First time poster. I've decided to document my live sessions in hopes that it will hold my game to account. Quick bio: I'm 24, have logged a good couple thousand hands online and off since becoming interested in the game at 13 (2003). Played many PS freerolls as a broke student, lost maybe 500CAD in deposits as a working graduate due to poor BRM and forays into omaha. Became biased towards live 1/2 when I realized how soft games could be in my city(Calgary). Grinding 2.5k hands at SS for 4 or 5 hundred cant really compare to the stupid hourlys I've managed against the live competition at my local casinos. I believe oil money has influenced the abundance of poker rooms here; i live within 15 mins driving distance of 3 or 4.

Basically I've always had tilt problems and have strayed into the faults of an aggro fish regularly, particularly the longer i play. I've had a fluctuating BR the past few years, but the line between it and spending money was always permeable. This post represents my will to transition into a more professional presence at the felt and eliminate the leaks that I know exist in my game. I'm not keen on setting a profit goal. I think a weekly minimum number of hours would be more advantageous. I work 30 to 40 a week as a cook, so I'm going to start conservative at 15 hrs a week and see if good play justifies more. Part of my motivation for this post is making a better commitment to logging my sessions and opponents.I've abandoned this endeavor in the past because it could be disheartening at times. However._it's time to face the numbers and see if there's any future for me in poker. If it's anywhere, I'm fairly convinced for the short term it's playing nits and laggy rig pigs at the 1/2 level.

Starting BR is 1000CAD. I hope that if nothing else I'm able to relate some funny stories of live shenanigans before I go busto. One room I frequent also contains a popular club, western themed. Lots of drunk opponents on the right night (hockey game/stampede).

I've never posted a HH before._.Here's the biggest pot I've ever played at 1/2 :

Action folds to villain, MP, about 400 BBs. Raise to 20.
(V is older, solid tag. Not playing many pots, larger pfr than anyone else.)
Folds to hero on the button, about 450 BBs. Hero and BB flat.Hero holds 57o. Putting V on mid pair or broadway connected combos.

Flop is J 4 6r, V continues for 45. I flat BB folds.
Turn is a gloriuos 3. Action goes V lead for 75, hero raises to 200, V raises to 400, hero jams.V tanks for a minute, calls w/ J decent kicker.

I swear there's value to print in this city.
