Km Run Update

I ran another 5k today to see where I could land time-wise if I really pushed it. Still not amazing but Im very happy with myself for landing at 27:32. After only two runs its a good start. With some more experience and getting rid of this some old atrophy in my muscles I should be able to break 25 minutes again one day soon!

more poker updates coming soon!

Update Time!!

Unfortunately this week has not been in my favour haha. about -11bi in 9k hands, but im very happy with how ive handled this streak of losses! I think ive played well consistently through it and handled my mental game very well. I can see the difference in this little losing streak compared to smaller losses in the past and my control over my own game while experiencing tough losses has been exponentially better. Ive never been so happy to lose!

Now lets take a look at some of these hands, and Im sorry in advanced for bad beat hhs because I get to show them to prove that im human too and dont just always run like a greek god hahaha

Well we'll start off hot haha. Weird line by me but on such a drawy board ott I wanted to try and induce another raise. Riv is meh but I think slightly better than x/c or x/f or even b/f

Alright end of month and year update!

After this post will follow another outlining my plans for 2018!

So December was a bit boring in terms of poker, missed my 80 hours and 40k hands with only 73 and 34k

Managed to pull out a small win though which was nice! nothing wrong with 3 wins in a row

and on the year @ 3.44 Winrate

Not my best year but not my worst either! This year with plans to put in more volume at 500nl+ and with a strong growing winrate and volume at 200nl I think I will be able to do much better.

This past year included 6 or 7 sites including Bodog, Stars, Party, iPoker and 888.

My focus this year will likely keep me to just Bodog, Stars and Party as I find the contrast between those sites is enough to keep me interested while getting enough traffic overall when I like to play. Since Im now on the lower end of hands per year (lower hands/hr and hours overall) I can do with less traffic overall and stick to just the sites that seem to not be completely dying out or full of bots!

Update will be coming soon to enter 2018 off right! Hopefully tomorrow. and following that some hands from play as of late.

Nice results. That graph does highlight how brutal things can be though, 96k hands breakeven spell, 16k winning spell and then another 177k breakeven spell before picking up greatly at the end.

Thanks guys,

and yea there was some time trying different sites and finding a setup that I liked due to all the changes going on around where to play, and through it ran into a 40bi downer, but out of it developed a 90bi upswing so luck was definitely on my site in the 4th quarter!

As for 2018

I will be looking to get my volume mostly at 500nl. Im going to reduce my hands per hour a bit but try to up my overall hours so that I can step up my game and overall winrate going into a new level more regularly. I've played about 100k hands at 400-600nl but all low volume as mixing in during my 200nl grind. My results are good there though so Ill look to continue that now that I feel my game has improved quite a bit!

For now the goal is to grind out ~200k hands mostly at 500nl and a small % at 200nl. I'm playing the long term game right now not worrying about winning short term at a higher level, just focusing on preserving my ability to grind there and constantly working on my game!

As for monthly goals they look like this for January:

80 Hours
30k Hands
Build a long term holding portfolio in crypto

The last one is a new step for me as I finally get myself into the crypto space. Im having a ton of fun studying the trading side of crypto, learning how to see trends and read graphs etc. By the end of the month I hope to have a small portfolio of coins invested in for the long term (evaluating year to year). BTC is obviously the frontrunner and I have already purchased my holding there. Next will be ETH and I have to start studying more coins like LTC and XRP etc. etc. I have a long list of potential investments ready to get going on!

Will do a short MTD post since I havent been too active lately

not much excitement so far but over 75% of my volume has been at 500nl tables so Im enjoying the transition thus far.

had a recent session with Jared Tendler where we rooted out some real old issues behind risking large amounts of money and then boiled it down to this topic:

Growth risk vs Complacency risk. These are cool concepts that seem to be regularly reviewed in the business world but not so much in poker, os it's something im looking into lately.

Long story short, trying to protect yourself by being conservative and reducing risk of loss can actually cause more risk on your overall growth in terms of long term goals etc. It can happen within a hand as well as in how you approach your overall grind, so it's a useful topic to research and see where you stand.

Hey guys! I'm making a bit of change to my grind for next month and youll see why in the end of month report here.

Simply put Im not getting enough volume at 500nl+ on Bodog and my mental game, while vastly improved throughout 2017, is still a bit patchy at higher stakes.

So I've decided to add 100-200 zoom as well as add 200 zone back to my grind along with my normal 200nl and 500nl tables. I haven't played much volume on stars in quite awhile and I've decided that it would be a good step to working even harder on my game, something I feel I've done very well on over the past year.

I'll start with 100nl zoom during some sessions, and 200nl zone + 500nl during others, depending on how I feel. I'm hoping this will also spark my motivation to play more hours and go for a higher hand total per month. So youll see some new 100nl hands as well as regular 200nl and 500nl hands like before. I'm starting out at 100 since I haven't played zoom regularly since probably 25nl years ago and I'm currently being staked, so for sake of improvement there isn't much need to risk roll at higher levels just yet.

As someone whos played majority Bodog/Euro sites for the past 2 years and live the year before that, it'll be fun to get into Stars games more regularly again and see how I can stack up in zoom games! The games have gotten quite soft since the rakeback changes, but there are still plenty of good regs to battle at these levels so it should be a good challenge!

Ill lay out some new goals for next month at the end of this one as well as the normal monthly update including some 500nl results!

Cheers guys

End Of Month Update!

hey guys, so here's my month in review.

my 500nl results total since taking a shot

On top of this I played about 10 hours of live and ended up around +C$1400 and I also binked a ticket in my first and only satty to the 1.1k FPC event #1 here in Niagara Falls in Feb.

https://www.fallsviewcasinoresort.co...edule_2018.pdf

Overall my month was good but as you can see my volume was really low! Despite that I did manage to play 87 hours of my 80 hour goal but I obviously missed the 40k hand goal.

I decided to play majority of my volume at 500nl bodog at the start of the month but due to bodog table restrictions it really slowed down my volume. By the end of the 25th I had only 17k hands, on pace for 21k hands.

This prompted a change in my grind that I tested out for the final 6 days of the month . I'm adding 100zoom and playing more 200nlzone while still adding in reg tables around and I'll be going for more hands (and hopefully more hours) in Feb.

With the WPT event spanning two weeks of feb Ill definitely be spending a lot of this month playing poker!

With that being said, I want to create a new goal list for Feb that takes away from the focus on hours and puts it on hands instead.

Feb Goals

100NL Zoom - 12k
200NL Hands - 23k
500NL Hands - 5k
Total - 40k

Live Cash - 20 Hours
Live MTTs - Make a good run in the 1k and satty into the 2.5k and 5k events

Looking forward to the challenge of more hands in the shortest month of the year! Ill try to update my progress on these goals more regularly here in the thread. And thanks for following!
