Got home today. Played a couple of SnGs to confirm my 3x pot button is infallible.

First I hit it for value.

And then I hit it for spewlolz.

Obviously I won that game after knocking out 2 players and reaching the bubble with more than three times the stack of anyone else. #EasyGame. I didn't do so well in a few other tourneys, but they were all on free tickets, so it didn't really matter.

After two weeks off, I feel quite rusty, and I'm still not very well (I never am, tbh) but Unibet has a very generous promo coming up this month, so - health and rungood permitting - I'll be grinding 25NL and 50NL most days in May, but might even take shots at 100NL.

Thanks. I try to balance my range by posting a mix of serious and silly at unexploitable frequencies.

Can't you take a look at this SNG hand for me? Villain jammed 10bb on the bubble. Did I make a good call?

Spoiler:
This sounds ridiculous, but I actually had a migraine so bad that I had double vision and seriously thought I had pocket sevens. I was horrified when I had a closer look. I'm not going to play with a bad headache ever again.

FWIW, Fatboy's thread has a bunch of microstakes cash hands if others want to take a look.

I finally got back on the 25NL grind today. 550 hands at about 22bb/100. Prob play 50NL tomorrow if I feel well enough.

Thanks for the comments Kounterfit, Husker and Ápëx Pápi.

Gotta in it, fist pump call.

cheers for the link. binked 42/2700+ last night. (11 buyins in 10nl terms). Shoved TT into AK. Dude with AK was really fishy and just played pre passively, like always. His stack off on me was his fourth double through in four consecutive hands Gotta love those Tourneys

Cheers mute. I moved back up to 50NL today with some trepidation. The bet-sizes seemed HUGE after a couple of days of 25NL. (And a practice run at 4NL, where I lost at 625bb/100 for lolz). I am so out of practice that I could only manage 2 tables, and most of the names were all new to me, so I had to take a lot of notes. It didn't help that I ran below EV in big flips, and one of my spewy overbet bluffs got snapped off by the nuts, but I won a bit over a tiny samplesize.

Congrats, Fatboy! Nice score. Here's a strategy post for you:

Do you really want a more serious one? I think I could post some common/standard spots that I think 99% of lolbad ABC regs get wrong, but I'm reluctant to reveal some of my pseudo GTO secrets when some of the regs might be reading. I like playing against bad regs.

@TDA, I haven't logged into Skype for about 2 years, and I think I have several friend requests on there, but I appreciate the offer, and it might be enough to drag me back into it. I'll PM you if I do. I think I'll need some help when I get to 100NL tbh.

I'll get back to you on that when I'm in a happier mood, as I'm a little tilted right now. I'm mainly posting this bad beat to get it off my chest, so I can file it and forget it.

At some point I might make a semi-serious post about 'avatar tells' on Unibet. Some are pretty reliable imo. The clown in particular lives up to his image. Case in point:

It's more funner when you runner-runner, right? God, I hate clowns.

Apart from running way below EV pre-flop this week (I haven't won any flips), I'm doing just fine. Volume is quite low so far though, as I've spent more time playing chess in the sun.

Nah, I don't play chess online. It's just a social thing where I go to my friend's house a couple of times a week to drink coffee, pretend to be rive gauche intellectuals, fail to see obvious mate-in-twelves, and bemoan how it's a long time since either of us got laid. :/
Sometimes we move on to Rocket League, which is a lot more fun, but I always lose, because the GTO solution evidently starts with "Have some sort of hand-to-eye coordination", but I have wings and webbed feet instead of working limbs.

I didn't really want to write much about 'real life' in this thread, as adopting the anonymous penguin persona better suits my purposes, but something I meant to do to humanize it and make it a little more "journally" was to mention a few things that gave me a modicum of pleasure each month.

To that end, in April I was mostly....
Watching: 'The People vs OJ Simpson'. Sheldon ****ing Brown! Sarah ****ing Paulson! Courtney ****ing Vance! 'Nuff ****ing said!
Listening to: Mixtapes (on cassette!) from 1996, made by my best mate and DJ-ing partner at uni before he went off to join the coolest British band of the past 604 years.
Vaping: Cherry Bakewell flavour.
Reading: A book (in hardback!) from 2016, called 'Chancing It - The Laws of Chance and How They Can Work For You' by Robert Matthews. I hate that subtitle, which is just a marketing gimmick that makes it sound like some sort of self-help book for degens. It's actually a serious scientific work about randomness, probability, Bayes' Theorem, variance, bell curves and global financial catastrophe. And the chapter numbers are illustrated with playing cards.

Fold pre imo.

Due mainly to runbad, that goal is probably unattainable, but I've kind of lost track of my winrate at each stake. I'll keep trying though, but I should have "enough" money to move to 100NL before 10k hands anyway.

A few secondary (and probably also unattainable) goals for this month:

[ ] Randomly get seated on Sam Grafton's table when he's Twitch-streaming 50NL.
[ ] Bluff The Squid.
[ ] Stack him.

Would you recommend that book? I've got one called The Jungles of Randomness on my shelf but I'm nervous to start because it seems like heavy work.

Also, you and I might be the only two 2p2ers who listened to cassettes last month.

Achievement unlocked:
[x] Randomly get seated on Sam Grafton's table when he's Twitch-streaming 50NL.

I'm on one of his tables right now. The recording will show that I marked my Twitch VPIP-ing debut by open-limping. With 7-high. For image purposes.
I've since won a couple of small pots against The Squid, and I'm finding it very surreal to hear a slightly delayed commentary on them when I've moved on to another hand.
