H/U sit and go bankroll challenge H/U sit and go bankroll challenge

Hey guys, I have recently been playing a bunch of h/u sit and go's and have decided to build a bankroll on 888 poker playing the turbos.

My goal is to play one table at a time and look to play 6-10 tables per session. Hopefully increasing my volume as I become more confident. My starting bankroll for this is $15 as I have recently moved most of my bankroll over to another site where I have been playing 2nl.

I have no immediate goal or expectations besides improving at the format and not going broke. Whatever else happens happens. But this will mainly serve as motivation and a way to keep track of my progress in this new format.

I have begin reading an eBook on the format awell and I am looking at incorporating what I've learned from there into my gameplay.

Wish me luck friends!!!

So first session of the challenge went decent to say the least. I played roughly 7 games 1 against an unknown who declined a rematch after I won.

I played 2 games vs a reg whom I have played a bit here and there where I beat him both games. I played standard against him however I noticed a sizing where he was hitting 3/4 button when he connected on his cbet vs 1/2 button when he had air. He also always bet a little under pot on turns and river when he had a hand vs always hitting pot on a bluff (ID picked this up over previous games and taken note) this made for a pretty easy match until he declined. Hopefully I can see him again as if he doesn't make adjustments I'll feel like he is easy money each time.

I then played 3 games against another reg who was super aggro. I lost all 3. He adjusted accordingly to my min bet strat by 3 betting me light and then jamming me every flop. I feel I adjusted well by tightining my open range aswell as jamming over pf with the top 15% of my range however I got it in with jacks that lost to his 910 as well has losing with aq to his aj. The final game I got it in on the flop with a 45s on a 447 board against his kjo only to have the turn and river to bring j's. I chuckled and then declined rematch before I could tilt. I feel I adjusted well to him and got it in when I was always ahead so I've taken notes on him and maybe in a future session I can continue to exploit him.

My final match I played 3 games against another reg but this guy was super tight passive. I mean I noticed he folded to my 3bets way to much so I widened my range a little to exploit him. He also almost always folded to a check raise and only ever led out when he connected. I took him for all 2/3 games and felt pretty happy with how I played.

Moving on I feel that I'm adjusting and exploiting my opponents well and I'm able to adapt to the player pretty well. I will continue on my min bet strategy as I feel it's been doing really well and these stakes and I'm yet to be exploited as of yet.

bankroll at the end of day one
$15.84

Not a huge increase in the roll bit I've gained a lot of experience had fun and didn't go broke. Woot woot!!

So I went out last night for drinks at this German beer cafe. Pretty fun night and was good to unwind and kick back. I caught up with an old friend and his gf which was long overdue and generally I was in a good mindset coming into my session today.

So I woke up a couple of hours ago, showered and ate and decided I'd have a short session of 7 or so games before heading to work tonight. I work in residential care with youth that have intense behavioural needs so poker is always a good way to reset before work.

Overall my session today went well and it's good to have some rungood to go along with playing good to increase the bankroll a little.

So my first match was 3 games against a fish. This guy was awful. Massive call station and would call my c bet with any 2 and then almost always bet pot on river after calling me down. At first I was giving him to much credit and he obviously ran over me the first game getting me short stacked and then winning my all in shove for 6bbs with a9s vs his pocket 4's. The next two games against him however I adjusted and just barelled down when I had it. Was funny as every time I got him down to 200 BBS he would just go all in every hand. Pretty easy match and I wish I got more then 3 games against him as I have no doubts I could have emptied his account.

I then went on to play an unknown player who just went all in 80% of his hands and kept showing me bluffs like him jamming 64o and typing lol as if to tilt me. I ended up calling him with pocket 9's knowing he jammed light however this time he had Queens. As luck would have it I hit a 9. I know it was a suck out but it felt good seen as this guy was non stop typing lol and donk. Plus with him going all in 80% of hands I still feel like I was ahead of a lot of his range. He insta declined a rematch.

Next I played against another unknown but I managed to pick up he min raises premimium and limps any 2 . I exploited this by widening my 3 bet range. Pretty standard match he put himself in lot of big pots oop and clearly couldn't handle it. Easy match took the win and he declined a rematch.

Next game was super quick guy shoves first hand all in and I call with AK vs pocket 2's. I river an ace and take it down. He declined and I move on.

Final game was pretty standard, he limped every button and I min raised button. I'd get chips each button then him and this resulted in me grinding him down to a push or fold start. I picked up pocket 7's which held vs his k9 and I took it down. He declined a rematch and I decided to call in quits.

All in all I won 6/7 games and increased my roll a decent amount... So....

Bankroll for day 2
$19.77

A nice steady Cushing of wins to play on that will keep me from not going broke that much quicker. I know I had some run good which helped out but I feel like having this challenge has kept me motivated to play good and to continue to learn more. I'm going to spend some time studying now before I head to work.

Until next time, best of luck at the tables guys.

So I had a losing session today which is totally my bad. I made some pretty bad calls and just spewed chips off to my opponents. This however helped me to plug a huge leak in my game play.

I realize that I am not adjusting to my opponent at times when I go from a super aggro player to a nit or vice versa. I'm not adjusting and making the correct plays for an unknown. This came down to me 3 betting without thinking of villians perceived range or vice versa, I was just 3 betting for the sake of it. I also called an all in pretty light. Just really bad plays from me today.

But you know what?? I'm fine with that ( not the bad play) but the fact that by playing bad I have been able to identify mistakes, record my mistakes and now put some study in to fill in the blanks of my play.

I played around 11 games today winning 4 of them which is probably my worst run yet.

I have 2 days off after tonight which I hope to get some more volume in then. Study some more and give my best at improving and beating the $1 h/u turbos

Bankroll day 3
$16.67

Not the worst as I'm still in the green since I've started the challenge. Also even if I go broke I don't mind as I can easily redeposit anytime, ii just want to move up in stakes and beat each limit before I move up.

Just played a quick 2 games against a reg. I won both pretty easy, this guy is super tight with a very polarized range. Always 3 bets premiums only. Folds to 90% of my cbets. His mistake was overplaying ak twice. One runnininto aces. Aipf and second shoving on a turn when I had two pair and he hadn't hit.

bankroll
$18.33
