. Surely you've had sessions like these where you think to yourself "what's the point of me even being here, I might as well just program a robot to sit in my seat and fold for me, because that's all I'm doing... folding and waiting for premiums."

If that is truly your opinion then don't play live poker. I have folded 60 hands straight yesterday and when I 3bet with aces I still get called. You should be happy with the variance free printing in your spot, but I guess you'd rather get AJo or KQo and gamble.

2. No I don't. I'm 3 buyins up after roughly 10k hands, and that's after my 14 buyin downswing. Clearly I don't get crushed and lose 10+ buyins every session.
1. Because you don't checkraise air against calling stations who can't fold. You do it in the right situations against the right opponents, not because your ego got the better of you.

2. Positive variance. Obviously not every session you lose 10+ buy ins, even bad players will have the occasional winning session by virtue of variance. The majority of online hands you've posted so far were played awfully - on that evidence alone, I find it hard to see you win at any level online.

Having said that, if you think you're a winner, prove it to us with your results over a large sample. I'm happy to alter my opinions of you being a winner online, once I actually see it happen.

At the moment, you're just all talk "there's no doubt I'm a winning player online, it's inevitable I beat 25nl online, 25nl is full of fish and mediocre regs etc.". Ok, go and beat it if you're so sure of that.

Believe it or not, I actually folded AJo today... UTG+2 raised to $15 and I folded in the SB with AJo.

Like I know exactly what I need to do to win money, but sometimes I wish that there was a fast fold button where I could move on to the next hand straight away and not waste my time. It feels so inefficient sitting there doing nothing. I almost wish I had a laptop next to me at the casino so I could play online hands between live hands, but I don't think they'd allow that.

Nah my casino recently introduced a new bullsh*t rule where you can't be on your phone at all during a hand. So it wouldn't be feasible to play on your phone anymore, since you would occassionally need to play a live hand and an online hand at the same time, which they wouldn't allow.

I assume that the reason they introduced this rule is because they want to stop vloggers. I noticed that recently, a few people from Melbourne tried to start up poker vlogs on YouTube, which involves filming their hole cards, and the new rule was only introduced shortly after those vlogs started. Could just be a coincidence though.

See the above post.

Tl;dr: can't use your phone during a hand.
